Replacement and Reset of Waste Ink Absorber and Counter of Epson XP-750

- As title says I'll tell you how to "clean" or better replace the waste ink absorbers and reset the counter of the waste ink in the Epson Expression Premium XP.750, the procedure it's very similar to the XP-600 and many others.
PLEASE REPLACE YOUR INK ABSORBERS BEFORE RESETTING THE COUNTER, IF YOU DON'T DO THAT IT WILL RESULT IN YOUR DESK FULL OF INK
Did I help you saving money telling you how to fix your printer by yourself? If that's the case and you would like to contribute actively supporting my channel and the content I make, you can donate any amount you want (even 1$ is more than appreciated) to help me create better videos at the link www.paypal.me/paolomarcelli
Of course if you don't want to donate I'll still be here for any question regarding printer repair.

Hi, have just completed this sequence on an XP-750
Unlike most videos is was exactly correct in every detail.
I watched the video a number of times before I decided to go ahead. I was in two minds as to whether to attempt it.
Fact is, it all went perfectly,
Brilliant video, thanks so much
Fonctionne sur une XP 520! Tuto assez facile. Mr Marcelli est très réactif pour répondre aux mails. Grand Merci à lui.
😊😊
Bonjour, avez-vous le logiciel disponible ? Pas de réponse ADCSFXworks... malheureusement. Merci de votre réponse
thank you so much! 🤝 I didn’t want to throw away my old xp-530 because of such minor problem. Not only waste of money, but also bad for ecology. I’ve bought new pad on Amazon, and used WIC utility for reset. 😁👍
Hi Paolo, I just sent you an email asking you for the adjustment program for my XP-800. I took apart the printer, replaced the ink absorb er, put the printer back together following your step by step instructions on the video. I could have NEVER done it without your GREAT easy to follow video. Thank you so much!!
Had been feeling a little nervous about doing this but, after watching this excellent step-by-step video, I feel assured that a mere mortal such as myself can do what needs to be done. Thanks 👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼
Good job :)
Paolo Marcelli Did you get my email about resetting the counter? I hope you can tell me how ;o)
@@63artemisia63 Unfortunately it's illegal to re-distribute these softwares, they are confidential! The safest way is to use WIC Reset, it's not free though, it's like 9.99$ for a single time reset I think!
Paolo Marcelli Thanks! I’ll look for it online. 👋
Thanks a lot for this! Excellent step-by-step instructions. I now have a working printer again!!!
Buonasera Paolo, ho utilizzato ancora la procedura e ha funzionato egregiamente, sempre grazie del TUO prezioso aiuto.
Ottimo :)
Absolutely awesome! I ordered a new ink reservoir with ink pads after I watched this video, from Amazon. If I can do this, you can do this. Just watch step by step, it’s perfect! I did spend the $9.99 on the WIC reset program, which also worked great! Thank you, thank you! Fixed my printer for less then $30!
Out of curiosity, what was the model/part number for the replacement in pad and where did you manage to purchase them from? Thanks.
@@dangerousdriving9227 This is what I purchased: www.amazon.com/Epson-Assembly-Shipped-XP-800-XP-810/dp/B07WWLS2WG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2F3SZN98I5AV1&dchild=1&keywords=epson+xp-800+printer+ink+pad&qid=1587642670&sprefix=epson+printer+pads%2Caps%2C265&sr=8-2
Just followed your info, was able to get to the waste absorbers. My main issue was that the mini tank under the print head was not draining down to the storage absorbers. Used a needle plunger and forced liquid up the drain. Was able to clear the drain so the excess ink will now drain down to the storage absorbers.
Thanks for the info and video. Did the trick.
Thank you for watching :)
Grazie mille ! (EPSON XP-810)
Very informative. My 850 printer works perfectly but needed cleaning. it was leaving black streaks on printouts. I didn't want to throw the printer away because it is a great little (slow) printer. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.
Your English is great too.
I was completely puzzled when I got the message displayed on the printer. your videohas really been helpful, i could manage the hardware part very easily for my XP-850. Very similar to the XP-750.
Cleaning the pads with rubbing alcohol ( methylated spirit) worked very fine for me. Am a bit lost on the sofware part right now, but will dig a bit more into it
as a side remark, I saw a comment from an a**hole regarding your English... am French and can only praise you for making a video in English to help a wider community.
Ben fatto !
Hi! Thanks for everything you said, if you need the software send me an email and I'll send you a link to download it safely.
Paolo M.
Thank you Paulo, brilliant video. I have an Epson XP-760 and your instructions worked perfectly.
I bought an Epson adjustment disc on-line for my XP-760 first, which worked flawlessly resetting the inkpad counter (the free versions would not work for this printer). Once that was successful completed, I then following your instructions to get to the inkpads.
Just a thought for anyone to do with cleaning the inkpads. Like you, I washed mine, as you described and gently squeezed them to get the final amount of ink out. But then, I put them back into clean water and let them swell up with water again. Without further squeezing, I pulled them out of the bowl (dripping away!) and carefully spread them out on wads of newspaper to drain and sun-dry. (It is unusually very hot today in the UK, it took no time at all!) After drying, (unlike yours) they were “plump”, with (like yours), a small amount of discolour, but other than that almost like new, plump such that they filled the ink pad container almost as before! I did not bother to use any other chemical cleaners as I surmised that they were good enough to go back in. Without your video, looking at your flattened pads, I would not have thought to not squeeze the water out. It probably makes no difference as they would no doubt soon swell up with waste ink anyway!
Thanks for doing this , I almost binned it until I saw your tutorial I really didn’t want to replace it as it’s the best printer I’ve ever had, again many thanks.
Grazie mille! Sei stato utilissimo :)! Per chi leggesse, funziona anche con la XP-530.
you're a great one! I tried the procedure on an Epson XP-850 setting the compatibility of the 2 programs on Windows XP. The only thing different from your video is that I had to select both the options in the "Check & Initialization" menu, ie "Main pad counter" and "Platen pad counter" because otherwise the latter was not reset. Thank you!
Instructions were accurate and easy to follow. It took me less than 15 minutes to complete the swap. Thanks, Joe.
ho joe did you have to use a reset key? and if so where did you get it from?
Thanks a lot. I was just about to throw out my printer. But your video is excellent, very helpful👍 I´m gonna give it a try and see if I can rescue the printer from the container. The biggest issue will be the computerwork after the the mechanics is done. All the best to you. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! If you can't find an adjustment program easily you can use WIC Reset. It's not free, costs around 10$ but it's safer and waaay easier
THannk you very much...you´re the best👍
Thanks for info saved me throwing out printer - would not have been able to fix without your video
I'm very glad my video has been useful for you, thank you :)
Just replaced the waste ink absorber assembly (purchased from Amazon). Thank you! I could not have done it without your excellent tutorial!
Thank you for your kind support!
Thanks for the video. I just rolled the old pads dry. After rolling their weight was 70 % less than before rolling. That is enough.
Thank you :) Yeah I think it should be fine!
Great tutorial and how to guide :) Should stop people from throwing their printers out when they are still fine!
One thing to note. The original pads/sponges can be cleaned almost fully and you can re-use them. You have to run them under the tap (at a low pressure) until they are completely clean - in my experience, this takes about 15-20 minutes per small section.
(I reset and cleaned an Epson BX625FWD, which was actually easier to open than this - just one screw.)
Hi!
I hope, one of the reasons why I make these videos is to avoid or better reduce waste :)
Note that different printers often uses different kinds of absorbing pads, the ones of the BX625FWD should be a bit easier than the ones of the XP-750 and similar ;)
Super Anleitung, funktioniert auch beim XP-7100. Vielen Dank!
Absolutely Brilliant!!!!! Very easy to follow. Thank you sooo much. I used WIR to reset. Type in Waste ink reset. download programme for free and type Trial in the key. Up and running.
Yup! It works but it brings the counter to 90% not 0%, so it will be locked again in a few cleaning cycles :) It's good anyway because you can keep printing for a while maybe after you get an urgent document to print.
Excellent and easy to follow tutorial. Paolo was super helpful when i got stuck as I hadnt read the comment about emailing him for the program. He was a star and everything ended well with a working printer. Thank you.
how do I find the email address for the programe

Great job for fixing your printer, and thank you for watching.
Great step by step video. Inkpads removed and cleaned in less than 30 mins. I've just emailed you regarding the next step of resetting the counter and where to find the software needed. Many thanks - one happy new subscriber!
Any answer?
Thanks for such a helpful video. I used this to find the ink pads in an Epson XP-605 printer. Not as simple as other printers I've rescued, but still fairly accessible with just a screwdriver.
The software I used (WIC Reset, costs £5 per key) informed me that the main pad was at 100.99%, no wonder why it failed.
Thank you for watching :3
Grazie e buon lavoro
This is superb. An outstanding example of how to make a good help video.
Thank you so much :)
Hi Paolo. This video is perfect 👍. It’s work with my XP720. Thanks for all.
Bravo! How you managed one handed and with your video I just don’t know😂 but your video is excellent and so very helpful. Thankyou from UK.
Thanks a lot... not needed for me but saved for the next time... Any recomended inks? CISS? rechargable inks?
Hi Paolo, great video...I have an Epson XP-700 so it will all be the same physically?...does it matter that I am using Windows 10 for the reset key? and where can you recommend I get the counter reset key from? the printer has been working ok using W7 W8 and now W10 Thanks for your help
I must say very through guide and nicely narrated, so well done!! :) I've got my waste tray out and have cleaned all the sponges with gloves. There was a hole in one glove, so I now have black finger but clean sponges :D
Ink stained fingers are the sign of a printer technician in the early days :)
More Help than Epson Themselves, Thank you
Thanks :)
You sir are a genius, excellent posting with detailed instructions
Thank you.
Thank you :3
Thanks for the simple information on how to do it
Useful video! You can get replacement waste ink housings complete with new pads on ebay, I got mine for the XP-750 for about £12.
I followed the steps on the video and cleaned and dried the ink pads, it went perfectly well. I had to buy the Epson 760 Adjustment Program ($ 5.85). I don't get this to work, program key is missing. I've called for it, but can't get an answer. Do you have a solution for me?
Great video, well done, but I think I will put some compression on the sponges with an absorbent layer to dry them, it means they will retain their shape, probably just wash and spin in the washing machine... Thanks again, sorted a wee pigment printer out...
Many thx for this tuto, it’s working perfectly on XP-700 ! 👌💯
Thanks for sharing this, so kind of you. Super simple instructions. printer fixed and looking forward to many more years of printing. Keep up the good work.
Paolo, you're great! Thanks very much. I have an XP-620, but could use your very clear instruction very well!
Thank you so much :)
Plus you do it in such a sympathetic way! I was able to clean the pads. It was a dirty job, but I managed. Then the counter back. First a free trial to 80%
Thanks. I am having a problem with my XP800 and is this pad issue a problem with all Epson Printers? I use canon for ages and never encounter this issue.
Please where can I get the adjustment program file?
Hi! This is a problem that involves every inkjet printer, they all have pads inside that collect waste ink, you can even see it by yourself typing ex. Canon waste ink pads full.
For the adjprog write me an email, you find the address in the video description.

Kwekusa Samuel Tylstedt Z Z Hello. Re the RUclips video by Paolo Marcelli on replacing the ink pad on the Epson XP-750, I’ve emailed Paolo for the ink pad reset program, however he seems to be out of contact. I understand Paolo sent the program to you and I’m hoping you might be willing to pass it on please? If you would be so kind, please message me and I’ll provide my
email address. Many thanks.
Thankyou for your instructive video. Instead of cleaning the filters I have stuffed the box with cotton stuffings. Now I need a software to reset the counter. I have a MAC with software 10.15.2 Catalina. Do you have any suggestions where I can find this software ?
Awesome - I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to access the waste ink pads and your video was a great tutorial! My fingers are black right now, but as long as the printer works, I can deal with it. :)
Paolo is the real deal - it worked on my XP-800. A few clarifications. (1) You need a direct USB connection between the PC and the printer - ethernet via a modem/hub will not work. If you need a USB check out Amazon - Monoprice puts out an excellent product at prices no store can touch. 4 bucks for a 6 foot USB (free shipping with Prime) - what's better than than that ? (2) The software that Paulo used - email him for it. Both the Epson Adjustment Program and the Unlocker are in the Zip file. I recommend using WinZip to unzip - it's a personal preference as I'm used to that application. 7 Zip (the native program) not so much. (3) Epson Adjustment program and the Unlocker worked in Windows 7 for me - no need for Windows XP compatibility mode. (5) "Destination" field below the model name was enabled in the drop down menu for me - I chose "Euro" and it worked. (4) Cleaning the pads is not easy - I got new ones via eBay. OEM Epson Waste Ink Assembly (For: XP-720, XP-800, XP-721, XP-810, XP-820, XP-615) - $16.99 and free shipping. Assembly and new filter pads - fit perfectly. Summary: it cost me about $22 (USB cable, new pads) including US tax in materials and very little sweat equity by following this video to get my printer going again. Grazie - ciao!
Great video, saved me buying a new printer, I got reset code on ebay for £6 from craft media shop
Terrific job, thank you. I can confirm that this worked on Epson XP-530 printer. 1) Downloaded 'wicreset.exe' from printerkeys.com. 2) Turned printer off & on, then clicked 'Read waste counter(s) in the wicreset utility. It confirmed that it could read the value of the waste ink pad counter. 3) Paid $7.86 USD to printerkeys.com using Paypal. The necessary code for the wicreset utility appeared straightaway after paying, I didn't have to wait for an email. 4) Clicked 'Reset waste counter(s)', pasted in the code. 5) Turned printer off & on, printer back to normal. 6) Followed the steps to remove the ink pads and washed them in the sink, they ran with black ink for ages. Put printer back together, all OK. I found it was a good idea to Sellotape the flap of the printer with the little screen in it to the printer before turning the printer sideways, otherwise the flap fell off and strained its ribbon cable. Once again great job ADCSFXworks. Shame Epson live chat help don't mention you. Saved 'fixed price repair of £118+VAT GBP' according to Epson live chat help. Writing a letter to the chief of Epson Europe to say how much better it would be if the waste pads were an easily user removable and replaceable part. How much better it would be, if instead of a lurking nasty surprise, it was a consumer and environment friendly selling point.
Hi Phil! I'm happy you found my video useful, but if you contacted me you could've done that with the adjustment program, unlike wicreset it's free (well, sort of, it's a confidential software, but I can give you that!)
Consider that Epson gives the possibility to replace the ink waste pads to the end users only on a very limited and highly professional grade machines, but sure it would be great to do the same thing on the "home" printers :)
Thanks for your reply. I was with a customer on-site and that was the reason for using printerkeys. I would rather have used something free and not having to pay. Once again great job ADCSFXworks.
@@PaoloMarcelli WICResetter is a rip off, they charge a hefty price to get you reset keys I would definitely not want to use that. You keep telling people to e-mail you but nobody here is receiving any reply to e-mails.
WIC Reset is not a rip off, it's only £10 (or less!) and makes the printer work again :).
It also supports a larger variety of printers compared to other tools - so it's much more likely to be compatible.
I saved an Epson BX625FWD from the dump by resetting it via WIC :)
Hi! I too have a 530. I can’t use it because of the message. I’m contemplating trying this method to rescue my printer. But... my operating system is Linux based. So I don’t think I can do the reset part. Unless you or anyone reading this knows different. Hoping I can though as I really like this little printer.

Please could you tell me if there is one you recommend, and if these are free or I should be paying, and also what the script you use is, and where I might find that? I hope you don’t mind me asking, I’ve tried searching but there are so many answers I don’t want to do the wrong thing! Thank you so much for your help.
Excellent video. had my Epson XP 700 a while now so expecting to get a waste tank full message soon. Your english is great. Thanks
IDEA FOR INK ABSORBER MATERIAL:
Thanks for a great video Marcelli.
I asked myself what is the most absorbent material most commonly and cheaply available. The answer I came up with was ladies sanitary towels. - So I went to my pharmacist and he told me the 'overnight' ones were the most absorbent. I got 20 for US$1. I cut one to the right width and took off the outer layer and then folded it into the tank. Perfect solution. - Anyone need 19 sanitary towels :) ?
My thought was to stack the tank with suitably arranged tampons - has anyone tried same?
Molto mooolto utile ed estremamente chiaro. Complimenti!!
Grazie :)
Thanks for a helpful video, I've managed to save the printer going to the recycling centre !
That's the biggest reason why I make these videos :) Nice work.
Thank You very much. You explained it all very well.
Thanks a lot, Paolo! Now my XP-760 is working again!
how dod you get this to work for xp-760?
Thanks for your video. I have a Epson XP 530. It works perfectly. Molte grazie
Top quality video, to the point and well put together

Grazie!
Yes, a genuinely great video and commentary but, in addition to the waste tank, my ink system assembly was overflowing and full which was causing smears as the printhead swept across it. This is the mesh and foam strip on the right hand side. It captures the waste ink which is then pumped by a motor through a tube into the waste tank underneath. I decided to replace both as the tank was only 3GBP and the system was 8GBP. Getting access to the system was more challenging and if anyone wants advice PM me and I'm happy to help. I also have the 125 page series 500, 600, 700 and 800 service manual without which I would not have embarked on the project. I'm pleased to report that with new system assembly and tank, the printer is now back running perfect.
Generous offer my friend.
I could certainly use that 800 service manual as well. If you ever see this pls email my Google email at my username 🍻

How bout the Ecotank models? The pads look the same but how do we reset the software? Thanks!
Hi This has given me some thought, I want to fit a external waste system to my Epson XP 850,following your instructions I just can not see the fill tube, is this possible to access the tube at this stage and put the waste ink tank in back, after connecting the tube to the external waste tank, this would be very helpfull. if this is not the case, whats the chances of you making a full video on installing the Epson XP 850 waste tank system. It is very obvious you have the talent to do so. I really enjoyed the instruction. Many Thanks Ron Thomas
Hi!
I'd really enjoy to make a video on the XP-850 but I don't have that printer, so it's impossible for me unfortunately :/
I'd like to avoid making mistakes, but I really think the disassembly of the waste ink container should be the same of the XP-750, if you managed to remove the waste ink container you should notice that on the bottom of the printer where you removed the waste ink container there's a port where ink comes out, this video could be useful for you, it describes how to connect that port to a tube :) ruclips.net/video/PQz4-FYRyGE/видео.html

I also would like to know where to get the epson adjustment program , I have a epson xp 860 , appears without the 'adjustment program' everything else is useless and the printer is worthless,,,,( I also will NEVER buy any epson product )
I have an Epson xp530. My machine won’t work because it says it needs the service to do the pads and reset the code.
I do want to try what you’ve just done, but how do I get the code?
Hi! To reset the code you can use WIC Reset on inkchip.com site, using the adjustment program is possible but exposes you to potential risks. Asjustment Programs are confidential and the ones you find for free online often have malware inside, so either you have access to an adjustment program that is free of malware or you use WIC Reset to reset the code.
Be sure to replace the pads before you do the reset, as they are full of ink and any other ink spilled on them may cause the printer to leak from the bottom.
Merci, explications très claires. Je cherchais depuis très longtemps cette procédure. Nota : Utiliser des tournevis tète aimantée!
Thanks for the video. It is very helpful. I cleaned the ink absorbers as instructed but my question is what is the website for the program you loaded to reset the printer? I am having difficulty with that part, and when I search on my own I pull up scammy looking websites instead. Thanks for your help-
Contact me at my email and I'll provide you a link to download it from my cloud account for safe :) email is in the description
Hi Paolo-how do you reset the printer once the pads are cleaned if you have a Mac?
Hi! If you have a Mac, the only way is to use wic.support it's not free, but it works!
Hi, I followed your video for cleaning the ink pads in the reservoir and need to reset the waste counter. Do I need to download software to do that? Thank you
Yep, software is required to reset the counter or it will refuse to print.
If you cannot get the Adjustment Program then use WIC Reset. It will do the same thing.
