"I would probably just live my dumb baby life" lollll but for real I've been the baby coworker and literally that's the key, if you're good at your job they'll respect you and it'll work out 🥰
Loved the section about feeling behind in life! It's definitely easy to feel that way if we look at our peers or parents and whatnot, but like you guys mentioned it's important to appreciate where we are in the moment. I feel like sometimes we're in whatever stage of life we're in for a reason, like there is space for you to learn the lessons you need to learn or try the things you want to where you're at. For example, if you're single / unmarried / have no kids but your friends are getting married and having kids, it can be easy to feel like "shoot do I need to be married with kids right now?" but it's also important to remember that those things come with a lot of responsibility, so maybe you not having those will allow you to pursue a specific career, move to another place, etc. Just because the timing is a certain way for someone else doesn't mean that timing would be an exact fit for you too. At least that's how I see it and I'm happy with where I'm at overall :)
In my 40s and went back to college last year - it's never too late to do whatever you want. And yes to what James said - take care of yourself...You need it to keep up with 19-25 year old classmates 😅
Tbh I think college way WAY easier as an adult (I went back at 28) than it was when I first tried at 18!! I wasn't so preoccupied with worrying about all the stuff you worry about between 19-22!!
I was a high school teacher, got the job at 22 and would to see my students at local parties. I am no longer a teacher however one of my best friends was a student of mine and I’m not ashamed of it.
Hi guys, well James, as a Hip Hop dancer myself I definitely recommend you take classes, you would enjoy it I think, idk give it a try haha. Loved the Olivia Rodrigo mention hahaha sometimes I feel silly as a 31-year-old singing YOU BETRAYED ME hahahah I understand the teenage/young adult hardships but can't help to cringe and love it at the same time. I also think is never too late to change your path, and try new things, a lot of people feel behind in life cause of comparison with other people's paths that we know so little about. James: You ready to film another one? Leigh: UGH😩⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I feel like the teacher student thing is way situational like you guys said. When I was 18 I had a teacher who was 22 or 23. I feel like if he would have dated one of my classmates after graduation I wouldn't have thought it was too weird. We were buddies and I definitely felt like he was a peer. On the flip side, I had a history teacher who was in his 40s who would go find out where the girls hung out after graduation and hang out there. He dated a girl literally the day after she graduated, and she wasn't even 18 at the time. Eeeugh.
Also if you ever feel like you're behind in life, my advice is to just roll with the punches as best you can. I always thought I'd be a huge failure if I didn't have a house by the time I was 25, I thought I would be doomed forever if I didn't have some high paying job by the time I was 30, etc etc. I'm certainly not rich, and I would not call myself "established" but everything is stabilizing and I literally just bought a house two weeks ago after I assumed "oh my god I'll never get a house, I'll never be able to do it." Break everything down into baby goals and tackle those first!! Also just start asking people what you need to achieve your goals. Also realize that no one really measures up to the traditional yardstick that our parents and grandparents did. Its a different world. You gotta find what works for you. (I'm not helpful for the relationship/kids thing i just sort of fell into a relationship with my bff a decade ago and i also dont want kids.)
The student teacher thing is very case by case! Also life is what you make it! I think a good goal is just to be as happy as you can be with who you are and what you have ☺️
*Leigh talking about the use of the word technician* James: that makes them sound smart?! James three seconds later: I'm a technician! 😁 Also James then holding his phone case through the camera hole whilst simultaneously holding the mic made me laugh, I don't know why. I'm only at the start of the ep and I already love the vibe, you are both giving a really fun energy ✨ lots of love xoxo
I love frogs literally grew up with them I love tadpoles too 💓 dragonflies snails fish small ones. I would make a home in a pool for them and like create a sacred habitat for them💕💕 you guys are awsome thank you for sharing your sooooo the best everytime podcast Leigh and James ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great singers too ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My grandparents met and dated when my grandma was a high schooler and my grandpa a new high school teacher (pretty sure he wasn’t ever her teacher though). Same age difference as the couple in the question. It was a loooooong time before I ever thought about how weird that was, but it was the late 40’s so🤷🏻♀️.
PIT: My mom just dumped my entire case of blueberries on the floor that this elderly dog I'm watching keeps having accidents on. My mom thought it was okay to pick them up and put them back in the case like I don't like food waste but those have dog urine on them no thanks. PEAK: I love this house I'm currently dogsitting at. Its so eclectic there's plants and wind chimes everywhere. Its lovely very cluttercore, but kinda hoarders bs. My ex tried to get me into Magic the Gathering and I could not get it could not understand brain too small.
The best way to befriend a frog or toad is accept that they are cold hearted and friendless beings and that they do not have friends. The best way to make a frog or toad your enemy is pick them up. They breathe through their skin and have special protective mucus stuff or something. Picking them up is a direct attack 🐸
Korean movie rec for James: Memories of Murder (2003) i watched it on criterion channel its really good and i also love Korean thriller/suspense films, and its the same director of parasite
I think James is fursure dyslexic. lol, by the way, he will sometimes say a phrase backward and how he "sees" the song titles as "pictures" but doesn't really read them. I"m slightly dyslexic and find myself doing these same things
every week -
Leigh: *recommends a song*
James: "I've never heard of that"
Leigh: "You have"

Hahaha this is literally our life
Us all the time about everything.
