  • This is a mashup from the Episode "All In the Game" from 1981-1983. It shows how to produce an ATARI VCS 2600 Game (Atlantis). In this video you become a contemporary witness and can feel the aura of the 1980s time. A video that you must have seen.

Love seeing all those newly packaged games! Hard to find the boxes looking that good now.

This video should be titled “Inside the 1982 Video Game Industry”.
Historically, Imagic was the second third party game developer, but I recall Parker hitting store shelves way before Imagic. Maybe due to Parkers board game notoriety, they were able to distribute to stores easier/quicker?? Just a flimsy guess.

I chose the year 1981 because the game industry in the form of Atari turned the corner in this year.

@@u64 Most kids in my neighborhood, and many school classmates, received an Atari, for Christmas 1981…me too!
Prior to this, I only knew of a few people who owned an Atari.
Parents were different ’back then’. They took their time weighing out the pros and cons, and the costs associated, with this new form of entertainment. So Atari may have been introduced in Fall of 1977, but it took several years for most families to get on board. At least that’s my recollection!
