Poor her she gets dragged into ducts in comerical new construction all the time and dosent have to take it off even. Fishing vest sounds like a cheap good alternative. I’ve been using a Filson 100% cotton tan canvas Timber Cruiser vest for several decades as a work vest. Doesn’t have mesh but is tough as nails. I don’t find it too hot in summer. It has bleached out almost light tan / cream color from being worn in the sun so reflects heat. Has two snap flap lower pockets, two chest pockets. The upper right is large enough to take a hard bound surveyors level book, the upper left has pen / tool slots. There are two hand warmer style pockets behind the lower flap pockets and there are two long pockets on the inside. Finally, there is a back rear pocket that is accessible from either side. I wear it doing outside building projects and for electrical work. I’m not sure Filson still makes this particular unit treated canvas model now, but they still offer a waxed Tin Cloth model that will last a lifetime. They are an old time American company dating back to the 1898 Alaskan gold rich. They aren’t cheap, but worth every penny. I have their 100% wool version Timber Cruiser vest for winter and their wool winter weight Timber Cruiser jacket. One of my warmest coats and is a once in a lifetime purchase. They’re that good.

It's a nifty looking vest. Does it come I'm black? 😆 I've long been on the vest hunt myself alot of them. (Snickers occidental leathers knockoffs diamondback baklader ect.) The fishing vest is a decent idea from our lady tradeswomen in one of the comments. I feel it's how hot do you want to be and how flimsy do you want the material to be? To be fair the current diamondback is way stiffer than the one in the video. From what I see it's between snickers(flimsy) and diamondback or occidental leathers/knockoffs. That is a personal preference as well but stiff ussaly means hot unless it's all mesh. Vest really do help a ton on hip weight even with suspenders once you get use to a vest it's the lightest your tools will feel. Another option for you trades folk is thr occidental leather beltless system (specifically the retro kit that let's you use your own bags and suspenders for 60 dollars) and that is my outdoor framing rig on badger framing bags. It literally does the same thing weight wise no belt just free hanging on your shoulders so you can crouch down and actually move. I'm glad people are getting into some of these alternatives it makes wearing a tool rig not as damaging to the body. And as they say the only effective ppe/gear us one you actually use.

They run deals from time to time and you can get under $175… they had about 4 sales while I was waiting for this one 😂
I get it though. It is pricey, I just couldn’t find another one with this length and that double zipper

I’m not sure what the other versions have… I wanted the most mesh. I was surprised with the pockets behind the cargo pockets. I think they will be more useful because they are more like tool slot deep.
I went into it planning to throw my Veto MP Pouches on the side when I need more tools.

You do have a few options for "cheaper" snickers though flimsy and a little warmer to wear hits under 100 most of the time. Blaklader isnt as well constructed but slightly cheaper than snickers (90 dollars). Welkinland a occidental leather clone is decent quality and can be made usable and comes in at 80ish. Not much cheaper than that rest are 200+ so hope that gives you some options

      @@unwired1281 I’m sure I do. I’m a contractor not a professional speaker/video maker.
Half the time I forget what I’ve already said/haven’t said while I’m filming. It’s hard for me, especially in videos like this where I’m looking at the camera. It’s like having a conversation with no one talking back to you… two seconds in feels like an eternity so you start filling with words.
I notice Ive done it sometimes while I’m editing, but whatever Im repeating is usually tied in with something else I haven’t said that needs to stay in the video… I’m not good enough at editing to get rid of it and it not look like total garbage.
There is a skill in editing, and probably filming so it’s more easily editable that I haven’t learned yet 😂
I appreciate the feedback. No offense taken 👍
