Cutting Open a Geyser - Corroded Tank and Anode

The inside of a geyser. Older tanks will have rust on the top half and by the hot water outlet as this is the place that gets abused the most (hot then cold expansion and contraction).
The anode segment shows a new anode and one that is a few years old. This is supposed to protect the tank.
