Agust D is literally talking about everything that is wrong in the world right now. Since haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means liberation of prohibition. He is really asking who's on board for the revolution, for the new world, for the new kingdom and to get on board now. So we can fix everything that is broken. This is a masterpiece. The lyrics and wordplay are incredible. This is what rap in my humble opinion should be. A way of making people aware of all the social, economical issues and more. And Suga just did that. To add further layers to this, it’s really pointed commentary on capitalism or essentially: feudalism. What became his weapon in the beginning (his tool to criticise & stand up) became a utensil. In the end he has to partake in this because of obligation. literally; to feed himself. A Thailand ARMY (shout out to Sky_hxneul) was kind enough to educate us and explain that this was filmed in Thailand and that place is called the "Thief Market" Rattanakosin Island's (Old name of Thailand from 1782-1892) and it was the first international shoping center in the period after the abolition of slavery.. This is how he explained it : so this market came to exist because the people in the palace freed from slavery when they moved out of the palace, they received some goods from the master and also stole some They then brought those goods to sell them in this area. Now we know that Haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means the liberation of the prohibition. SUGA: "Haegeum can refer to the traditional instrument but Haegeum as a lift on a ban. With advanced technology, we're able to get all kinds of information and see the situations happening on the other side of the planet while sitting. But I strongly felt those things kind of prohibiting my life actually. I can live without walking on eggshells as much. You have to live doing the things you want." "Scar dude”, is Agust D. He only went as hard as he did because the world was against him and BTS. 2. He’s wrapped up his AgustD persona trilogy and now wants to simply be Yoongi. Someone who can have a meal in peace, someone who can partake in the music industry (the restaurant) just like anyone else. This was so interesting. I’ve read other theories saying the chopsticks have to do with the capitalist society and the theme of you have to kill to eat or survive. I enjoyed reading your point of view.
this is a really interesting take on the story! Аnd it is also his gang was of 6 people=6 members. He seems to be alone but they are always there to help and support.
BTS suga's show in The Disney plus channel he said he always included his team members in his music he doesnt want to promote himself alone, because he's a BTS member, a family.
this was a really good theory!! Especially the fish bowl theory is genius.. I don't understand how your brain works so well, I've played the MV many times, but I wouldn't have been able to put it together that well myself. I'm looking forward to that last MV so I can watch all three at once. and as yoongi said "understand" what he means (although I doubt if my English is enough to understand everything😂)
This song and the whole album is a masterpiece. Yoongi's production, flow, cadence and lyricism always amaze me. Can't wait for the reaction. And I wish I could watch you reaction to D2. That's still gonna be my favourite one out of the three.
There will be another MV coming out in some days.. SUGA said to watch the MV in order from Daechwita, Haegeum and the next MV, i guess will be AMYGDALA. The story is all connected
saw one tweet said he used that chopsticks both to eat and kill, you kill to eat and you eat to live. our existence and survival is based on this never ending cycle. (the m/v started and ended at the same spot)
70 year old Army here. "Haegeum" has a double meaning in this song. It is a traditional Korean instrument held on the knee and played like a stand up bass with a bow and two silk strings. It is an instrument used in this song. It also means liberation or freeing what's forbidden and is very relevant to this song. Actually, it should remind you of Daechwita! 💜
Im 100000X times more jealous of people who are going to agustd concert after listening to D-Day coz the songs gonna go real hard in live😭😭 enjoy from our side guys!!😭 btw whats your fav track?? I still can't decide just one.
Suga hanging out of the cop car window is also a callback to when peasant AgustD did that in the black and gold car that did doughnuts in King AgustD's courtyard in the 'Daechwita' MV....Haegeum MV is full of echoes of Daechwita MV - his 6-man posse, fighting a corrupt figure of authority, the chicken, the unexpected double-cross, the fire-lit scene, the opening walking-thru-a-village scene, etc
Bathtub scene with Suga, I mean Agust D is from Scarface movie where "Tony Montana" is in the bathtub shortly before he dies. The five fingered dragon( worn by the king only in Korean history) is on Agust D's jacket and is the same as Agust D wore in Daechwita. 🤔
The live version is up too and it's amazing with the Korean musicians w/ the band Suga is that guy and true MUSCIAN my God I hope you'll guys react to the live version 💜 🎉
Daechwita and Haegeum feels like lost twins because this feels like a pattern. Yoongi keeps killing off his old self (the king with a scar) when his self reaches the point of greed and corruption once again. He keeps doing it to bring himself back down to the ground so that the humble version of himself lives on instead of the one tainted with greed. He shot the king on Daechwita and shot him once again in Haegeum. That's why he mentioned that he forgave those people who hated them and want only to stay humble. BTS/YOONGI ARE THE MOST SELF-AWARE ARTISTS I'VE EVER KNOWN... like they knew something we don't, they know how dirty the industry works and that's why they don't get swayed so easily. They are not afraid to call out names and the industry. Slamming them for corruption and all. Taking all the risks of backlash they will get that may affect their career.
you two are good with analyzing stuff lol....where were you guys during i need you era lmao, i really hope il see the day when you two would watch the high light reels and short films of bangtan and dig deep into the BU..
Given the scar on the mafia Suga which poor Suga doesn't seem to have, my theory is that the mafia Suga is the underground Suga from Daechwita, the one that fooled the King Suga then became him (the power corrupted him which led to him leading the mafia the way king ruled his kingdom, on the expense of others), now *he* got fooled by someone who has the same mentality as he once had in Daechwita. And this is similar type of message but in modern society instead of a village, which is why Yt was mentioned, it didn't exist back then. In conclusion, capitalism has existed for centuries, and still does, and it's just a deadly, never ending cycle. It makes me think of how many kids wanted to be cops for example to protect people, but once they tasted the power they got addicted and never looked back, continuing to abuse it and hold it over poor people' heads. Same with politicians and "leaders" (King Suga and Mafia boss Suga). That's why we love Bts so much, they wanted money, cars, houses, fame, fans (especially Suga as he often mentions it in his lyrics) but they never got corrupted. It's inspiring and heartwarming. Also makes me so proud to be their fan, their Army💜 Also the 6 dudes behind him possibly represent Bts members (it's 7 of them along w Suga), just like in Daechwita the 6 guys represented Bts and that one girl represented Army.
The line where he says "interpretation is free for all. Freedom of expression could be reason for somebody's death. Could you still consider that freedom?" will hit you hard if i tell you that many of kpop idols did su1c1de because of the hate comments that the haters throws at them and haters still think that its just a "freedom of expression". Jeonghyun from the kpop group shinee (he is one of bts' close friend and they even went to his burial), and then sulli, and then go hara, and then 4 days ago moonbin from kpop group astro d1ed from su1c1de too and couple of more. I am really glad that suga pointed this topic out.
The album is a work of art from beginning to end. He has matured and grown. Totally addicted to “Snooze”, the haunting ache and feel of a long drive, alone on moonlit night. 🫶🏻💜💜🇨🇦
Suga said in an interview that HAEGEUM has a second meaning. Haegeum is a song about unlocking our new potentialities feeling something previously forbidden.
well i will just talk about chopsticks, he used it kill someone and then use it to feed himself. he talks about capitalist society and living in it, the same thing that is killing and ruining people but he is also criticising himself because he is also part of that capitalism that he cannot escape because it is what feeds him.
I’ve just found your channel and saw your Daechwita review. Amazing content. Legit! Intellectual! Just really great! New subscriber waiting for your newest vid to drop. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in a very informative and explanatory way. It’s very genuine. ❤
@@JaredandJordanRespond, Cupid. This is a song sung by Korean girl group Fifty Fifty. The song is currently at number 60 on the Billboard Hot 100. Among K-pop groups, they entered the Billboard charts faster than New Jeans and are becoming a hot topic every day. (It became famous through TikTok, and despite being a rookie group, it is extremely popular all over the world.) It represents the 4th generation and is the group with the highest possibility of becoming a group that connects Blackpink and BTS, so please give us a lot of interest.
In the MV I think he is fighting himself because even though he hates capitalism he also loves indulging in it. Because even though everyone in some way or another takes part in capitalism, Yoongi has just been the one to accept he is a bi-product of a money making machine. As HYBE is a big capitalistic corporation but he is also a victim of it as well because he is still an idol who works for a higher power [slave]. But maybe my interpretation is wrong. Edit: Also, if you want a good bass song from his album you gotta check out Agust D & J-hopes song "Huh" which has a drill beat.
Hi guys just discovered your Chanel because I saw your live on sugas concert, and now I’m watching this reaction and review you have on haegeum. I think u guys are great in doing this review.
I'd like to take a closer look at the back of his cyan jersey jacket to see if it bears the image of a 5-toed dragon. In "Daechwita", the king wore royal robes but the embroidered dragons have only 4 toes on each foot signifying that he is not a true king. The king's royal robes should have embroidered dragons with 5 toes on each foot. The color cyan is quite symbolic in ancient Eastern Asian traditions. I also see so many visual parallels between Daechwita and Haegeum here.
I really like your analysis. I also like the parallel with the music of the other members. Their styles are different and singular but they share this passion for art and their thirst for freedom. For artists it is essential. I love BTS, I admire them. All my respect to august d, the genius.
I would like to add a little of my theory too... Detective Yoongi represents Yoongi's angry persona. He was the rebel in Daechwita who killed the King who is representing power. Detective Yoongi wanted his money. The criminal Yoongi stole the money of the detective not for the money but for the detective himself... Reference: 1)he nods at the informer who called the detective. 2) He smiles knowing that the police are after him. 3) He doesn't run away to save him nor scared of the detective. 4) He burns the money that he had stolen. In the end, the detective smiles before being shot. He could mean that even if he ( anger ) is dead someone like him (negative emotion) would / might come after the other Yoongi, therefore, therefore killing him will be useless Or he could mean that the new Yoongi would also become just another one like the king and detective Yoongi. Because that was what happened to the detective. But that didn't happen. Criminal Yoongi starts and ends at the same place... He started at the restaurant with his members (bts), killed people (destroying the music industry), stole money (became wealthy), trapped and killed the detective yoongi (freed from his anger), and returned to the same restaurant just like another ordinary man or as the same Yoongi seen in the beginning but alone this time ( or independent ). He has no greed for money and power. Meaning that this Yoongi doesn't change into the corrupt and greedy one like the detective and King Yoongi. In Daechwita, we don't know what happened to the king or the rebel (now detective) Yoongi. But about criminal yoongi, it's shown here. This is the final Agustd who is freed from society's expectations and obligations (king) as well as his own negative emotions (detective). He is calm, down-to-earth, non-greedy, and emotionally strong with a completely healed scar ( representing he is completely fine now ).
It's like Suga v Agust D, he set him free from himself, the self that gives him his anxieties and his fears and everything in himself them holds him back. He's set himself free from his insecurities is what I get from it. He shot his setsacks in the head.
Great reaction 👏🔥 I saw that no one pointed it out but if you notice the guy calling at the beginning, he made a call to the police Agust D reporting the social misfit Agust D, he's also the one who pulled social misfit Agust D out of the drum of water and safe to say, provided him with the gun to kill his other self, eventually betraying the other Agust D
This is his trilogy albums the six guys are believed to be the six members having his back in all videos. In Daechwita the girl was an extra that represented the presence of Army. If you noticed the mob boss Agust D had the scar referencing Daechwita and the carefree Suga has no scar. Free from the inhibitions of his past as Agust D. which leads to the question will we see Agust D again since he was killed off by Suga ???
Interpretation , that whole line goes back to how in Korea especially North Korea you don't have the freedom to do a lot. That's why the South is so different and a bit more Liberal, but he's also talking about being an artist, and as a culture. It's looked down on in society if you have tattoos and smoke in Korea, so he's showing that he doesn't care, plus in the music industry artists don't have the freedom to do what they want with the direction, styling, lyrics they want to express. It's all about the numbers and money, rather than how an arist will bring something new to the market. The're manager was the first to let them have free reign on how they want to express themself and direction of how they want their messages and truths to be told. He's saying join the revolution of freedom to be yourself, express how you want to express, point the light on what's real and the real identity of the music industry as it stands
Suga and the boys have the ability to universalize their experiences. And they literally apply on multiple levels. Freedom of expression does not exist, it depends on the interests at stake and it can cost you your life or the quality of it. We are slaves in many ways, it depends on your economy to do everything you want, we are all slaves to something or someone. RUclips example: artists:number of streaming and position you get; content creators: timeline, number of videos you upload, content that continues to grab attention, number of followers and users: who stop living their own life and live in a world behind the screen. Now if you're a public figure, people feel they have the right to say what you should or shouldn't do, criticize you, and hate you for something you said and they don't agree. They want them to live like monks without questioning their own double standards. And if we analyze it further, you will realize that there is a lot of his personal history in this letter, but it also applies to BTS as a group, to us as a society and to this fast-paced world in which we now live.
Heya! Love your reactions! Always so thoughtful amd considered. As Interpretation is free for all..some thoughts: Agust D as a cop..a corrupt cop. Look at those fancy threads 😅 Because he has control and money, he would be seen as a King in society. I think the guy hiding upstairs in restaurant calls him. Who is cop on the phone to? It's corrupt money. So he just burns it. Suga starts to take down the corruption.. the capitalism etc with a pair of chopsticks. In the end, he has his freedom and comes full circle with the chopsticks that got him there. I think the police are free too and support him, taking him back to the King's restaurant. Suga walks in with a black suit jacket. The old King's jacket. Suga is now the King..the King of himself. As we all should be. Get on board now. Having 6 thugs with him..represents BTS 7? Hanging out of the car, like Daechwita! Where he also had 6 thugs with him. Please react to the concert too! Dying to know set list!!! I'm still hoping for tickets in Asia..ANYWHERE!! 💜💜💜💜
The first time I watched this I was breathless the whole time! My adrenaline was through the roof with that beat 🔥 I Interpreted it as the police persona being the version that killed the blonde king in Daechwita but he’s become corrupted (I think the hideout the new Agust d went to was the cops stash of money) and the new Agust d burns the money joker style (going along with the capitalism line) bringing everything to a confrontation. The killing of the scarred Agust d is him killing this last version of himself and freeing his mind. He’s a genius with the lyrics as always.. I feel like he’s talking about the disillusionment of this era and the chasing of power and money and essentially calling for a sort of revolution for the world. I can’t really articulate it well, but his music always makes people think and reflect, like he’s holding a mirror up to society and showing the absurdity of it. Just my rambling thoughts on it 😅
Agust D is literally talking about everything that is wrong in the world right now.
So, in order:
First Agust D, blonde and scarred, killed by
Second Agust D, black hair scarred: killed by
Final Agust D is actually Suga, to be continued in Amygdala
I think that is interesting that the original Agust D became the Mad King and the D-2 Agust D became a rich looking cop idk if that's his intention but it very much reads as a critique on corruption by money and power. Especially as he kills them both at the end.
woah thanks for explaining it so well 💜

Oh that’s an interesting take! I hadn’t heard that one but yeah that fits with the lyrics. 😄
this is a really interesting take on the story!
AgustD becomes the first rapper in history to sell a million copies of an album in its first day of release.
This guy is a lyrical genius!! Stunning visuals and a deep meaning of life that only Agust D can deliver 😎💜
I’m gonna see Suga in concert
Haegeum is a traditional instrument, but it also means release from prohibition. The mv is so fascinating
The true crime in all this is how good Yoongi looks.
Suga flow is sick 🤯 & I know u guys are excited to see him in concert can’t wait to hear y’all experience about it
Haegeum has two meanings - the musical instrument and also allowing/freeing up something that is forbidden.
The live version is up too and it's amazing with the Korean musicians w/ the band Suga is that guy and true MUSCIAN my God I hope you'll guys react to the live version 💜 🎉
the entire album is so good
THE BEAT💯💯💯‼️🔥🔥🔥
THE FLOW💯💯💯‼️🔥🔥🔥
THE LYRICS💯💯💯‼️🔥🔥🔥
I am soooooooo pumped for the concert 🤯💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 💜💜
My favorite his song is Snooze from his new album.
Also makes me so proud to be their fan, their Army💜
Also the 6 dudes behind him possibly represent Bts members (it's 7 of them along w Suga), just like in Daechwita the 6 guys represented Bts and that one girl represented Army.
The album is a masterpiece and this is not an mv ITS A MOVIE
The fish In the water bottle also describes to the meaning of freedom
Yeah i think about it too and it's in right time i think. Always be kind not all have good heart as yours.
The album is a work of art from beginning to end. He has matured and grown. Totally addicted to “Snooze”, the haunting ache and feel of a long drive, alone on moonlit night. 🫶🏻💜💜🇨🇦
Y'all are the best and so is Yoongi. Dang genius for real 🔥
You are watching the best mf MV of the industry men! D-DAY IS A MASTERPIECE!
Not just this song. Check out the entire album you will be blown awayyyyyy. Every song is a title song in this
It's a whole movie!!!!it's a Masterpiece!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥Btw Eid Mubarak 🌙💜😄 thank you for making my Eid special with your video..... thx....
Can’t wait!! Might have to wait until tomorrow tho ):
I’ve just found your channel and saw your Daechwita review. Amazing content. Legit! Intellectual! Just really great! New subscriber waiting for your newest vid to drop. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in a very informative and explanatory way. It’s very genuine. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re elated to have you join our fam 😊💜 hope you enjoy the reaction!!
(It became famous through TikTok, and despite being a rookie group, it is extremely popular all over the world.)
It represents the 4th generation and is
the group with the highest possibility of becoming a group that connects Blackpink and BTS, so please give us a
lot of interest.
Can't WAIIT🫶💜💜
So very talented! Congratulations Suga... I love you. 🥰🇺🇲
노래가 담고있는 메세지를 하나하나 파악해가는
리뷰영상 정말 최고입니다👍
I like that when he says interpretation is free for all cause u can think of whatever about the video
SUGA , a masterpiece. Truly a deep thinker . Thank you foe going through the lines with us.❤
I wish to see your reactions to the rest of the album, it's a masterpiece 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Was waiting for you guys 🤗🤩🥰💜
Hi guys just discovered your Chanel because I saw your live on sugas concert, and now I’m watching this reaction and review you have on haegeum. I think u guys are great in doing this review.
This song is a Haegum 🔥🔥🔥
Doper than dope, what a ride, that was fantastic, got no words to express how I feel right now. And I've heard and watched this so many times.
Suga is really a Savage King!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 He is really cool in this MV!! 💜💜💜
This album is an absolute masterpiece.
Love your reaction guys 💜
THIS IS PHENOMENAL I TOLD YALL
8:00 - you guys mouth breathing, wide open at the end had me dying 🤣
Yessss it's so goood
Suga 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I LOVE the song & mv. You can tell he put a lot of effort into it 💜.
So much talent!
the fact that this was produced and composed by yoongi ONLY is so sexy of him
even the storyline for this mv and daechwita's mv was done by him too
Agust D has not ever disappointed me! 🔥🔥
I also see so many visual parallels between Daechwita and Haegeum here.
i went insane when my man agust d pulled a cigar and a joker reference.
I really like your analysis. I also like the parallel with the music of the other members. Their styles are different and singular but they share this passion for art and their thirst for freedom. For artists it is essential. I love BTS, I admire them. All my respect to august d, the genius.
Loving that you try to breakdown his lyrics.
suga always doing masterpiece this song is fire he as always a genius 🔥💜💜
Wow you're reaction is upto date. Each and every thing you both noticed. I really impressed. Iam waiting to your reaction of all track's of dday 😇
You should check out the live performances of both Haegeum and Daechwita, live rock band and live traditional instrument band. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
💙💜💜💜💜💜💜🐳♾
i just watch your d day vlog, you guys so lucky 🥲 i hope i can go to bts member concert one day
Go read the lyrics from The Who's song, We Won't Get Fooled Again. The last line is, "meet the new boss, same as the old boss."
Can't wait for the concert!!!!
Isso está incrível 🔥💜👑
I love u guys!!!! Best reaction yet on Haegeum💜
Thanks for the Breakdown💜🦋💜
I love this song
The video was so epic
The chicken, the sword, the tangerines 😂💜
😂😂😂 the silence, the dropped jaws, awesome 😂😂😂
He’s freeing himself from August D saying goodbye suga was always the king and saying what’s wrong with the world Haegrum is the new sound
I love their reaction sm
Wow😮Agust is here!!!❤❤ 🔥 🔥 🔥
I would like to add a little of my theory too...
He could mean that even if he ( anger ) is dead someone like him (negative emotion) would / might come after the other Yoongi, therefore, therefore killing him will be useless
Or he could mean that the new Yoongi would also become just another one like the king and detective Yoongi.
I just agree with him, think both song and video are great and he is simply the GOAT!
I like the you go one by one on the lyrics 👍👍
He is carrying the same black blazer the other one wore! hahahahahahaha! I love this MV!
AMYGDALA lagu yang sedih tapi suga membuatnya menjadi banger😍😍
Great reaction 👏🔥
I saw that no one pointed it out but if you notice the guy calling at the beginning, he made a call to the police Agust D reporting the social misfit Agust D, he's also the one who pulled social misfit Agust D out of the drum of water and safe to say, provided him with the gun to kill his other self, eventually betraying the other Agust D
King 👑💜
Bathtub scene is a reference to Scarface and Tony Montana!
There is a live performance video
Awesome reaction! Thank you guys! I really want you to react to the whole album D2. It'll be perfect
He is so cool 😭😭😭😭😭
I always look forward to ur interpretation of any BTS songs especially suga , love how far u have come on this BTS journey 👏👏💜💜💜
Thank you.
"A lot going on to say the least"... yep. BTS members are geniuses...
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Haegeum is liberation
Yoongi recommended we listen to Daechwita, Haegeum and AMYGDALA one after the other to understand his message.

Heya! Love your reactions! Always so thoughtful amd considered.
As Interpretation is free for all..some thoughts:
Agust D as a cop..a corrupt cop.
My adrenaline was through the roof with that beat 🔥
I Interpreted it as the police persona being the version that killed the blonde king in Daechwita but he’s become corrupted (I think the hideout the new Agust d went to was the cops stash of money) and the new Agust d burns the money joker style (going along with the capitalism line) bringing everything to a confrontation.
Just my rambling thoughts on it 😅
There's no precautions - just strap urselves in, soak it all in.. goodluck! hahahaha 😂
