Even though what he did to her in Season 1 was so, so bad, I feel like they ended up together because they're best friends in real life and they tried to make the storyline without Finn less hurtful for Lea. If you consider the story, it was not the best option out there, but thinking like this makes me think that if this was their reasoning in real life, then it was really sweet.
That is ridiculous. By the time this story-line came around Lea had already been in another long tern relationship. They wanted Rachel to get love and career and Jesse made sense because he always got Rachel. It really was their best option if they wanted to end her series long arc of balancing love and ambition.
She said very recently that she is still sensitive about Cory. I bet she did internal work or something, thats why she got a boyfriend, but like she said, its still dificult to her

Finn/Cory is her soul mate, in Glee and real life. But he's no longer with us, in both ways.
