The fun thing, the comic had a perfect Diaspro redemption arc. In one of the late stories she enrolls into Alfea, and Bloom immediately freaks out because she thinks she’s only there to steal back Sky. Diaspro actually requests to meet her in person and make one thing perfectly clear: she’s only there to practice her magic and become a better fairy, thus a stronger queen. She has accepted that Sky doesn’t love her and she’s fine with it, she and Bloom actually become friends for a while with her inviting her to hang out with the Winx. The plot of the episode involves the Trix placing a spell on her house so that she feels incredibly sick whenever she steps inside the gates and the only thing that makes her feel better is when Sky is there. They do this to prey on Bloom’s insecurities and make her feel more alone. She eventually decides to be mature and enter the house to talk to Diaspro, and the moment she steps into the gates she immediately feels a magic force emanating from them. While they talk they are told on the phone that Sky’s ship crashed during a field mission and he’s on his own in a dangerous place, and the climax of the episode has the two women fighting side-by-side to protect Sky from a giant spider. Not the most original plot but it treated the character way better.
Oh wow! I haven’t seen any of the comics but I had heard she does have a redemption arc. I really wish Diaspro would get her Enchantix to verify her truly becoming a better person and is truly past Sky. Like I’ve seen a lot of gorgeous fanart of Diaspro’s Enchantix too
@@ahstiasummers5583 The contrast between Bloom (a common girl from a not-so-well off family who can't afford to buy her a moped without saving first) and Diaspro (a literal princess) was perfectly sufficient to create friction.
The sad thing about Diaspro is that she's used as a plot device, nothing else. She's not a real character, she's not an actual human being, she's just some stereotypical dumb mean blonde whose sole purpose is to steal away the man of the main girl. The writers only bring her back when they're running out of plot ideas and don't know how to pad the season, instead of you know, actually bothering to develop her and show us more about her character OUTSIDE of all this Sky and Bloom love triangle drama??
@@CrazyAlienLady051 Either way, their actions still aren't ok. Bloom shouldn't have assaulted Diaspro in front of everybody, Sky should have been honest to both Diaspro and Bloom about who of the two he truly stands by, and his father? He shouldn't have been a crap of a parent to his own son! Just saying.
I was obsessed with her design as a kid. I loved her color scheme, her hair, dress, everything. The way her powers manifest was always cool to me. I remember wanting her to transform more just because of her design.
the thing about her design that makes it so good is it's a bit more subtle that the VERY SPARKLY WITH VERY STRONG COLORS if the winx Diaspro has some white and red, no sparkles her wings are unique aswell she was killing the style 😍😍
I’m guessing the reason mirta was left in the dust was because she looked a lot like will from W.I.T.C.H so they most likely decided to scrap her as a Winx since she was in fact going to be the 6th Winx way before Aisha was planned, but tbh I’m glad she wasn’t included since she would’ve received the same treatment as Roxy tbh.
Diaspro season 1 was done so dirty. From her perspective she was raised to marry him, engaged, cheated on and attacked publicly… then had to deal with everyone going: “UWU this girl is more special than Diaspro and she’s so cute with Sky” And in later seasons she still got kidnapped due to association. It would’ve been so good if she repented after potioning Sky and gave up half way kind of like Anastasia in Cinderella III.
@@emilyhu7463 actually she left Magix and had her flame stolen by the trix. on domino sky told bloom he broke it off with diaspro. the time they were'engaged' again he was under valtors spell
Was anyone else dissapointed that they took a fairy with such a cool design and reduced her to ignorant villain? I loved her gem-based powers! At the very least Bloom's lack of expulsion should have been contingent on some character growth, like her genuinely apologizing to Diaspro, both of them realizing Sky was trash, then Diaspro advocating for Bloom to be allowed back into Alfea. Imagine her and Stella going back and forth on how to teach Bloom about being royal post-princess reveal. The power they could've held as friends 🥲
Diaspro had so much potential as a character even id they *did* want to keep her as a instrument for Bloom to doubt herself. Imagine if Diaspro had actually gained her Enchantix in season 3 by saving Sky before Bloom went to Pyros. It would have taken Bloom at least 2-3 episodes to get over the fact that Diaspro, of all people, achieved Enchantix before her. But honestly, I like your headcanons so much more, Stella and Diaspro could have been amazing friends since they have so much in common.
@@floraflowers One thing i never understood was Sky is from the planet Eraklion and i read a long time ago that Diaspro was from a planet called Calisto and that planet's magic was diamonds and thats why she's a princess she's the princess from that planet! Am i wrong or im just dreaming?
@@RenaceHighblue I recall that they delved into this in the comics. Sky is from Eraklyon and Diaspro is from Isis but Isis is more like a minor kingdom in Eraklyon and so, theoretically, Diaspro is also from Eraklyon. That's something that's a bit of a plot hole within the Winx universe - you have different planets but, somehow, the capital/main kingdom is named after the planet and that's how you have the planet Solaria but also the Kingdom of Solaria. But that brings the question - does that make Stella the princess of the whole planet of Solaria or are there other minor princes and princesses on Solaria? It's indeed a bit too vague. Fun fact: People who grew up with the 4Kids version came up with somewhat of a theory. Because 4Kids renamed the girls' homes, Bloom's home planet would be Domino but her kingdom would be Sparx. Flora is from the Fifth Moon of Marigold but it also has a kingdom named Linphea, and so on.
@@emiliereal1520 Lowkey, based on this kind of marriage structure, I could get behind Bloom and Diaspro as the latter's true desires as opposed to being married to a man for business reasons.
Not only is Diaspro's treatment unfair to Diaspro herself, it's also unfair to Bloom who never gets to gain enough confidence in Sky or herself to stand above high school jealousy drama.
On a previous comment, I talked about how I didn’t like Bloom and Sky’s “relationship”. In it I addressed the problem with Diaspro and Sky. I really liked Diaspro when I was a kid, but now rewatching the series I felt pity for her. She lost her boyfriend, got whooped by Bloom, and basically lost her status. But the thing is, this was mostly Sky’s fault. I know some of you are gonna say, “It’s also Bloom’s fault to for attacking her”. But if Sky never lied to the both of them, then this would have been avoided. Yes I believe Bloom should have gotten in trouble for the stunt she pulled. All in all, Sky is the real reason why Diaspro is the way she is now.
both Bloom and Diaspro should've broken up with Sky over that but, I don't blame Bloom or Sky. I personally blame Sky's father. he even admitted why he didn't want Sky to be with Bloom in the movie. Sky's dad was horrible tbh.He didn't even support Sky when he got a job on Earth.
In the 4kids version miss faragonda did punish them saying they ruined the day of the royals and that it was grounds for expulsion and when the girls remind her that the boys lied to them but miss faragonda tells them that was no excuse I thought she was being harsh because it was only bloom who ruined the event all the other girls did was sneak in which she and Griselda didn't bring up and also Bloom thought diaspro was icy in disguise even though she shouldn't have jumped to conclusions the whole magic thing was new to her
You know I earnestly don't believe anyone is really 'at fault' here. Sky was going so far as to hide his actual identity for his safety, he really isn't at liberty to just out that information willy nilly. On top of that everyone assumes that Sky knew disaspro thought of this as more than a business arrangement; he clearly doesn't think of it that way, why would he assume diaspro does? Bloom was being actively tormented by witches, and didn't know who or what to trust. I do not blame her for snapping and lashing out. And then there's just diaspro being a victim of circumstances. Girl deserved better. Like this is just poor communication, not malicious manipulation
Yes but she went too far in season 6, I would've liked her more if she'd just moved on with her life, and found someone else but did she? No, not only she tried to brainwash Sky, she also tried to kill Bloom in season 6. Honestly, I still don't understand why people try to defend her it makes me sick. Although one could argue that she was a victim, but the writers had to villainize her after season 3 for no reason she had the option of moving on with her life and becoming friends with bloom but no, and also bloom should have at least apologized to her for stealing her man that she was supposed to see when she rescued her from those criminals but did they? No she just continued to be selfish and ungrateful honestly, I'm in a love/hate relationship with both of them rn tbh I'm neutral with both characters Some people also hate Sky for "cheating" in Diaspro in the first season but personally, I dont consider this cheating, he was not even in a relationship with bloom, and his arranged marriage was forced. He made it clear that he does not even love diaspro, he didn't even love her before he met bloom Although there are people who say that developing feelings for someone else while being in a forced arranged marriage is cheating but idk and Disapro also literally called bloom a peasant when she bumped into her, I hate people who do that
@@AnimeBlaze-qi4jx fax ,and the funniest thing is diaspro was evil to begin with even before that drama ,woman called those bellow her peasents ,was madly obessed over a guy who not only never loved her truly but also was willingly cheating on her behind her back under a different name which she never called him out for because she only wanted his wealth and status like any gold digger would ,she was still insecure of bloom even when bloom saved her from pirates who kidnapped her in s2 ,tried to enthrall sky with valtor's which not only failed but also had sky hate and imprison her ,was still insecure and immature towards bloom in s5 to the point that she didn't let erakdylon ally with domino even though she willingly knew that tritannus would destroy the universe if the dimensions don't unite all just to spite bloom who was much of her superior in every way then in s6 she willingly allied with the trix to kill bloom out of jealously and even enthralled thoren (sky's cousin) to kill his soon to be sister in law bloom which got diaspro humiliated later on when she tried to get under his nerves ,then in s8 (the worst season) she got away at the end after all the bs she pulled and lets not forget even in s6-8 she was still stuck with magic winx while bloom and the others even earned their cosmix which only shows how selfish ,vain and pathetic diaspro is... I agree with you ,it's very crazy to see so many man-children simping and overprotecting an incel like diaspro who will never reedem herself 🤦🏻♂️
Honestly, I think they just straight up forgot that Bloom was the one who instigated the violence against Diaspro (even in the first few seasons), and treated her like she knew Skye didn't love her even before he started dating Bloom, but was deceiving herself bc she loved him. Also, idk if Skye could've ended the engagement before then, but I haven't watched it in a while lol.
Sky might not have been able to end the engagement, judging by his parent's attitude in their appearances throughout the series. Though revealing that within the show would have made Sky more sympathetic. Without that context, he's just as guilty as Bloom for Diaspro getting attacked. I bet his parents gave him quite the dressing down after everything that happened at red fountain!
Oh yes Diaspro.. Even as a child I felt bad for her. I mean, I agree, she’s not an amazing person and did awful things but imagine losing the life you’ve dreamt like that, so even though her future actions are not excusable, they’re still understandable.
I am all for Flora and Diaspro being besties. Also Diaspro could have been a very interesting character. There are so many people who could’ve been so interesting. Diaspro, Mirta, and so many more Also Diaspro is def the victim. Attacked by Bloom, kidnapped, constantly having to see the person she loved leave her behind and lost any friends she had probs.
the fact that bloom crashed a whole ass ceremony because of a guy she barely knew and back then, sky and bloom weren't even official, so bloom had no effing right to slap diaspro around just because she thought she was Icy in disguise (lol wth) and get super jealous because a girl happened to breathe around her crush lmao
I see that as more of a consequence sense thats what pushed her to leave Alfea and therefore get her dragon flame stolen however I still think Headmistress Feragohanda (no idea id I spelt that right-) should have punished her in some way or another possibly by revolking her powers or making her help clean up Red Fountain
I want a Diaspro redemption where she studies in Lightrock to become a councillor to help counsel and help those who have a background of abuse. We could see how she has grown since the “potion” incident.
The last scene with Diaspro in S6 feels so surreal. Like, you think that there’s no way a group of writers got together, made Daphne yeet Diaspro off-screen, and then never show what happened to her. It makes you feel like you blinked and missed a scene or something. But nope. That’s the ending we give to a character who tries to kill the MC by throwing her in a literal hell pit. She gets yeeted by Daphne and then just falls out of the plot entirely.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind a storyline in the og winx exploring Diaspro and Sky's childhood together, and show how they were good friends, but inevitably not a matching couple. During the potion plot in season 3, Diaspro could reflect about how the artificial love she inforced on Sky felt hollow (or maybe she's secretly horrified or guilty about what she has done), which can lead to her further reflecting her actions after she's punished for her crimes at the end of season 3.
Diaspro could do a bit of soul searching during her banishment at the monastery, and realize that what she truly needed wasn't Sky, but someone who can love her as much as she loves him. Maybe she found her true love in one of the red fountain students (preferably a peasant to complete her arc). After many months, she comes back to eraklion a changed woman, and after proving herself in front of the royal family, she restores her honor and gains the title of the royal advisor. Her and Sky's relationship would stay a little cold for a while but they eventually reconcile. She and Bloom would eventually face each other, both apologizing for how their teenager selves act now that they are full fletched adults - Diaspro for her jealousy, and Bloom about for impulsive nature that led to all this mess.
Even if they didn't do the storyline, I'd be fine with Diaspro being plopped in with Charmix and her story happened off-screen. Just show the side characters growing rather than stuffed in a closet until the writers need them to pick up where their stories left off 2 seasons ago
Diaspora was actually a princess from a kingdom on Eraklyon so it make sense. I wish they added it to make more sense. I wish they kept how Diaspro after she had that talk with Flora. She would finally break away from Sky, be her own fairy and then later on find someone better.
I really wish there would have been a scene with sky and bloom realizing that while they love each other, and they’d never changed what happened between them, that they both admit it was unfair to diaspro to simply shove her aside. Even in prison (when it mattered that she tried to enchant the Sky), sky goes to apologize to her, whether she wants it or not. And I imagine the mixed emotions someone like her would have. I would have also would have liked to see something where Diaspro admits that she doesn’t know if it was love per say with Sky, but that she definitely felt far more comfortable around him than anyone else in her kingdom, and that she felt when Like a failure when Sky snubbed her for a commoner from a non-magic demension. It’d be a breif comedic moment where she also adds that while it still stung, she was slightly glad that bloom was a princess, and one of an allied planet, cause at least it was someone in her league.😂 (That’s partially why my sister and I made jokes about Bloom being a low key attention ho, many years ago when the series started😂 There’s also an abriged series of season 2 where bloom literally is one, and it makes WAY more sense than it should🤣.)
I mean is it bad to say that I sort of sided with Bloom’s father in the movie? Remember when Blooms dad tried to put her in an arranged marriage after expressing his distaste for Sky after making Bloom upset when in reality, it was just Sky’s father being douchey trying to cover his own hide after selling Domino out to the witches to make sure his planet was kept safe?
@@CrazyAlienLady051 I can’t really blame Sky’s dad for what he did. It wasn’t just his life one the line, it was his whole planet. Even if he and Bloom’s dad, plus the Company of Light fought the Three Ancestral Witches, it’s not guaranteed their planets would be safe. So instead of one planet being lost, two would be. (Also I don’t remember if the Company of Light was created yet. If it wasn’t, then it would just be Sky and Bloom’s dad, and maybe some other people. Their odds would be worse.) Doesn’t justify his actions though. Anyways though, it’s pretty reasonable to side with Bloom’s dad. He makes a pretty good case. What if Sky is like his father, and would leave Bloom in her greatest time of need?
@@aisha5156 Also, they could've written Diaspro and Bloom like Charlotte and Tiana in Princess And The Frog. Her and Navine was in an arranged marriage because her dad wanted her to marry a prince and Navine's parents wanted him to marry someone who was wealthy. at the end of the movie, Charlotte understood that Navine and Tiana were In love so she said no to the marriage but, still offered to help them become human. Because she and Tiana where still friends. once again, we seriously need to stop with the spoiled rich brat becoming evil trobe. Charlotte was rich and her dad was the mayor but, she did have some sympathy for her friend. If I rewrote this, I would've had Bloom become friends with Diaspro. Diaspro realizing that Sky loved Bloom thus calling off her marriage and finding another prince to marry while still being friends with them.
@@CrazyAlienLady051 he did have a point to. I mean, for all Bloom’s dad knew, Sky could’ve had the same qualities as the man who betrayed him. Her dad didn’t realize until later that he probably would have done the same thing. He had 2 children to boot, not 1, to look after.
@@CrazyAlienLady051 Diaspro DID have that potential as well. I’ve always imagined her as what Stella could have been if her parents hadn’t divorced and could stand each other. They would have probably put more time into constantly watching and grooming Stella into a ‘perfect’ princess, like Diaspro was. It also helped Stella that her dad was really fond of her and similar personalities. He didn’t want to or see the need to stifle such a vibrant personality, And I’ve always been glad for it.
Honestly I wish she would've just made up with Bloom eventually. They don't even need to get along. They should've both been pissed at Sky in the first place, and when she gets tricked by Valtor people should've taken that into consideration.
And I just realized, after all these years, bloom literally committed a few crimes to get with Sky…holy crap, fairies really DO get away with all kinds of sh*t in this series.🤣🤣🤣👍💀
@@mythicalmagix no, I didn’t. It’s just bloom technically committed a couple of felonies to be with Sky, and Heraclyon never did anything for attacking a crown princess of one their most powerful kingdoms. I just find that kind of funny in a sense. Meanwhile a witch would have suffered the consequences for the same actions.
They did her dirty in season 8 - they removed her powers & fairy form - they made her still be obsessed with Sky - it would be better if she worked for Valtor to get revenge on Bloom and Sky
I’d like to think that the planets in Winx Club work like countries: there’s a main kingdom, and several smaller kingdoms, like how presidents and mayors work here
to me, it has always seemed like she's been taught that the only thing that matters in her life is getting married to sky, like she probably feels that her worth as a person depends on whether she succeeds in that or not, this is what she bases her self-esteem and sense of self on it would've been cool if they had given her a redemption arc and shown the effects of psychological abuse she's been though, like why she feels, thinks and behaves the way she does, it would've shown how dark this entire royalty and marriages thing is she could've grown as a character so much, she could've apologized to bloom and sky for everything and she could find things to care about that are not sky, she could genuinely fall in love with somebody or earn her enchantix by sacrificing herself and protecting somebody from eraklyon (idk if it should be sky or not, she could earn it protecting sky and bloom because she feels guilty over what she's done and wants to redeem herself but she also could earn it protecting somebody completely different to show that she has life outside of sky, that she has moved on and grown as a character) like she had so much potential but the writers decided nahhh she's gonna be a 1-dimensional hate sink with no redeeming qualities
Diaspo's an interesting character to me. She's haughty, vain, sophisticated, mysterious, and has cool gem powers. If Diaspro's character was handled better by the writers, she could have been one of the best characters in the entire series. She could have been similar to Asami Sato from The Legend of Korra.
Maybe someone will buy the rights to Winx club and do a reboot where Sky and Diaspro don't love each other and try to break the news of ending the engagement to their parents Sky forgets to tell Bloom and she ends up attacking Diaspro but Diaspro tries to explain. Bloom becomes embarrassed and ghosts Sky and Diaspro tries to fix things. Or it could be different. Sky apologises to both girls and tells Diaspro that he never loved her, Bloom takes responsibility and apologises for the misunderstanding, and Diaspro pretends she understands and accepts their love for each other, she's secretly angry because Sky chose a different woman over her. She tries to break them up and becomes an enemy, but in the long run, she soon has an epiphany and sees that she can't force someone to love her. She and Bloom become friends and becomes a member of the Winx. I guess the writers were so focused on the story of Bloom saving her home realm they didn't bother to focus on giving evil individual characters a redemption arc. At least My Little Pony Friendship is Magic did their characters better, like Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, and Diamond Tiara I found a fanfiction story from someone named Akela Victoire who wrote about Diaspro and Bloom becoming friends www.fanfiction.net/s/9135404/5/Burning-Gem
Diaspro has a lot of similarities to Chloe from Ladybug. They interact with Sky/Bloom & Adrien/Marinette in very similar ways. They only differ since Chloe had some redemption before the regression, but the writers on both series just have them for pointless drama and tension
@@Rosegirl398 The creator Thomas Astruc has a real hate boner towards Chloe. The show created a never mentioned sister of hers who is just automatically liked by everyone, gets a Miraculous in just her second appearance (of course being given the Bee Miraculous) and the show beats it over your head that she is better than Chloe.
@@JayRedGear I know. Zoe literally came out of nowhere. Now if we had at least heard of Zoe that would’ve been fine, but nope Zoe comes and the shows say Chloe has a sister.
Actually the story is pretty closed after the three seasons and SotLK. Season 4 is good enough, (at least the half of it) but the fifth one makes no sense at all
Can you do a video about Mirta being a winx member? We talk about Roxy being a Winx Member. But what about the pumpkin girl who helped Winx countless times?
@@fnafsummoners5679 I've been working on a story where Mirta becomes Winx #6 after she transfers (though she stays a witch in it, we need more witch-positive stories within this fandom), but it's gonna be a while before I start publishing it.
This video was needed, she really is a tired character and I feel bad for her. She's a victim of the writers inability to create a new antagonist/annoying character. I really thought she would get a redemption in that season 2 arc but no. They are literally dragging her for filth at this point. Always enjoy your Winx videos tons! Just haven't commented in a while. Gotta leave some more feedback, love these discussions!
Diaspro is a character that I think she is in between being a fairy and a witch. It is an interesting idea that she is a fairy instead of a witch. And she also didn't became a witch in some moment that she could turn into one. Which makes me think about this show what is the difference between being a fairy and a witch. Make me question more what witches actually do after they graduate from Cloudtower.
I believe Fairies and Witches do have the same power levels and duties, they just draw power from different sources. But there's nothing to do with good and evil, as we have seen evil fairies and good witches.
I have a theory: everything post-season 4 is Bloom's nightmare because she has PTSD from all the battles of the first 4 seasons. She dreams about how she and everyone else become robots, each programmed to narrow down their behaviour to the three main personality traits that have been picked up on during their actual adventures. Diaspro is unfortunately not in Bloom's best memory, but Bloom obviously sees herself as flawless, so that's why she becomes a Mary Sue in her own little imagination. And what makes her nightmare the worst is that she and her friends are back in school and stuck there for eternity.
Diaspro could write a tell-all book, or release an album about everything. People would buy it. Maybe do both. Express her feelings in writing and music.
Honestly I'm so sick and tired of the ex trying to steal the boy becuause it's boring in the end at least to me. Also Sky was at fault to for not telling Bloom in the first place.🐻
Diaspro is basically bizarro Stella. Like, had Stella not had the amazing friends and support system that she had, she probably would’ve ended up like Diaspro. In short, live action Stella from Fate is basically Diaspro.
The way you talk about Disapro having the potential to be better written, or a subversion of the mean ex girlfriend trope got me thinking, have I’ve seen this in other shows? Then I was like Rue from Princess Tutu is definitely this trope done really well. She’s honestly one of my favorite characters in the show. Hell that show subverts many tropes, mainly fairytale ones. Don’t know if you’ve watched it, but I’d highly recommend it. The creator, Ikuko Itoh even worked on the 90s Sailor Moon anime.
Honestly, she could have been a really great character had we seen more of her and gave her a redemption arc, and actually had a great senario where bloom could give her a proper apology for everything and showed her moving on and finding a great match, it would be such a satisfying part of the show
I think it’d be cool if she just kept being the victim of worse and worse circumstances until she became an all out villain whose whole motivation just becomes revenge on bloom. Not even caring about consequence or the potential reciprocation of sky, just “you ruined my life, you dismissed me, i want to hurt you for it.”
They just need to let diaspro move on even if I don’t like her she deserves a happy ending also If seasons 1 thru 4 are the golden era I like the think of season 5 as the silver era(only season 5 because I think atleast every winx fan can agree that despite its problems it’s the last decently watchable winx season)and season 6 thru 8 and possibly 9 as the bronze era also side note I heard rumors of a winx season 10 and now I’m like omg they will never let this show rest
As an OG Winx fan. No season 5 was awful. The girls turning 16 again, being students again, Roxy being left out, the girls’ personalities are basically the same and they act like literally robots/dolls.
I honestly think that the comics handled Diaspro the best. She was actually treated with respect as a character and more of general rival for Bloom than just a love rival. There's a lot of things I think the early Winx Club comics either did better than the show or expanded on. I hope that Thomas gets around to talking about the comics because its a part of the franchise no one ever talks about that I think is underrated.
Didn't they ruin her character in the comics too? I vaguely remember an issue where things settled with Bloom and it seemed like they would almost be friends, but then suddenly in another issue, she said something about how she still loved Sky and went back to being that nasty version of herself that we all hate Rainbow for.
@@floraflowers Tbf,I've haven't read that far into the comics, but I do remember that the S 1-3 comics treated her fairly well and better than what the show did. I wouldn't be surprised if past that Diaspro's character dropped since the comic started to drop off to.
I don't mind Diaspro not being a good person, but having her just be a bitter ex is so dumb. Bloom and Sky should have apologized for attacking her and leading her on and they should have squashed that whole drama. Instead it became this whole uninteresting mess! Or, if the show had any sense of nuance, they could have made it so she still cared about Sky while being happy he was with someone he truly loves
I personally think Diaspro should stopped be used as a evil bad guy. Because I like her way better then Bloom but not as much of the other characters in Winx.
Sky’s cousin is hella tapped, like she was unconscious and you want to throw her in fire. The fact that Daphne didn’t save Bloom, up to season 5, Bloom wasn’t that annoying and she was likeable. Daphne didn’t seem to upset, and married the guy who almost killed her sister. 💀
I really hate how Sky cheated on Diaspro with no remorse and turned everyone against her with lies. Diaspro really deserves to be treated better and given a chance to prove herself. Sky is a liar and a traitor who doesn’t deserve to be with Bloom. I truly believe Bloom should have stayed with Andy instead because he’s not a liar and a traitor like Sky.
@@chideraevelyn5386 Sky lied about Diaspro to Bloom and the rest of the club. He’s a huge liar and a cheater. I’m sure Bloom would have changed her mind if she discovered how Sky had been lying to everyone.

@@Mariana-qk9qh Diaspro and Sky were actually childhood friends but Sky lied to Bloom about her by pretending not to know her and turning everyone else against her with more lies. Sky doesn’t deserve to be in any relationship for what he did. He’s the real villain who was never struck by karma.
I wish Diaspro was more like Lotte from Princess In The Frog. Especially when she was just used to make sure Bloom doesn’t marry Sky after his father sold her planet off to the witches. I’m sort of tired of the spoiled rich kid becomes villain out of desperation trobe. Also I sort of sided with blooms dad when he didn’t want Sky to be with Bloom my more after making her upset even though it wasn’t really Sky’s fault. His father was just being an a hole after selling her home planet out to the witches so his planet can be safe. Bloom and Diaspro should’ve been friends at that point. And Chatta was right, the magic universe has other princes.
THANK YOU!!!! I have been saying this for years. All of the nuances you explored to her character (or the lack-there-of after S3) are so spot-on and exactly what I’ve been begging people to consider 😭😭😭 but what we can all agree on is that sky is the literal worst 😅😅😅 I also physically laughed out loud when you said your S6 rewrite will be available in 2052 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Fantastic content as always, friend! I also love how we both released Diaspro related content in the same week 🤣🤣🤣 go us 🎉
As someone that really didn’t care for Diaspro at all, this video shed some light on WHY I didn’t care about her so much. She really does need more development besides being a plot device fr. She reminds me of the villains of RWBY that don’t really need to be there that just start up either drama or fan service.
Chloe and Adrien from miraculous, Diaspro and Roxy from Winx club! Good lord! I'm seeing a pattern! Why are some of the best characters in shows done so dirty?!
If they wanted to keep Diaspro a villian- they could've used it as an opportunity to do- a dark fairy concept, like Bloom- but...like...in full control of herself(to an extent)
True words for Diaspro. #JusticeforDiaspro It was said in the comics that she also cared deeply for her people and wanted to do the very best for them. Also Ariana Grande voicing Diaspro is a true gem! ❤️🔥💖❤️🔥 PS Her never ending drama with Sky, according to Rainbow, is already so obnoxious!
I agree 100% Diaspro deserved so much better. Your rewrite of season 5 has inspired me to start my own Winx club rewrite starting from season 1. I made her Sky and Brandon childhood friends and Stella also knows her since Diaspro is noble. She is actually in love with Sky even though there marriage is arranged and she knows Sky feelings aren't as strong as hers and when Bloom comes into the picture it finally opens her eyes to the truth. She doesn't blame Bloom and in the final battle she fights alongside Sky and the rest of the Winx. Instead of it just being Sky and Bloom on a solo adventure in the end I included Diaspro and it's here that Bloom and Diaspro talk about what happened and Bloom apologizes Sky apologizes as well for leading them both on. In the end Diaspro and Sky are still engaged to be married since there planet is still in the middle of a cival war but it's in name only and all three of them are friends Bloom stating that she wants to start her friendship with Sky from scratch since it was formed on a foundation of lies. In season 2 Diaspro decided to attend Alfea much to everyones surprise and it's here that we go into her back story...and yes she does become a part of the club along with a former witch turned fairy.
I always wondered why Diaspro was allowed back on Eraklyon after S3. Until I found out that S5 was a reboot of the series that only mentioned seasons 1 & 2; that's why Tritannus was said to be the greatest threat since the Ancestral Witches because, as far as the writers of S5 were concerned, S3 didn't exist.
It is more interesting in the comics because it gives you (at least implicity) a lil bit of diaspro's story. [Tw: my english is bad af] In issue 15, Diaspro's family visits Red Fontain for an IDK party, And it is revealed that she LOVES SKY but she seems more aware that her relationship to sky is a political tool that seeks to benefit both families. She even seems to be pressured to follow that commitment, that even her mother pressures her that she Must continue to be with sky because they have sacrificed a lot to her, so she can't ruined it because of her incompetence (damn family abuse). Sky's mother also tells him that although she understands that he is in love with bloom, HE IS F A PRINCE, and he must think about the prosperity of their kingdom and her duties and responsibilities. But then he doesn't give a shit and ditch diaspro for bloom (And later have a beef with him because he's only with her because now she's famous for defeating the trix DAMN IT SKY) Later, a dragon kidnaps Diaspro by accident and Bloom follows her to rescue her. In that scenario, they have a truce and they don't really seem to hate each other that much, and this is a very curious aspect, because if we think the circumstances were different and if their feelings with sky didn't get in the way, they would have been friends( WASTED POTENTIAL FOR BLOOM AND DIASPRO FRIENDSHIP). the winx and specialists come to the rescue. bloom and dispro are hanging on a cliff. Sky runs to help them but HIM being a PUSSY :) can't even decide who to save first, that in the end the winxs and the rest of the specialists had to do it instead (common sky L) They have other issues wich im too lazy to write but in resume the girls(diaspro and bloom) losing their dignities cuz they can't live without a f white boy like sky, whose personality is more bland than an unseasoned chicken with a side of burn potatoes, and is so pathetic in general. There is an arc where Eraklyon goes on a war, idk why or when the timeline is kinda confusing since the issues are mixing it, but the kingdom sucks so you get the idea. Sky, brandon and diaspro's family support the royal gamily cuz IS THEIR F DUTY and they need to protect their home world. Bloom and sky have their cringy teenage break up(but it make kind of sense since sky could die or sum shit, still their relationship is so toxic like chernobyl with the jealousy and miscommunication). Bloom goes her main character syndrome like "omg what if diaspro goes with Sky" "what if she going to take advantage of the situation :''c " GIRL ERAKLYON IS ABOUT TO GO ON WAR. PUT YOUR MARY SUE ASS IN ANOTHER PLACE. Anyway. The kingdom somehow won(and maybe died a bunch of innocents and comrades). Sky and brandon returns. The winx organize a big party( cuz is the only thing they can do) and they come to their bfs. Diaspro goes uninvited with two guys who help sky by his side. Bloom is UPSET and she somehow made the problem about he "omg why is she here with those guys, we made this party for you guys, diaspro is an homewrecker i know you cheated on me, i know you have feelings for her" BITCH, THEY. WERE. AT. WAR. OF COURSE THEY WOULD BE TOGETHER CUZ THEY PURPOUSE WAS TO SURVIVE A WAR. IT IS A MIRACLE SKY AND BRANDON DON'T HAVE PTSD. And I know diaspro touch some nerve, but babygirl didn't deserve this treatment and it wasn't her fault the writer don't give her justice to her character. DAMN EVEN BRANDON was tired of stella and bloom BS. they disrepect their friends and make clear that they risk their live and it wasn't a kids game. "But omg they ruin the party >:c" WHO CARES ABOUT THE PARTY GIRL. Stella and bloom are so insensitive and insuffurable in this comic. Only my sweet flora have more than 3 neurons in her brain and wake up this lil brats for their bubble.
True, I hated how catty and jealous Bloom was in the comics. Like yeah, I can see her being a bit self-conscious given that there's probably a voice in the back of her head saying that Sky may be forced to leave her to marry Diaspro. But she takes it too far. And comics Stella having less trust in Brandon is stupid. Since in the cartoon she loves and trusts Brandon so much she risked dying for him. (I.e literally jumping off a cliff when he had fallen, and getting gravely ill when she went to downland. They even have a freaking game on how many people will flirt with them. Some people wished that they could have that high level of trust to know that even if they flirted back, they still belong together and won't do anything that goes beyond flirting.)
The only reason why the series made it excuable to treat Diaspro the way they did (esp the part where she is attacked out of nowhere by Bloom in Season 1), is because they made it looked like she is a bratty, snobby, rude and mean princess, so she deserved what she got, no apologies or redemption arc needed. All that was her 'punishment' of being the rude bratty princess that she was. But still, if someone is being mean, it still isn't a good reason to attack them out of nowhere and then just be like meh whatever about it later on. But yeah, I agree with this video, after the season 3 thing where she went too far in teaming up with Valtor and got banished whatnot, in the later seasons, they should really stop using her as the same old plot device to create conflict as the crazy ex. That just made her super 1 dimensional. I really liked the other comments where they mentioned it would be a cool redemption arc of Diaspro earning her Enchantix later on to save Bloom and Sky, showing how she grown and learnt that not everything resvolves around herself. She can be reasoned with. (Eg the scene where she shares her story with Flora. and Flora being understanding. If Bloom could just try to talk to her in the same way instead of being insecure the moment she sees her, maybe things would have been better.) And yeah, Sky is just a dumb guy who cheated on her by not calling off the engagement before going after Bloom, even when he never had feelings for her from the start.
Thank you for making this video and for pointing out that 1.) it was never Diaspro's fault for being who she is 2.) that it was Bloom who antagonized her by attacking her first 3.) that Sky is a shallow jerk for ignoring Bloom when he thought that she was a witch. Buddy, you don't "love" Bloom, you only love her when you think she's a pretty fairy. Personally, I think it would have made more sense for Diaspro to successfully draw a wedge between Sky and Bloom and took advantage of his amnesia. Instead, Nickbow just threw it out of the window as soon as Sky and Bloom made fun of her for talking too much about herself. No wonder I felt bored when they tried to fix it by giving Diaspro a more prominent role in the second half of season 5.
Diasporo in Season 1: Snobby but ultimately well meaning Princess who loved Sky. Diasporo in every other season: BLOOM, MY LONG SHADOW!!! YOU HAVE STOLEN HIM AWAY FROM ME!!!
Honestly if you want stories that tackle Diaspro's type character POV, It's basically majority aristocratic villainess reincarnation isekai mangas out there The stories always starts with the main characters host body being the girl who is dumped out of nowhere by her fiancé's with a random girl
True, but I also like it when there is no Isekai. And just the villainess reincarnates to the past manwhas. Mainly since I'm getting tired of the same plotline in the Isekai ones, where the villainess falls in love with the old or new ML with it being mutual but tries to push them away just because she doesn't want to get in-between the "predetermined" relationship they'll have with a FL. Despite it being clear that the ML likes them and that the future has changed. In my opinion, Diaspro should follow the MC from "beware the villainess" example and cut Sky lose and marry someone else that'll give her the respect she deserves.
Did Bloom ever even apologize for the initial attack? 🤣 I don't remember, but it's definitely sad to see Diaspro was treated rather poorly and the writers making the audience believe, or attempting to shove it down your throat that Diaspro is the problem. Love this video! Very well thought out!
I'm currently doing a winx rewrite on my channel and this is a really great look at the dynamics between diaspro, bloom, and sky. when I get to drawing the specialists I plan on touching on sky's fear of his parents and his learned helplessness because of them. I also like to think that he and diaspro were good friends at least at some point, and that the reason he liked her and loves bloom is because of their tendency to not take shit from others and to stand up for themselves!
Why can't we have a arc for Dia that she has to move on and accept that Sky will never be hers and maybe she can be a badass princess on her own. Or even find a new person to love! And possibly pull a Sunset Shimmer that she's ashamed and embarrassed of everything that she did and knew she can't be forgiven but she would be given a second chance. And also maybe find someone to have her get therapy since it seems she has MAJOR abandonment issues.
Prince/Princess are not only reserved for the children of the King & Queen, it can also be an inherit title given to high standing members of the nobility/court - Diaspro wearing title of princess can either mean, she gained it from her family (without them being also King & Queen) or the title was given to her after the engagement was made official - because she was going to marry the crown prince PS.: Bloom is a homewrecker and Sky is a cheater '#Diasprodeservedbetter
I really agree with your take on Diaspro. Even in 4Kids, she was never a venomous jealous ex who was actually a villain, despite it never really shows her exasperating about feeling like a failure of a princess all because Sky doesn’t love her. Tbh I really, and I mean really wish Diaspro would get her Enchantix wings to serve as a great example she IS becoming a better person and is FINALLY over Sky. I always believed if she ever got the chance, it’d be through Sky, showing she is loves him as a good friend and not a one sided lover anymore. NGL its kinda a wonder she hasn’t hired someone to pretend to be her boyfriend in an attempt to get Sky jealous. I don’t really get the whole thing about the black unicorn in S8 letting only her ride him, unless it’s supposed to be a subtle hint about her past? In a way I kinda find Sky/Diaspro/Bloom in a way similar to Pocahontas/Kocuom/John Smith, considering Kocoum was promised her by her father and unfortunately never knew she just never felt the same way, and I do wonder if John Smith didn’t exist would she ever have the courage to tell him she can’t marry him because she’ll never feel the same way. Kocuom isn’t a villain and is both a protagonist but antagonist as he couldn’t stand seeing the only girl he wanted in love with a literal enemy. I do kinda wish the movie expanded more about her friendship with Kocuom to really hammer in she did try to see if she could be happy with him, just to find more things she doesn’t agree with. I’m kinda bummed the song Dancing to the Wedding Drum was deleted as it kinda cut out more of Kocuom’s personality making him merely look like the wrong man for her. Anyways, yes I do really love what you chose to do with Diaspro and I seriously hope she gets Enchantix in your rewrite please? I also don’t get how she’s a monarch of Erakleon either. I feel its a similar situation to in 4Kids Musa originally was a princess, and they changed her homeworld to Harmonia when Princess Galatea was introduced in S3, showing they’re both princesses from the same area, just different planets If anything I seriously hate how Diaspro is nothing more than an immature jealous ex who refuses to let go of Sky, and is treated as a constant problem in Sky and Bloom’s relationship. I do not like how Bloom in S8 was so mad at Sky when she knew full well what kind of person Diaspro is, and Sky has proven time and time again he loves ONLY Bloom. I do not like whenever Sky refuses to just tell Diaspro no, like when he defended her in S5 and Sky told Bloom to basically f*ck off.
I remember I never thought of Diaspro as a villain, partially because I didn't care about Sky and Bloom lmao. But I always related the most to Flora and I don't even truly see the Trix as villains. Once that whole "ancient three witches" thing came out I assumed they were following "their destiny" and were eventually gonna go through some sort of "well we still hate the winx but we don't wanna relive the same crap over again" plot, but lol I was wrong.
It's weird how my perspective on Diaspro has changed with time. When I was a kid, I thought she was just this bitchy character but now as an adult, I realize how 3 dimensional she was and that her reactions to story events were really natural and understandable. Diaspro had so much potential as a character and the writers fucked it all up because the constant shitting on her in Season 5 is low-key disturbing. She really deserved better. Also yeah, Seasons 1 - 4 and Movie 1 are the Golden Age of Winx and the only canon fans should give a shit about. Season 5 and onward (to me at least) are just non-canon like how the vast majority of Pokemon Movies are non-canon.
Me too. I hated her so much when I was little. But after researching on the internet more about Diaspo and watching this video, I started to sympathize/root for this character than Bloom (no offense Bloom fans).
I don’t really remember much about Diaspro as a kid aside for whatever reason I seriously thought she was Stella’s mom, so I figured with her b*tchy attitude in S3 (scene when she’s screaming at her maid) no wonder King Radius divorced her. But looking at her now, even in the cheesy 4Kids dub in the S2 episode she does say “I want to become a better ruler Flora!” Like verifying she wants to be a worthy queen or whatever to whoever she’s ruling. Like in the episode she isn’t even concerned about winning Sky, just about escaping the ninjas.
It's so weird that they sat there and tried to make Diaspro into the bad guy when Sky was the one that lied. Diaspro literally was dragged into a fight because she got attacked by a girlfriend her fiancé wasn't even supposed to have. But she's the jealous ex? Like Sky didn't even do her the dignity of breaking off the engagement before DATING SOMEONE ELSE.
My gosh you have no clue of how much I love this video!!! In my AU I also went for the Diaspro defense route and gave her her own storyline and made her more sympathetic. Idk if you are v familiar with the comics, but there Diaspro and Bloom are frienemies and you can see her parents and how much they pressure her to win over Sky. It's very sad to see tbh, specially because Diaspro confesses she doesn't care that much about the kingdom, but marrying the guy she loves.
It would make sense that she was hired as a liaison if she mind controlled the king, I’m not too fond of her myself but she should be *more* than a roadblock obstructing Bloom and Sky’s relationship. I would find it somewhat interesting if they gave Diaspro the same story as Stella in Fate where Stella suffers under the pressures of Luna, it wouldn’t excuse Diaspro of everything she’s done, but she deserves to at least get help, examine herself and move on from Sky. Hell, give her a girlfriend or a guy that treats her well and actually loves her for who she is.
If they wanted actual drama, they could've done something where maybe Sky was in danger, and instead of Bloom saving him, Diaspro does (and maybe earns her Enchantix from it). Then maybe Bloom could feel some type of way about it, or maybe Sky could question Bloom for not saving him, or maybe that could've been the start of everyone seeing Disapro differently, idk
To be honest I despise Diaspro because she was originally Prince Sky's fiance picked by his parents to marry someday as the next future Queen of Eraklyon👑 before the Winx Club series began and at the same Sky and Brandon switch their identities before starting at Red Foutain. However during Season 1 Sky was dating Bloom while pretending to be Brandon at the time he finally realise that he clearly is in loved💖with Bloom. But he could have told Bloom the truth about his identity and tell Diaspro the truth that he's in love with someone else before the misfortune event which force Bloom to leave Alfea and return home after she felt guilty for getting her friends into trouble as well as the Trix followed her and stole her Dragon flame. But to be fair Sky's parents are to blame too for this whole arrange married to Diaspro and have Sky and Brandon to switch their identities because of Yoshinoiya. After Sky broke up his arrange marriage to Diaspro she became bitter and jealous 💔that she won't accept that Sky has moved on and became obesses. In Season 2 Chatta told Diaspro that there are other Princes that she could fall in love someday, but unfortunely Diaspro isn't taking Chatta's advice. I think the only reason why Diaspro is so attach to Sky because she was raise to become Sky's future wife by her parents and want to become the next Queen of Erakylon. Despite that she's a fairy herself she still acted more of a villian which made me think she should have become a witch like the Trix instead as Diaspro is cunning and devious. As shown in In Season 3, Diaspro team up with Valtor to get Sky back from Bloom by putting Sky under a dark spell to make him love Diaspro. Although the Winx broke that powerful spell at the end of episode 9 but after that Diaspro was never been seen again in the entire season 3 except that in episode 14 Sky revealed that Diaspro was banished from Erakylon and reassure everyone that they won't be seeing her again. However in season 5, Diaspro did return and the weirest thing is that she was seen in Erakylon instead not punished for her crimes and the King and Queen should haven seen Diaspro for what she is after what has happen back in season 3. I can't believe Sky's parents turn deaf I mean did the King and Queen forgotten what Diaspro had done to their son Sky back in Season 3 or have they gone soft on her. Diaspro abuse the her postion as King's special liaison just to keep Sky from Bloom but failed after King Erendor rips the emblem off of her and announces that she is no longer needed. In season 6, Diaspro team up with the Trix after they conqued Eraklyon Institute, I thought of the time that we get to see more of Diaspro in the entire season 6 but unfortunely that never really happen. Because after episode 6 she suddenly disappeared after the confront wit Bloom's sister Daphne and never been seen after this which doesn't really make sense. If she was serious about becoming the Trix's allied then we would have seem more of Diaspro at Cloud Tower along with Lazuli,Jade and Rhody and the rest of the Cloud Tower Elite. But now Diaspro reappeared in season 8 at Eraklyon Palace instead of attending still at Eraklyon Institute. What I've notice that she wasn't punished for what she had done at Domino or her scheme from Season 3 like if these event never exist in the first place. What bothered me is that Diaspro is still after Prince Sky again and this she tricking him to go on her Eracklyon misson but failed and then left at the beginning of episode 19 while riding the Black winged Unicorn Disapro saying goodbye to Sky saying that she'll be looking on their next misson together purposefully making it worse for Sky and Bloom. It's clear that Diaspro will never give up or accept that Sky loved Bloom and no doubt she'll keep coming up with another cunning devious plan to break them apart . There is one fact why Diaspro relay on tricks instead of taking down Bloom herself because her fairy form is weak, while Bloom worked hard to earn more powerful fairy forms like Enchantix, Believix, Sirenix, Bloomix, Butterflix, Cosmix and Crystal Sirenix. Which is why Diaspro won't stand a chance against Bloom. If Diaspro really deserved be a better person with a better storylines then it's up to the writers of the Winx Club Series because they're the ones who made her the person she really is.
I find it funny how most of the winx fandom hate bloom for "stealing people's screentime" or for being a "mary sue" or for just being "annoying" but symphatize a gold digger who clearly proved time and again that she will never redeem herself and will priortize her own glamour over the fate of the universe 🤦🏻♂️ The fact diaspro is still desperate for sky even after finding out that he was willingly cheating on her behind her back with another woman (who never knew about diaspro x sky to begin with) under a different alias (which mind you is a bigger red flag than riven himself) shows that she never loved him and only wanted his wealth and status (like chimera). And also the fact that diaspro still never earned her charmix and enchantix already proves that she is rotten to the core despite being a fairy (at least bloom despite her flaws proved to be a much better and nicer person time and again to the point she got her cosmix)... People seethe on how bloom never got into trouble for "attacking" diaspro in s1 but go silent when diaspro in s6 not only tried to kill bloom but also openly allied with the trix (who were already infamous as terrorists across the dimensions) and never got into any trouble for that untill she tries to screw sky in the said season.... Overall im just suprised on how the fandom unjustly treats bloom while simping for an irredeemable incel like diaspro ,winx club fans are just getting dumber like dbz fans at this point now which is sad 🤣🤦🏻♂️
I feel like the real crime everyone thinks she committed, and the reason there are people content with her being a villain, is that she's a spoiled brat. And... I mean, it's not great, but there's a huge leap from "looking down on people because I think I'm better than them" to "multiple homicide attempts." Honestly, what Diaspro reminds me of is Draco Malfoy (if he wasn't raised by magical racists). They both are products of being told their whole lives that they're better than everyone else because of their wealth and blood. The difference is that in a rare moment of clarity for Rowling, Malloy was allowed to grow up and learn from his behavior and upbringing. To become a better person. Diaspro is never allowed that chance, so she's just stuck in a constant loop of self-absorbed narcissism. She's never allowed past season 2 to reflect on who she is *without* Sky. What she truly wants now that the expectation is gone. Instead they act like if a girl was cheated on by a man she thought loved her, she'd become an obsessed, murderous psycho.
Doesn’t Tides have two monarchies with Aisha’s family and the merfolk? Or is that a different system? I swear… They don’t explain the magical universe to us very well. Now do they?
I feel like they should have like a background story on her why she became like this because honestly I feel like all those studies that she was forced to be raised up like that kind of mentally messed her up in the head
That. And the pressure from her parents. In the comics her mother essentially said that Diaspro owes it to her parents to marry Sky after they had done many sacrifices for her.
After watching your video, as well as your rewrites involving Diaspro, I 100% agree with you with everything and I'll be honest I'm mad that she's still treated that way by the creators of the show, considering that my liking for Diaspro as a character has grown. When I see and think of Diaspro, she reminds me of every conventionally beautiful and feminine-presenting woman & girl, both in fiction and real life (think of celebrities like Marilyn Monroes, Megan Fox, hedy Lamar etc.), which misogynistic plus heteronormative society likes to treat nothing more than either like objects, "seductress/homewreckers" and "mean girls" even when they aren't of the two. Not only I'm sick and of the whole "pitting women against each other" but I'm also sick when the "other woman" is always blamed instead of the one who cheat ed simply just because she's "prettier", ignoring her side of the story what she is really as a person. Also, I expected better from the Winx club series, considering it is supposed to girl power show where hyper-femininity is not seen as weak, yet not only is Diaspro villainised for existing but have the world or magix being a universe where women, especially princesses, are treated as nothing more than property like in real life. I expected the world of magix to be more gender-egalitarian, and als lgbt-friendly, because what if Sky or Diaspro weren't straight in an alternate universe? Would their parents still plan their arranged marriage but still take consideration of gender preference to help them find a suitable partner and find other ways to have heirs/heiress or would they just be lgbt-phobic like regular humans?) I do think that Sky and Bloom should have to be accountable, especially Bloom since she assaulted Diaspro in season 1, but you know who else should take blame for it.... Diaspro's parents!!! because it is always the parents' fault. Also, the patriarachy is to blame too. Regardless, thank you @UnicornofWar for making the video I would love to see you rewriting Diaspro as a character more.
One thing I forgot mention, besides Diaspro deserving character development, I believe she deserves to also gained her other fairy abilities and forms instead of be stuck to magic winx, which could represent her character development.
The thing about Diaspro is that she has no more potential. The writers have used her for one thing and one thing only. After the two incidents in the first two seasons, it’s clear Bloom and Sky are (unfortunately) forever. When she showed up in season 5, I honestly rolled my eyes. I didn’t genuinely believe she could do anything, even with the amnesia.
Even though the Diaspro was a bit of a brat when we first meet her. In the four kids dub, she thinks that bloom is a stalker and isn’t exactly putting two and two together.
Nor diaspro deserved that apology given her attitude towards lower classes and that doesn't excuses the fact that she even allied with the trix (known terrorists) in s6 to ambush bloom and never really got punished for it directly for aiding some terriorists 🤦🏻♂️
wait wait wait! when they made fun of our girl dia...didn't they stop to think that maybe she was talking about herself so that his memories could return faster? i mean, if someone memories were lost and i was their childhood friend who could help, i'd talk about myself to help jog their memory...
9:06 I have always wondered why no one tried to stop the attack, like, Stella & Aisha/Layla are the princesses of rather prominent kingdoms. This could have been a MAJOR political mine field!
That's true... you know, I would love to see a scenario like this. Like Sky's parents are rightfully mad for their sons actions, and while Cassandra did have Radius enchanted with Valtor's mark, he would have still raised hell.
Eraklyon having two royal families could be really interesting. One thing I notice about a lot of fantasy/sci-if series with different entire planets is that they insist that all those planets are homogenous - one culture, one kingdom or government. Earth has so many different countries, cultures and histories and retains that in those types of series, existing alongside those planets with its diversity, either explored or like subtly implied that they’re still there but not shown. Diaspro being of a second royal family opens up a lot of opportunities for worldbuilding and character writing: what is her kingdom like? Are they at war with Sky’s family? By that note then, is her marriage to Sky politically important and shouldn’t be broken? Is Diaspro politically savvy and just that charismatic to get herself a position at royal court after being snubbed as Sky’s fiancé? Did she have ambitions to rule? Lol nope she’s just a bitchy mean girl whose existence is just to generate unnecessary romantic drama. RIP girl. You and your design is too good for this.
Like I’ve seen a lot of gorgeous fanart of Diaspro’s Enchantix too
Comic Diaspro was much better done and showed she genuinely wanted to be a good queen
@@ahstiasummers5583 The contrast between Bloom (a common girl from a not-so-well off family who can't afford to buy her a moped without saving first) and Diaspro (a literal princess) was perfectly sufficient to create friction.
What was the name of this comic? I'm curious.
yeah
The sad thing about Diaspro is that she's used as a plot device, nothing else. She's not a real character, she's not an actual human being, she's just some stereotypical dumb mean blonde whose sole purpose is to steal away the man of the main girl. The writers only bring her back when they're running out of plot ideas and don't know how to pad the season, instead of you know, actually bothering to develop her and show us more about her character OUTSIDE of all this Sky and Bloom love triangle drama??
So true
She was wrongfully antagonized because Sky cheated on her with no remorse and turned everyone against her with lies.
@@gothikaxenon If anything, Sky should be the ex-lover antagonist for the s*** he pulled off at Diaspro and Bloom.
Technically, Bloom stole Sky from her but, Sky didn’t really love her. He just wanted to make his father happy who was being a dbag.
I remember wanting her to transform more just because of her design.
the thing about her design that makes it so good is it's a bit more subtle that the VERY SPARKLY WITH VERY STRONG COLORS if the winx
Diaspro has some white and red, no sparkles
her wings are unique aswell
she was killing the style 😍😍
Don't forget the floating thingies, they were rather unique too
You were obssesed with her design? I'm more obsessed by the fact that Ariana Grande voiced her from season 3 to 5 lol
Fr
Icy Darcy and Stormy are way better than her, don't you think?
She’s not the only one who deserved better. Mirta needed more love as well.
Roy también
And Roxy.
Mirta deserves to be the 7th Winx more than Roxy.
Mirta should return as well.
Diaspro season 1 was done so dirty. From her perspective she was raised to marry him, engaged, cheated on and attacked publicly… then had to deal with everyone going: “UWU this girl is more special than Diaspro and she’s so cute with Sky”
And in later seasons she still got kidnapped due to association.
It would’ve been so good if she repented after potioning Sky and gave up half way kind of like Anastasia in Cinderella III.
She honestly reminds me of Audrey from the Descendants franchise.
In Blooms defense,Sky should have told her he was spoken for albeit arranged
@@lindalouw9046 yea but bloom kept ducking around with sky even after she found out and was confronted by the fiancée about it

Damn that is a really good idea!
I love this!!!
In a perfect world, Bloom and Diaspro ditched Sky and became chill with one another, with Diaspro and Stella becoming fashion besties.
I like the idea of Bloom and Diaspro being friends tbh. Much better than having Diaspro turn to homicide just so she can marry Sky.

@@emiliereal1520 I'd love to read it :D!
Not only is Diaspro's treatment unfair to Diaspro herself, it's also unfair to Bloom who never gets to gain enough confidence in Sky or herself to stand above high school jealousy drama.
To be fair, they keep retconning the Winx to stay as teens, so at least *that* checks out.
No she just continued to be selfish and ungrateful honestly, I'm in a love/hate relationship with both of them rn tbh I'm neutral with both characters
Some people also hate Sky for "cheating" in Diaspro in the first season but personally, I dont consider this cheating, he was not even in a relationship with bloom, and his arranged marriage was forced. He made it clear that he does not even love diaspro, he didn't even love her before he met bloom
Although there are people who say that developing feelings for someone else while being in a forced arranged marriage is cheating but idk and Disapro also literally called bloom a peasant when she bumped into her, I hate people who do that
@@AnimeBlaze-qi4jx fax ,and the funniest thing is diaspro was evil to begin with even before that drama ,woman called those bellow her peasents ,was madly obessed over a guy who not only never loved her truly but also was willingly cheating on her behind her back under a different name which she never called him out for because she only wanted his wealth and status like any gold digger would ,she was still insecure of bloom even when bloom saved her from pirates who kidnapped her in s2 ,tried to enthrall sky with valtor's which not only failed but also had sky hate and imprison her ,was still insecure and immature towards bloom in s5 to the point that she didn't let erakdylon ally with domino even though she willingly knew that tritannus would destroy the universe if the dimensions don't unite all just to spite bloom who was much of her superior in every way then in s6 she willingly allied with the trix to kill bloom out of jealously and even enthralled thoren (sky's cousin) to kill his soon to be sister in law bloom which got diaspro humiliated later on when she tried to get under his nerves ,then in s8 (the worst season) she got away at the end after all the bs she pulled and lets not forget even in s6-8 she was still stuck with magic winx while bloom and the others even earned their cosmix which only shows how selfish ,vain and pathetic diaspro is...
@@DrawciaGleam02 he carries ALL the guilt. if he was honest with them both,it wouldnt have gone down as it did

Also Diaspro is def the victim. Attacked by Bloom, kidnapped, constantly having to see the person she loved leave her behind and lost any friends she had probs.
I didn't like how the rivalry between diaspro and bloom started.Usually it would be the other character that starts the rivalry not the protagonist.
never understood why bloom never got punished for her antics at red fountain... unless the trix stealing her powers was supposed to be it?
i don't think bloom deserved that harsh a punishment considering what the trix had already put her through but still...
To be fair sky most likely asked for bloom not to be punished sense the fight was all a misunderstanding
the fact that bloom crashed a whole ass ceremony because of a guy she barely knew and back then, sky and bloom weren't even official, so bloom had no effing right to slap diaspro around just because she thought she was Icy in disguise (lol wth) and get super jealous because a girl happened to breathe around her crush lmao

@@richieswar3139 but you gotta understand is that she can't be jealous of bloom its not bloom fault that sky fell in love with her
The last scene with Diaspro in S6 feels so surreal.
This is such a great idea!
Diaspro truly deserves a better written plot
Diaspora was actually a princess from a kingdom on Eraklyon so it make sense. I wish they added it to make more sense. I wish they kept how Diaspro after she had that talk with Flora. She would finally break away from Sky, be her own fairy and then later on find someone better.
she really deserved better, i would love to see her overcome her selfishness and become an Enchantix fairy. It should've ended with Enchantix, really
It’d be a breif comedic moment where she also adds that while it still stung, she was slightly glad that bloom was a princess, and one of an allied planet, cause at least it was someone in her league.😂
(That’s partially why my sister and I made jokes about Bloom being a low key attention ho, many years ago when the series started😂
There’s also an abriged series of season 2 where bloom literally is one, and it makes WAY more sense than it should🤣.)
@@CrazyAlienLady051
I can’t really blame Sky’s dad for what he did.

@@mythicalmagix no, I didn’t. it would've been cool if they had given her a redemption arc and shown the effects of psychological abuse she's been though, like why she feels, thinks and behaves the way she does, it would've shown how dark this entire royalty and marriages thing is
she could've grown as a character so much, she could've apologized to bloom and sky for everything and she could find things to care about that are not sky, she could genuinely fall in love with somebody or earn her enchantix by sacrificing herself and protecting somebody from eraklyon (idk if it should be sky or not, she could earn it protecting sky and bloom because she feels guilty over what she's done and wants to redeem herself but she also could earn it protecting somebody completely different to show that she has life outside of sky, that she has moved on and grown as a character)
like she had so much potential but the writers decided nahhh she's gonna be a 1-dimensional hate sink with no redeeming qualities
Diaspo's an interesting character to me. She's haughty, vain, sophisticated, mysterious, and has cool gem powers. If Diaspro's character was handled better by the writers, she could have been one of the best characters in the entire series. She could have been similar to Asami Sato from The Legend of Korra.
You should read the early comics. She was handled a lot better.
I'm just imagining Diaspro and Bloom getting together behind Sky's back as revenge for when he two timed both of them. I love it.
At least Diaspro was treated a little bit better in the comics but I hate how she got reduced to some homewrecker in the later seasons.
At least My Little Pony Friendship is Magic did their characters better, like Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, and Diamond Tiara

I think it’d be cool if she just kept being the victim of worse and worse circumstances until she became an all out villain whose whole motivation just becomes revenge on bloom. I’m sure Bloom would have changed her mind if she discovered how Sky had been lying to everyone.
@@gothikaxenon Let's just remember that both were in an ARRANGED marriage and in that time he wasn't dating Bloom they were just friends and they even had a talk about were both apologized to each other (episode 21 or 22.) 🤨This is not Sky or Diaspro's fault, as every ARRANGED MARRIAGE they were just taking their role as prince-princess. But unfortunately she developed feelings while he doesn't.
A villain who deserved to have enchantix after saving someone out of greed
THANK YOU!!!! I have been saying this for years. All of the nuances you explored to her character (or the lack-there-of after S3) are so spot-on and exactly what I’ve been begging people to consider 😭😭😭 but what we can all agree on is that sky is the literal worst 😅😅😅
I also physically laughed out loud when you said your S6 rewrite will be available in 2052 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic content as always, friend!
You mean Chloe had the potential to be the best
If they wanted to keep Diaspro a villian- they could've used it as an opportunity to do- a dark fairy concept, like Bloom- but...like...in full control of herself(to an extent)
True words for Diaspro. #JusticeforDiaspro It was said in the comics that she also cared deeply for her people and wanted to do the very best for them.
Also Ariana Grande voicing Diaspro is a true gem! ❤️🔥💖❤️🔥
PS Her never ending drama with Sky, according to Rainbow, is already so obnoxious!
I'm just realizing how little I remember this character. Her design is so pretty you'd think I'd remember her more than I do
I agree 100% Diaspro deserved so much better.
[Tw: my english is bad af]
In issue 15, Diaspro's family visits Red Fontain for an IDK party, And it is revealed that she LOVES SKY but she seems more aware that her relationship to sky is a political tool that seeks to benefit both families. But then he doesn't give a shit and ditch diaspro for bloom (And later have a beef with him because he's only with her because now she's famous for defeating the trix DAMN IT SKY)
Later, a dragon kidnaps Diaspro by accident and Bloom follows her to rescue her. Sky runs to help them but HIM being a PUSSY :) can't even decide who to save first, that in the end the winxs and the rest of the specialists had to do it instead (common sky L)
They have other issues wich im too lazy to write but in resume the girls(diaspro and bloom) losing their dignities cuz they can't live without a f white boy like sky, whose personality is more bland than an unseasoned chicken with a side of burn potatoes, and is so pathetic in general.
If Bloom could just try to talk to her in the same way instead of being insecure the moment she sees her, maybe things would have been better.)
And yeah, Sky is just a dumb guy who cheated on her by not calling off the engagement before going after Bloom, even when he never had feelings for her from the start.
Honestly if you want stories that tackle Diaspro's type character POV, It's basically majority aristocratic villainess reincarnation isekai mangas out there
The stories always starts with the main characters host body being the girl who is dumped out of nowhere by her fiancé's with a random girl
I was waiting for someone to bring this up. She's basically a villainess from an otome game.
No
Sounds like someone's simping too hard for that incel 😂
Prince/Princess are not only reserved for the children of the King & Queen, it can also be an inherit title given to high standing members of the nobility/court - Diaspro wearing title of princess can either mean, she gained it from her family (without them being also King & Queen) or the title was given to her after the engagement was made official - because she was going to marry the crown prince
PS.: Bloom is a homewrecker and Sky is a cheater '#Diasprodeservedbetter
I feel its a similar situation to in 4Kids Musa originally was a princess, and they changed her homeworld to Harmonia when Princess Galatea was introduced in S3, showing they’re both princesses from the same area, just different planets
If anything I seriously hate how Diaspro is nothing more than an immature jealous ex who refuses to let go of Sky, and is treated as a constant problem in Sky and Bloom’s relationship.
Once that whole "ancient three witches" thing came out I assumed they were following "their destiny" and were eventually gonna go through some sort of "well we still hate the winx but we don't wanna relive the same crap over again" plot, but lol I was wrong.
oh my gosh yes, she deserved so much better!
I got the notification, read the title and IMMEDIATELY clicked. I thought I disliked this blonde head too. She was so much better in S1-3.
Diaspto should have been Sky sister, and have her be obsessed of taking the throne from him and not wanting bloom to be the next queen but her to be
It's so weird that they sat there and tried to make Diaspro into the bad guy when Sky was the one that lied. Diaspro literally was dragged into a fight because she got attacked by a girlfriend her fiancé wasn't even supposed to have. But she's the jealous ex? Like Sky didn't even do her the dignity of breaking off the engagement before DATING SOMEONE ELSE.
I love Diaspro's color scheme dark red and white plus the garnet stones that appears around her.
I am also tired of the same old Diaspro tropes, but please….
CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW FUCKING ANNOYING CRYSTAL WAS IN THAT SEASON???
I think Krystal is actually spelled with a K instead of a C. The character I mean.
Her design was so cute and her jewels were so unique. They should have made her much less attractive if they were gonna do her dirty
I would have loved if Diaspro not only got a redemption, but maybe have a romantic relationship with on of the winx (Maybe Bloom after both dump Sky)
I was hoping for a character/redemption arc for her.
Understandable form an inverse perspective but the fact that the writers made it like this is why everyone feels bad for her.
I find it funny how most of the winx fandom hate bloom for "stealing people's screentime" or for being a "mary sue" or for just being "annoying" but symphatize a gold digger who clearly proved time and again that she will never redeem herself and will priortize her own glamour over the fate of the universe 🤦🏻♂️
The fact diaspro is still desperate for sky even after finding out that he was willingly cheating on her behind her back with another woman (who never knew about diaspro x sky to begin with) under a different alias (which mind you is a bigger red flag than riven himself) shows that she never loved him and only wanted his wealth and status (like chimera).
Too bad we don’t see a lot of Diaspro’s supposed gemstone powers, cause they could’ve been really interesting.
i will say this tho, her outfits slay
I agree if ur not going redeem her u could at least give her another storyline
I feel like the real crime everyone thinks she committed, and the reason there are people content with her being a villain, is that she's a spoiled brat. And... I mean, it's not great, but there's a huge leap from "looking down on people because I think I'm better than them" to "multiple homicide attempts."
Honestly, what Diaspro reminds me of is Draco Malfoy (if he wasn't raised by magical racists).
KInda wish you covered comic diaspro too cuz i feel like comic diaspro is way better than cartoon diaspro
@@galacticnightsky I literally agree witch everything you said
@@nicolas._.2294 Thank you
The thing about Diaspro is that she has no more potential.
16:27 ayo why does she kinda look good tho in the s8 art style
The worst of all this Bloom never even consider to apologize for what SHE did to Diaspro.
I'm surprised they never had Diaspro become a witch
To be honest I think they used Diaspro a way to show that even fairies can be bad
@@ceeford9919 and yet we couldn't have Mirta stay as a good witch.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 that's true. But to be honest I wished that Mirta was a fairy that used both dark and Light magic.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 i mean ,at least griffin ,selina ,lucy and pretty much the entire cloud tower did turned good at the end though....
