Good friends of mine,didn't know Liam Howlett,different school to us,that well,went to school with Keith and Leroy,although a year younger than me,only met Keith Palmer a few times (he was from Peterborough) and not part of the Braintree posse,helped design the logo,haha got paid a woolly hat with XL recordings on it, gave my younger brother signed 12" records, liam signed it the music man, use to go round their lodgings, Keith use to live in an attic from the people he was renting from,long before he bought the barn he passed away in,Liam’s first car with his first cheque was a Astra mk1 gte,he loved that car, then on to a dodge viper,then the Mclaren when it started to roll in, went to all of their early gigs obviously use to see Liam DJ at the Braintree barn before he made it,Keith and Leroy were his dancers,Liam couldn't believe his luck when eastenders used about 10sec of “charly says” on it and got his first loyalty cheque for 10 grand, he knew they had made it,guest lists yep we was on it, mini buses yep we was in them, not so keen on their new stuff to be honest and no disrespect to The Prodigy but they are not the same without Keith,RIP Mr.Flint,we miss you brother
Met Keith Palmer a couple of times. First was round a 'mates' around 2002 - didn't recognise him as himself (and not Maxim) despite being an early Prodigy fan. Only when he went did my mate point it out. Next time I saw him was a few months later in a Harlow petrol station to return him an MPC2000 our mutual friend had told me he'd sell to us for 300 quid. Turns out Maxim had only lent it so I did the right thing and gave back.
If you're reading this Richard Redstripe, you're a lying c*nt and still owe me 300 quid.

Nice, my cousin was neighbours with Maxim, obviously he doesn’t live in Peterborough anymore but I think his dad still does. Crazy to think how they’re still selling out arenas!

I was also at the front near the left, my fucking eardrums were dead by the time I left lol. I've learnt my lesson to bring ear protection next time 👍
I saw them in Cardiff on 21st, one of the best nights of my life.

Awesome set, wish I could have been there. As a Gen Xr this obviously hits home. However we need to talk about the phones, people. The phones in the air are a problem. You are not living the moment. You're watching it through a screen. I appreciate this video fully, but let's just live through the music like we all did prior to 2007. Much love. RIP Keith

I hope they'll tour in America again eventually. I was supposed to be at one of their North America shows that got cancelled when Keith Flint died, still have the ticket from that too somewhere

Can see how over the years the atmosphere change in the crowd has altered. How different it looks now with a sea of phones in the air compared to before with more people just letting go and living the experience. Still a great set
I recorded for 22 minutes of a 97 minute set. I had a great time, and I got a video so I can relive some of it. And also get to share with others who couldn’t make it.

I think the atmosphere has completely changed without Keith there tbh, nothing to do with the phones. I saw them at Brixton 2 days before Christmas in 2017 and the atmosphere was absolutely insane, especially compared to this

The foreground of the thumbnail made me laugh, if the picture had been taken in 1993 i would have thought “wow, look at all the skinheads”, but since it’s from 2023, i could only think “wow, look at all the aging Gen-Xers trying to hide their baldness” 😅 And yes, that applies to me too 👴🏼

Great set but I know I probably wouldn't go to the gig due to the reliance they have those eye-buggering light shows. My eyes have grown sensitive to these light shows to the point where I need protective sunglasses if I do go or even medication to help with the migraines if I do get them Bloody nightmare when practically all the bands I like rely on light shows. Look forward to seeing if they release that album Liam keeps talking about.

I don’t like it. And I don’t understand why they’ve done it. It’s only a recent thing cause there’s videos online from July and the song is in tact. I’m confused by it.
@@8mu- Yeah, I went back and checked a video from August and noticed in then too. Weirdly, I don't mind it, but I think it's unnecessary to change such an iconic staple of theirs, particularly at live performances
They made a big deal of playing uncensored after the beastie boys complained at Reading many years go so it odd they are changing it now.
Interestingly I went to a prodigy gig in Germany a few days ago (on Thursday) and it was played uncensored.
This time I clearly can hear electric guitar and i think in most cases the riffs can be much better.

@Eightminutesupsidedown all the time though??? Quick video and a few pics os all that's needed. Not spending the whole concert getting a good shot or footage. Kind of killed the atmosphere as prodigy from what I've seen in the past looks amazing.

In what world is Flint the essence of the band?
It's the one MTV made you see in video when you were a teenager, but don't confuse your memories with the truth.
Flint never wrote the band's music, he was a dancer and then started singing, and he didn't sing for a quarter of the band's career. If your colleague commits suicide, do you stop working and needing to eat? The band is legendary, the venues are packed, the other musicians who've been working on this project for 35 years should sit on their hands because you like one of the band members?
Prodigy is two people, plus a few others who revolve around the duo who conceive everything. There's no reason to stop.

The prodigy released stuff before firestarter Keith started out as a dancer then become more central to the whole experience as they evolved it was never about one of them if anything Liam is the main man
