@HAMMOS75you usually watch these shows because you WANT the characters to survive, you pray they will, putting them in perilous situations where they could die but they pull through is the best for viewers, especially when it’s a character they REALLY love. We feel pain when a character dies, we are overjoyed when they nearly died but reasonably pull through by an understandable means. And considering we had that happen in season 1, with EVERYONE dying, it’d be very copy paste of the story to do it twice

This! I feel like the people saying this don’t care about the metaphors, stories and themes, they just care about the games and the deaths. Which shouldn’t be the main draw, you don’t need to kill off main charscters all the time to add emotional weight, we should want these characters to survive, and considering that they killed every character in the first season it’d be unoriginal and pointless to kill everyone here, especially considering this season focused so much more on the bonds and humanity within people, which the ending of season 1 set up so well with the homeless man.

I agree with everything you said except S2 having more developed characters. This time around, we got so much 'main' characters that it was hard for me to really feel attached to them. In season 1, every 'main' character death definitely either made me tear up or sob even if we only spent a small amount of time with them (ex.: Player 240/Ji Yeong). In season 2, I was rooting for Jun-hee (222), Hyun-Ju (120), Young-Mi (95), Se-Mi (380), Geum-Ja (149), and Gyeong-Seok (246). 3/6 (maybe 2 if 246 was actually saved by No-eul) of those people have died but not once did I tear up. I was sad, of course, but I just didn't feel as connected to them. I wanted to know more about 380 so badly but it felt like they just used her as an eventual character development tool for Min-Su (125) in season 3. Even the last death of this season didn't affect me as much as the last one in season 1 did. Of course these are all just my opinions. Regardless, the whole season was genuinely still very enjoyable and I'm hoping they wrap it all up nicely in S3.

This was a great season and I think I even liked it more than season 1. Those who say it was bad do it a great disservice because they expected a repetition of the experience from season 1 (while of course the first shock cant be replicated). But Ive read many people saying "We wanted more games and less of the not-game stuff." as if they hoped for a reality competition game show and didnt know they had turned on a drama series. They wanted some brainless entertainment about cheering for their team to win like watching a sports match, when it's the stuff around the games, the character buildups and especially the psychological game between Gihon and Inho who both have different agenda than just play game after game that gives this season its depth.

I was really surprised that when 390, Jung.-bae, was shot by the front man, I had no emotional reaction. I just sat there and stared blankly, I think what you describe is what happened to me as well - just this all around defeated feeling. I see so many people talk about how In-Ho maybe wanted to see whether he would change playing the game with Gi-Hun, but I doubt that was the case. For him, Gi-Hun was just an interesting speciment that he wanted to observe up close. He will never change his view on the game or humanity. If his backstory is legit (which I think it is), then he probably was disillusioned with the world even before entering the game himself. He played by the rules trying to find money to save his wife, and society still punished him. Through the games, he simply was encouraged to think even less of humanity. With his wife dead, there is no going back. He might still have a soft spot for his brother, and he might still be able to enjoy moments of excitement and happiness, but none of that will change that he thinks the worst of everyone.
Honestly though, that actor is a menance. Almost every scene he was in, all I could think was "wow he's hot" - especially when he killed that guy during the Mingle game. What a man to play this character.

This is how I felt S2 of Avatar the last airbender. If we're going with a 3 arc style storytelling, then I can def see how this season was meant to be a great defeat. With that being said, hopefully, this means S3 won't end, so badly, though I'm sure there's going to be heartbreak along the way.

obviously, 388 has PTSD, he was forcefully sent to the MARINES because his dad thought he was too soft and too girly playing and always being around his sisters, all that gunfire probably brought back his trauma, and panic attacks. He is from Marine class 1140, he enlisted on April 18, 2011, and was discharged on January 17, 2013. During this period in South Korea, the Ganghwa Marine Corps shooting incident occurred, leading to the interpretation of his PTSD. Let's all be thankful to him, coz 120 is saved because of him... our 120 is our MVP for this season...

The saddest thing is that the girl chose him because she thought he wouldn't betray her and it was twice he betrayed her because of his cowardice. And to top it off, he ran away when the Cryptobro defended him from Thanos in the bathroom and he was about to die.

I honestly think Gi-Hun may become the new Front Man. Spirit broken, realizing nothing he can do to stop it, maybe In-Ho already has Gi-Hun's "ex family" under watch and gives him a choice. Take over or he kills Gi-Hun, his family, people he's helped maybe.

  • @홍8-l1u
    @홍8-l1u 23 дня назад +8

    Just my guess:
Season 2 number 001(the front man) is actually son of Season 1 number 001.
The old man 001 from season 1 said his son does not like white milk. Season 2 001 also dont like white milk. (episode 6)
Front man cares so much about the pregant girl because she reminds him his dead wife with baby. In Season 3 the pregant girl will die at some point but taken to the basement surgery room. then somehow mayber from the pink agent number 11, front man knows about the harvesting operation with baby and saves the girl and baby with number 11 agent.
Because of all this, front man finally breaks the rule of the game for the first time and maybe sacrifice himself for the baby. (the front man becomes a good guy)
In the end 456 becomes the front man. 456 now respect the game and getting addicted to the game. In the begining of the episode 2, when the guy asked 456 in the motel "Did u kill him?", 456 said "no, he just lost the game(instead of saying yes i killed him)." this scene shows how 456 is changing as time goes by. So in the end 456 become new front man who honors and respects the game at the same time do not have guilty mind. (456 becomes a bad guy)
this guess is all from the book "The Four Fundamental Concepts of Psychoanalysis" by jacques Lacan, which was found in Front man's residence in real life in Season 1.
From the book, "The purpose of the drive is not to reach a goal (a final destination)(ENDING GAME) but to follow its aim (the way itself)(PLAYING GAME), which is to circle round the object."

First he was fine to let the O's to kill off a few of the X's so his team can play dead to wrestle arms from the guards then storm the control room for a break out. The plan of course fail. They were out numbered and out gun even without 001 involvement. His plan ended up losing more Team X. Of course Team O will attack regardless but had he and his Team X targeted a few alpha males the odd is a lot better than facing a well staffed and well equipped Frontman. Also I do not believe Gyung-seok - Player 246 is dead. His story with Guard 11 - No-eul is not over yet.

He envys gi huns outlook on the whole situation and is attemping to prove his worldview "correct" and wants gi hun to lose his faith and come to see things the frontmans way...gi hun started proving the frontmans point when he agreed to sacrifice the few for the many..

There are people in power who play with us.
Some people want to keep playing the game in hopes of winning it big, some for selfish reasons, others for valid reasons
While some want to stop, to change the system
The players of the game get caught up fighting and hating each other, killing each other

M25s aren't actually used in regular branches of military, so it would make sense that daeho didn't know how to work that gun specifically and hyunju (because she was in special forces) would :)
also I FULLY believe that daeho was a Marine and not just because of mandatory enlistment lol. there're too many quirks and personality traits to his character that would be completely erased if he was lying about that. It looked a lot like complex PTSD, coming from somebody whose father (Marine), sister (Army soldier) and grandfather (Marine) have combat PTSD. and it wasn't just like a thing that they randomly threw in, he's been showing signs of pretty extreme PTSD since the mini games lol.
but like the story with his father wanting him to join the military to make him more of a "man" makes so much sense with his character, and that one scene back when they played the mini games and jungbae was making fun of him for being really good at a "girls" game. anyways I think it would make no sense to his character if he was lying, it seems like he was probably discharged whether honorably or dishonorably, It seems like maybe he wasn't mentally strong enough to continue to pursue his career over there.
there's just a lot of open backstory with his character that I'm hoping we get next season because I'm so intrigued by him. 😭
I'm really glad that you didn't just start jumping on daeho though, he gets entirely too much hate as it is😞

    @Omn1media,
I've probably put way to much thought into this but hear me out 😊😊
First thing is about the "Recruiter":
When he goes to the park/plays roulette with the people he captured got me thinking about how he wanted our main character (I'm not trying to spell the character's names because I'll totally mess it up, please forgive me) to admit he was
"A piece of trash who just got lucky." He really needed to hear that from him to solidify his personal World view, like he said he started out working for the game masters he never had the balls to play for real! So that's why he plays games outside of what his main job is supposed to be (IMO). After we get down to the last shot he was willing to die in his belief that he was somehow better than the people he sent to the slaughter, but before he dies our main character lets him know he's worse than the people he calls trash (I hope I made that make sense).
Second thing, with the front man. I started thinking about in the first season when his Brother found the tiny room he was living in and all the types of books he was reading, it made me think he had similar trauma after he won his games as our main character and may have tried to find a different way but watching each year of the games play out made him more jaded to the point he decided the change in people needed would never happen in his lifetime so screw it 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️
Another thing about the front man is we learn that he and the host from last season were close and maybe hearing him explain how he felt being part of the games is why he chose to join these (of course he wanted to study our main character up close and personal too) and to see if that hope would rub off on him.
That's all I have to say about the show for now 😅😅
Omn1, I love watching shows with you for the same reason so many have stated in the comments section. There's a beautiful humanness that flows from you when reacting to shows and it's felt even through the barrier of the screen.
Thank You for that! I hope your Holiday Season was a great one.
    That's All For Now,
    Love Y'all!!🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️💜💜
