If you chose to write about the kite runner / dolls house in section B, would you still avoid an introduction ? Also would you do an introduction for section C?

The is no requirement to do introductions for any section B or section C questions. Section A (extract) responses do need an intro which acts an overview.

There is no requirement for students to refer to critics for Lit B. AO5 will be awarded automatically if students are discussing the task and engaging with the text without meeting to be distracted by critics or theory. We know this because there are lots of band 5 essays out there that do not refer to critics or theory.
