your video is timeless I haved learned since your video, about creating an embroidery file from using an svg file to further embellish your iron on.. This and cutting of fabric makes it the best machine ever,
So I have to thank you i have had my maker for 2 yrs and I'm scared to use it...AT ALL...ye i said it....AT ALL! I think now i will try this fro sure! Thanks for giving me a reason to do it!! I LOVE your rainbow!
Thank you. The first quilt I’m going to make, will be for my niece (4 months away) out of elephants. I couldn’t find the fabric print I wanted. Problem solved, use the cricut and make my own! Now I need to learn how to machine appliqué!
You can (kind of!)! The Cricut software will read SVG, PNG, JPG, DXF, GIF, and BMP files, so if you can scan in your pattern to one of these formats, it will read it.

How did your elephant quilt turn out? :)
Very cool tool. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Is the "rotary blade" the blade that comes with the Cricut Explorer Air 2? Will this same Cricut model also cut through fabric? Thank you!
I’m confused. How do u put it on the mat? Paper side down?
great video can you link you blog for the svg ? thank you again
Do you need to sew around the appliqué after ironing it onto fabrics? Does it fray?
Yes, you should sew around it! Some use a zig zag stitch, but I like a blanket stitch, which is a decorative stitch on most modern sewing machines.
I am new to Cricut and just got the Maker 3. Do I have to use a rotary blade to cut fabric, or will the blade that came with the machine work?
You would need to use the fabric blade.
Thank you! Can you stitch over the bonded fabric, or does it gum up the needle/machine.
I have done applique' quilting and have not had a problem. I use heat n bond lite.
Can I do this with the Cricut explore air 2?
Can you use a pattern you already have and scan it to the software to have the maker cut it out?
You can (kind of!)! The Cricut software will read SVG, PNG, JPG, DXF, GIF, and BMP files, so if you can scan in your pattern to one of these formats, it will read it.
