Our view of the 2016 Kentucky Derby Festival Opening Ceremonies: Thunder over Louisville. Thunder over Louisville has become the largest annual firework show in North America, and the largest combination air and firework show in the world. An estimated 725,000 people lined the riverfront to experience Thunder like never before; surprisingly only one ended up in the video! For the first time in Thunder history, the soundtrack was recorded live by the Lousiville Orchestra under the direction of Teddy Abrams and pieced together to make a one of a kind experience. An extended Grand Finale capped of an amazing display of raw power.
