I highly recommend playing this again, there's a lot more than you think, a lot a lot more, as long as you don't kill the prospector. Also I reckon you could beat the grizzly fight, if you enhanced your wolf to give it 4 power, played it turn 1, then used the pliers for an extra weight, maybe it'd work, maybe it wouldn't, I'm still secret hunting so I haven't reset and tried yet.
One thing you seem to have missed. On my second playthrough I died against prospector, and after he took my photo it unlocked a new area where it resets your deck and teaches you how to use "bones" (a resource akin to blood but it is cumulative between turns and gained due to any dead creatures no matter if sacrified or killed in combat), it freaked me out when it happened.
I really miss the name of “sacrifices must be made” and hope that it would be the sub heading of the name, but if this was released as a rougue like, consider me sold

Wasn't the demo for this called "sacrifices must be made' ? Honnestly that was kind of much better name for it unless the full game reveal a cmpletly new theme.
Honestly I think this would work really well irl as like a D&D style card game, or maybe just like a multiplayer VS where one person is the guy and the other is the player But I do think that forcing you to lose on the bear part to introduce the candle system kinda sucked, maybe having special dialogue if you do win like "You managed to take down the bears, but their claws will leave lasting injuries without proper treatment" or something like that and THEN make the player bring the candle over to then put one out or something
I won't lie, that forced loss blows. Why make it hard but winnable and then force the loss anyways? Just make it obviously unwinnable. Love the rest of the game tho.
I think it's to mentally establish as the Stoat says that the Forest Spirit is going to cheat and not play fair. This comes up later in the boss fight where he flips the chess board and says "lol I no dead yet I wipe out all your standing cards" Think of it like how Yugi kept going up against magical cheating enemies and had to get creative around their cheating gimmicks.
I have some guesses as it was winnable going a certain route like giving the attack power buffs to the cat or turtles instead but I don't have a way of knowing for sure since I can't play it
Thanks for showing what happens if you're gonna win the candle fight. That's one game now off my wishlist. I wanted this first and foremost for the gameplay, and that cheat I just do not want. Seriously, thank you so much.

ever since you played the first demo for this game it has constantly been on my mind. I'm so freaking excited for the full version!!
I was blown away when the stoat talked
I love the way your read stuff in games, it makes the gameplay a whole lot more interesting that it actually is.
After watching this video, I immediately spent 2 hours messing with all the card combos in this game. Looking forward to the full release!
I love Manly's videos. His voice and commentary give off a very casual feel. Love the stupid corny jokes.
It's interesting how often I pass on a jacksepticeye or Markiplier video because "I already saw Manly play that" lmao
The demo seems very promising so far! Pony Island was a favorite game of mine and there are parts of Inscryption that remind me of PI as well. Excited for the full game to come out
I love the fact that you cut in what should have been a win and show what happened.
I love this game :) unique concept.
Looking forward to the full game!
I just recently rewatched the demo video you made of this game and I cannot be more happy to see this in my subscriptions
Imagine this game having a PvP. Like another player being selected to use it's cards. Or you having the option to invade others game to try to get new cards and itens.
Wow this looks amazing, and full release is tomorrow!
Hype
Hey! Speaking of upcoming games, ENA: Dream BBQ is going to be a game! I look forward to watching you play that when it comes out! :)
this game looks so dang interesting!! can't wait to watch you play the whole thing once it comes out!
The title be like: "dont go to the shadow realm, jimbo"
this looks like an extremely fun and mysterious card game! im looking forward to play this day one.
ACTIVE: Jax enters *Evasion*, a defensive stance, for 2 seconds, causing all non-turret basic attacks against him to be dodged. Jax also takes 25% reduced damage from all champion area of effect abilities. *Counter Strike* can be recast after 1 second.
At the end of the duration, Jax stuns all nearby enemies for 1 second and deals physical damage to them, increased by 20% for each attack dodged, up to a 100% increase.
OMG I'm so stoked! Or should I say "stoat" (I know it doesn't fully work lol) for the full release!
I seriously can't wait for the full game, absolutely loved Sacrifices Must Be Made and was waiting for it. With this new name and now even a release date, this game is one step from becoming my fav card game, all about it is just so incredibly unique and lovely even tho it's really simple
Edit: just noticed Sacrifices was a prototype, still both versions are incredible
It will become more complex as you progress, like in pony island.
@@hellfirebrochannel7708 oh, ik, I'm talking about simplicity not in a bad way, but more of complete opposite to what ygo has become nowadays
It's not a bad thing really, I like it being easy to get a hold of, sorry if it sounded bad :')
@@canedaoinutil9395 I just warned you because you may be dissapointed that game lose its simplicity as you progress
@@hellfirebrochannel7708 ok ok, fair enough, but even without the simplicity, every other aspect I enjoyed about it still stands so, guess that's a-ok :')
Sacrifices must be made was the game that got me into your channel fulltime haha, glad to see another video of it!
'let's pop an emergency squirrel'
i wish i had an emergency squirrel.
I've been waiting for this ever since your last video! Thank you Manly!
He'll probably do another video after the full game is out.
Update: you can't use a 4 power wolf turn 1, it just fills with bears as usual
@@greensceptile9843
I played the secret stage in the demo and there is some secret dialog that he should see.
Devolver digital is helping make them game. They are VERY known for their rouges! The "game master" also dose reference it early in the game
OMG I LOVE THIS GAME!! so happy you are continuing to play it, I really can't wait to see you play the full game SO VERY Unique!!
You acctualy see a lot more of the game if you lose on the final fight
Bruhhhhh I remember watching Sacrifices Must be Made ages ago and loving it, super psyched to see a full version! Maybe we’ll see a series from our favorite manly badass hero…?
"by Pony Island Creator" never fails to make me click on a video. I still want someone to solve that game he made where every game main character trope was an actual character and they were all stuck in the same hotel.
It's a very lame game,. Probably why nobody's played it lol
@@TemmiePlays i found it interesting. I just wished more people dug into the mystery of it.
Literally can’t wait for this
Loved “sacrifices must be made.”
if you loose both of your candles, you'll lose the game, but then, there's more content
That was AMAZING! Can't wait! Thank you, Manly! I'm looking forward to see you play this game!!!
I play pot of greed, it allows me to draw two cards!!
YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO PLAY THE NEW ONE OF THIS!! So excited 😭💕
Can someone make a PDF of these cards? id like to play IRL
You made me pre order this game. Something I thought I never do after Kingdom Hearts 3, Cyberpunk, and Vampire the Masquerade.
I love this game and can't wait for it to come out. Thanks for not only introducing me to this game but also make me want to play it.
Manly, Would you consider playing Eastward? It is an amazing game. I think its being severely overlooked and it deserves some eyes.
The playthrough I've been waiting for. Thank you for providing, Manly, I'm real chuffed about this!
Wasn't the demo for this called "sacrifices must be made' ? Honnestly that was kind of much better name for it unless the full game reveal a cmpletly new theme.
Sacrifices must be made was a contest entry. Players liked it so much author decided to turn it into full game.
Normally I don't care too much on multiple demo vids, but this one really got me curious about the game.
Manly played it before it was cool.
It's so nice to see the trailer for this full game, since the prototype playthrough was what introduced me to Manly's Channel :D
day 216 of suggesting to manly to play lydia bluebell's midnight train
I think ive been waiting on this video for like a year now
Thank you manly
Honestly I think this would work really well irl as like a D&D style card game, or maybe just like a multiplayer VS where one person is the guy and the other is the player
But I do think that forcing you to lose on the bear part to introduce the candle system kinda sucked, maybe having special dialogue if you do win like "You managed to take down the bears, but their claws will leave lasting injuries without proper treatment" or something like that and THEN make the player bring the candle over to then put one out or something
OOOOO, I've really been looking forward to this one, Manly! Thanks so much for playing it :)
oh hell yeah, I've been wanting this game so bad after i saw Manly played the demo version!
what was it called? Sacrifice must be made?
man i love your content manly, glad i got recommended your content after all these years
I won't lie, that forced loss blows. Why make it hard but winnable and then force the loss anyways? Just make it obviously unwinnable. Love the rest of the game tho.
I think it's to mentally establish as the Stoat says that the Forest Spirit is going to cheat and not play fair. This comes up later in the boss fight where he flips the chess board and says "lol I no dead yet I wipe out all your standing cards"
Think of it like how Yugi kept going up against magical cheating enemies and had to get creative around their cheating gimmicks.
There was apparently a week long arg that just ended for this game, went to the discord, expressed dissapointment that the arg was just that short, and got put on blast by the staff and community of the official discord for this game.... I've always loved these games, but idk about funding such a toxic community like that
Something I noticed. When picking a card to sacrifice to play another card, all of the cards on the board begin to quiver.
Pretty good example at 11:17. Seeing the Wolf quiver like that kinda caught me off-guard.
