cant believe i missed this one, i absolutely love this kind of music. also narrated videos returning? idk why but i like watching videos like this that have voice overs, i feel like i can get behind the person more
😭😭 thank you so much!! They definitely are making a comeback, been trying to sprinkle in the voiceover stuff a bit more so i’m glad to hear you’re enjoying those videos!
Awesome! I gotta admit when I saw the breakdown was like 80 seconds I wasn't feeling optimistic but that was crammed full of info! Are you using Slicex for the drum breaks? I really need to spend some time learning to create these sorts of tracks, been replaying a bunch of PS1/Dreamcast games and this style of music is used all over the place!
That’s understandable bro! I’ve been trying to find out if faster paced/shorter content works better vs longer videos where I can go a bit more in depth with things, but even when i was editing I was like “sheesh only 70 seconds of actual breakdown?” 🤣 Yeah slicex has been my go to for chopping up drum breaks. I’ll be honest I don’t really know the full extent of how to use the plugin to it’s max capability but it’s simple enough when it comes to drums! Just drag the sample in and it automatically creates markers at each transient. It’s definitely a SUPER fun genre to mess around with man I just love genre’s that give off that nostalgic kinda vibe
@@SleepyVibesOnly_ Awesome! I'm definitely looking forward to getting to the point where I'm sort of 'fluent' in it. Like I feel like I can whip up a decent sounding synthwave track in an hour or so, but for this style of music I don't even know what elements to start with! I need to set aside some time to just focus and go through some trial and error to find a good workflow. Your videos have definitely been great in offering some guidance on that front so thank you very much for your efforts! Edit: Also I just watched the second half there and noticed the SSX video playing in the background! Love the music from the games of that time. Ridge Racer Type 4 is definitely the pinnacle for me, though that's more of a jazz/jungle hybrid type thing
It's my pleasure bro i'm happy to hear the videos have been helpful! I'm the same way too when I dive into a new genre, not even a year ago I was in a similar position! I knew I really liked the style and sound of drum and bass but didn't really know much about how to make it, and then after many failed attempts and experimenting with things I feel like i've gotten to a place with the genre where things feel a lot more natural! Seriously man the composers on those racing games back in the day specifically were doing some great things!
Thank you for watching!
This song is out now! If you enjoyed it I would really appreciate if you gave it a listen
Most videos you see will just sample 1 pad, but creating the base of the track by chopping up two different samples into 1 is a fire idea
Thank you bro! It happened just by luck really but I loved the vibe it gave off and it’s definitely something i’m gonna try more in the future!
I love this man making best tutorials he can do!
Thank you so much bro I hope they've been helpful :-)
