You're correct; this is an artist vs artist competition, but her this is her 2nd "Rolling in the Deep" version, as her 1st version is the one she did in Wish Bus. I wished that whoever recommended this said the Wish Bus version to be viewed first. Like Stell, she's also a judge/coach/mentor in The Voice, but while Stell's is "... Generations" hers is "... Kids". Recently, there has been a audition call for the 2024 "... Teens" and people are wondering if Stell will also do the coaching to make a 2-peat or a different SB19 member will have a go for it. Now, if you notice that KZ used autotune, she said yes but only for shock/style faction and only for the beginning. She always want to scramble people's heads when it comes to her musicality. Before this "Singer" competition, she was in X Factor Philippines, and that was her start and how she launched to being a celebrity singer. Everyone will surely recommend to watch it i.e. her audition video.
Kz is so sweet and adorable off stage but a beast once she performs, just like our boys. She joined XFactor Philippines and won. She mentioned that she had to learn how to be creative with her voice because she can no longer hit high notes the way she used to after she had issues with her throat. KZ Tandingan was the one who introduced me to OPM or Ppop. She was the first winner of Philippine Idol. Like SB19 she is not your 'Run of the Mill' artist. Like them, you can't box her in! This show in China was a surprise find for me! I love her to bits- brimming with gifts and talents like SB19. She and SB19 are world class talents!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
She is a total firecracker when she wants to be, but what I really love about her is her versatility. You need to hear the tender parts of her voice too. Don't get me wrong, I love when she's in her rock/rap goddess mode, but I also LOVE when she does R&B and ballads. I strongly recommend listening to one of her originals "Nag-iisa Na Naman". I believe there's a Wish bus performance of it, and another one where she was a guest on a UK radio show. She killed it both times.

There are several KZ performances that are great. My personal favorite is her collab with Jaya singing Feeling Good (Nina Simone original). Like you, Im a fan of deep voices and soulful singing. This particular rendition is very good. Her own song Nag-iisa na Naman on the Wish Bus as well as as Doo-wop/ Can't Tale My Eyes Off You mashup with Yeng and Kyla are equally awesome. My favorite performance of hers in this competition is when she sang the Chinese ballad medley... It's so beautiful, I promise. Folks were in tears. She was in tears before her performance because she only had 3 days to learn the songs and was struggling with pronunciation, yet it turned out so beautiful.

The Singer is a Chinese competition for professional singers and it's by invitation only. You are only allowed to sing covers. You can sing your own song only once, so you have to pick wisely as to which week will be the best time to sing it. Each week the audience members and industry judges vote for their top 3 performances. Singers at the bottom usually get eliminated. During some years twists to the rules are introduced to keep things lively. The last competition was in 2020, Hua Chenyu won. In this vid, he's the young guy in white watching KZ really attentively. Hua Chenyu and KZ became avid fans of each other in The Singer 2018. Jesse J was the 2018 winner. 😊

To better understand what is Singer 2018 and how insane a talent you must be to make it on the show, here are some details: Yes, it is a singing competition, but only for established, professional singers. It is the most popular singing tv show in the world, drawing 200+ million viewers each week. Aside from all the Chinese contestants, two spots were open for International artists. One from the UK (who became Jesse J) and one contestant from Asia (but outside of China). Competitors had to go thru many rounds of auditions that lasted weeks. KZ beat out ALL artists from the Philippines (and rest of Asia? not sure, haven't heard any info about Korean, Japanese, etc artists being invited that season). Two things that i like about the show: 1. artists get to arrange/re-arrange the song, bring in outside band members, even outside producers each week. 2. The amount of time the artist gets to practice and reherse with the Singer band. You could tell in this performance KZ spent a good amount of time rehersing with the band. She played with the band by mimicking their sounds vocally, her scatting and ad libs were amazing and so tasteful. This was a performance for the ages! This performance woke me up to the fact that there could be amazing talent outside of the US! I had never heard of OPM before this. KZ single handedly introduced me to the world of OPM, it's amazing artists (who are all such great live performers!), The Wish Bus and then onto artists in other countries. KZ performed a total of 8 times on Singer 2018. Every single performance is EPIC and memorable and all are totally worth watching! Great reaction, you noticed and mentioned quite a few KZ things that most reactors miss!

This reinterpretation of “Rolling in the Deep” was a refreshing take of a song we got sick of hearing. Her interpretaion of “Say Something”, also from this same Singer competition, was also out of this world. With only a guitar accompaniment, it was perfect. You gotta check that out, too, if you haven’t yet. As far as I know, all contestants in the Singer competition are established singers.

She and her Band can cover ANY song in ANY Style. You need to check out "Fly me to the Moon" for her JAZZ chops, "Unholy" for Rock, and "Better Days" for story telling. You will NEVER get bored. She get great reactions from almost ALL the voice coaches on RUclips so enjoy your journey.

Finally! My fav girl KZ! She has an earlier Wish Bus version of Rolling in the Deep. She started in a mind-blowing audition in X Factor that even judges like Gary Valenciano couldn't believe what they're hearing. You'll never want to hear Somewhere Over The Rainbow any other way ever again. lol

The Singer is a Chinese competition for professional singers and it's by invitation only. You are only allowed to sing covers. You can sing your own song only once, so you have to pick wisely as to which week will be the best time to sing it. Each week the audience members and industry judges vote for their top 3 performances. Singers at the bottom usually get eliminated. During some years twists to the rules are introduced to keep things lively.
The last competition was in 2020, Hua Chenyu won. In this vid, he's the young guy in white watching KZ really attentively. Hua Chenyu and KZ became avid fans of each other in The Singer 2018. Jesse J was the 2018 winner. 😊

To better understand what is Singer 2018 and how insane a talent you must be to make it on the show, here are some details: Yes, it is a singing competition, but only for established, professional singers. It is the most popular singing tv show in the world, drawing 200+ million viewers each week. Aside from all the Chinese contestants, two spots were open for International artists. One from the UK (who became Jesse J) and one contestant from Asia (but outside of China). Competitors had to go thru many rounds of auditions that lasted weeks. KZ beat out ALL artists from the Philippines (and rest of Asia? not sure, haven't heard any info about Korean, Japanese, etc artists being invited that season). Two things that i like about the show: 1. artists get to arrange/re-arrange the song, bring in outside band members, even outside producers each week. 2. The amount of time the artist gets to practice and reherse with the Singer band. You could tell in this performance KZ spent a good amount of time rehersing with the band. She played with the band by mimicking their sounds vocally, her scatting and ad libs were amazing and so tasteful.
This was a performance for the ages! This performance woke me up to the fact that there could be amazing talent outside of the US! I had never heard of OPM before this. KZ single handedly introduced me to the world of OPM, it's amazing artists (who are all such great live performers!), The Wish Bus and then onto artists in other countries.
KZ performed a total of 8 times on Singer 2018. Every single performance is EPIC and memorable and all are totally worth watching!

This reinterpretation of “Rolling in the Deep” was a refreshing take of a song we got sick of hearing. Her interpretaion of “Say Something”, also from this same Singer competition, was also out of this world. With only a guitar accompaniment, it was perfect. You gotta check that out, too, if you haven’t yet. As far as I know, all contestants in the Singer competition are established singers.

She was invited to participate in this show where established singers compete. Of course, Jessie won, as she should. But KZ left a very good impression among Chinese fans. And yep, she has the same vibe as Pablo. I'm actually hoping for an actual song collab between the two, or if not, a KZxSB19 song. The respect and admiration theyve got towards each other is understandable. They really have the same energy. I love KZ even before SB19 debuted, so i guess this is why I instantly liked esbi the moment i knew of them. 😊

You really need to check out another amazing artist from the Philippines who is know as "The Queen of Covers", Gigi de Lana.
She and her Band can cover ANY song in ANY Style. You need to check out "Fly me to the Moon" for her JAZZ chops, "Unholy" for Rock, and "Better Days" for story telling. You will NEVER get bored. She get great reactions from almost ALL the voice coaches on RUclips so enjoy your journey.
