Gaddafi was so stylish. He is an alpha male. He was killed because he wanted to introduce a new currency backed by gold and start trading oil in that currency. He also wanted to introduce a gold standard where a country's wealth would be determined by the amount of gold they have instead of the amount of US dollar reserves they have. Saddam Hussein wanted to start trading oil in Euro instead of the US dollar, so USA lied he had weapons of mass destruction and destroyed Iraq.

Any leftover material from his concrete mixer truck (he was driver/mechanic on construction machinery) he would be ordered to pour at Gadaffi's palace that was being built or for some of his secret police chiefs house. After his working contract ended the man himself wanted to meet my gramps and he told him that for his service to Libia he can get his family out of communist Romania and put them all on a plane to wherever he pointed on the map. He respectfully refused since he was a patriot (not a commie, he loved his country not regime). Gadaffi was impressed and told him that his country needs more men like him and then they parted ways. I didn't meet my grandpa since he died 6 years before is was born but pops says he always spoke highly of Gadaffi and respected him.

I've known a few Libyan's that loved this dude. Supposedly recently married couples got a free house over there. Not to mention free education, healthcare, and all sorts of other social programs. After 911, Gaddafi was one of the first Arabic leaders to condemn the attacks, and offer aid to the United States. He was also one of our staunches Middle Eastern allies in the war on terror. We turned our backs on him and armed ISIS fighters, so they could topple him, and for what? Today, Libya is a failed state ran by war lords and pirates, and it'a breeding ground for terrorists. Libya, was unequivocally better off when he was in power than it is today. Yes, he was a dictator, and that's never a good thing. But as far as dictators go, you can do a lot worse than Muammar Gaddafi.
