My guess is that they used the chip on the the WPS 2800s for the Thunderbolt recording. The Vortex may not see the activation, since it is for voice, which it lacks, and not alert. Notice how smooth the winddown is on this siren in wail.

Excuse me for asking but based on how they repeat like that, i'm taking it the other sirens i'm hearing are other whelens with imitation thunderbolt tones?

Why doesn't this Whelen have the Thunderbolt imitation drivers?

    • @MinecraftPro97k

is there a reason why so many big communities in Texas and Oklahoma have Whelen sirens like Dallas Fort Worth Oklahoma City Tulsa and Wichita Falls

Whelen makes one of the most reliable battery powered sirens. The Vortex is also one of the only sirens that can actually come close to replacing the Thunderbolt. Whelen also has a very good reputation when it comes to trouble shooting and maintenance repair work. And for larger cities whelen's two-way systems are really easy to use and provides the user with lots of feedback on the siren and its status. There's obviously something about Whelen that the bigger cities like.

+Noah I wish they did alert.. But yea I'd prefer the t-128 more but like I said it beats a 2001! Haha

      +Noah I don't know but all I have to say I'd like take a t-128 over a 2001 same with the 508, I'll take that over a 2001
