  • This week we decided to get the 1977 Toyota Celica Gt running and driving after 20 years of being parked in various fields. Spencer originally bought 2 of these off of Facebook several years ago. Maybe now we will finally build one of them.

Build a nice driver and the other one make it a rally/dirt racer… kinda like the Patriot Surger in Motorstorm video game…

    You now have my attention.
My mother had a 77 celica. Canary yellow. We called it the bucket of bolts. Best car ever!
    Miss that thing.
I was born 1 year before it was owned, in 77.
We had it for about 8 years.
Wish I could get my hands on one.

Diversity bro! Great way to fill gaps between part orders! I know how those ‘I’ll do it someday’ projects go. Nothing like being in front of a camera to help motivate to get those back on the road.

Oh guys, headers, a weber 32/36, and a cam will make that little 77 a wicked fun car. Also slap some slammed suspension and 215/50-15's on her, she'll scream around the corners. I know this. Have fun!!

I traded my '77 coupe with a bad slave cylinder for a pistol and $200 back in '89... and I still regret it.

Good stuff! I never even bothered trying to get the 20R in my '77 Celica running, just going straight for an engine swap. Kind of wish I had, because it looks like it's a hoot to drive in stock form.

They definitely are, 20r moves them little cars around pretty good

So what are thinking of doing? full build or just get one running? If you go full build my advice is pick the one with the lease rust body and frame wise and just move all the good parts to that one...

There might be some engine and transmission swapping in the future! We aren’t quite sure what direction to go with yet
