What a great story. 👍😍 Most of us would be fortunate to leave a lasting impression through the next three or four generations, through our children and grandchildren, I've seen people's ashes found on a mantelpiece over a fireplace totally abandoned by the current resident, who unfortunate passed without having any children of his/her own. But, even if there was someone, how many people are going to be willing to accept the cremated remains of some obscure great or great great aunt or uncle, grandmother or grandfather, and place it in a place of honor or respect, let alone on their own mantelpiece? How long do you expect you'll be remembered, after you and your immediate family have passed? How long until people stop leaving flowers on your headstone altogether, even once a year on your birthday or the day you died? How far would you expect the ripples you've created in life to propagate out after you're gone? Most of us will only ever send those ripples out through time a generation or two, maybe three, unless we can leave a more lasting legacy in that wake. These people have left one of the most effective legacies imaginable behind, because their music will continue for as long as people have ears to hear it and a soul to inspire. (Provided we have a World in which the technology to listen still exists in a functional form, of course.) The ripples they've sent out don't only propagate from the impact of their music, though. They've managed to have and raise children of their own who have also demonstrated the same talents themselves. "Wilson-Phillips," is as directly related to, "The Mama's and the Papa's," as any children of legendary musicians have ever been. Both groups of people, coming together in very particular circumstances in particularly brief periods of time that have proven definitive to the success of establishing such a legacy. It's essentially as close as anyone can come to immortality as possible, arguably even more enduring than monuments carved in stone or places auspiciously named in their honor. It's the music, the music will endure through the ages. Music that wouldn't exist had these very particular four individuals not crossed paths, and spent the time, however fleeting, with each other in the first place. Those ripples have the potential to propagate indefinitely, and likely will. 👍
