Thanks so much, you finally solved my problem... I've been looking for solution for my Neweer strobes for months right now.. and finally you offered the solution... Funny most of the sellers on Amazon or ebay do not know what is the type of mount used by neweer, and they do not offer any universal solution. What bother me more that neweer do not have any support website to inform its customers about this technical details.
Hello sir thanks for the video. I have Speedotron 202VF studio strobes, and would like to attach some bowens mount softboxes to the strobes. Do you think this adapter will work? Also, what is the name of the adapter in the video?
Hi very useful video, thanks for posting. My strobe is exactly 9.5cm diameter (this is what you had right?) so is the 9.5cm adapter not too tight for that? It seems like there must be some 1mm difference for them to fit. I am about to order the adapter so just wanted to make sure I need the 9.5cm or 9.8cm type. Don't want to wait for shipment for 2-3weeks just to realize the 9.8cm had to be ordered. Thanks
Should the mount not rotate to lock and THEN be screwed down? It looks like the teeth on the bowens mount go in and should rotate so as to lock them from coming out. The screw is not meant to hold the entire weight of the mount, but simply to stop it from rotating on the adapter so that the teeth cannot go into the holes (allowing the mount to come off)
Thanks for this. What is the diameter of the hole that the strobe goes into? I have some Julius Studio F300's. The hole for the softbox adapter that came with the F300's is 4-inches diameter (10 cm). The universal adapters I see on eBay say they fit 9.5 cm.
this one is 9.5cm and you always want to get something a bit bigger so you can just make it tight with the screws on the sides. I would suggest asking the seller if the adapter is compatible and also asking the seller of the F300 which adapter you should get or sending a link to the adapter you think might work
Kenny Bellew I have seen adapters on eBay that fits to a strobe with diameter of 9,5 Cm and 9,8 Cm. The problem is the strobe seller on eBay. They don't know the measurement on the strobe. But at least this video did show how to do things when we know the correct dimensions. :-)
This is pretty cool and I'm sure a lot of profoto heads would LOVE to get something like this but I'd be terrified to trust those three screws to keep the adapt mounted with a heavier softbox or parabolic. Have you tested something like this? If so, could you show some videos of this staying in place while holding a heavier softbox from above?
Thanks for this video! I am on my way of buying a strobe like this or an GODOX 300ws 300w Pro Photography Studio Strobe Photo Flash Light Lamp Head and an adapter to fit a softbox with bowens mount. The one you have and the one I want looks like they have similar diameter in the front. But I am not sure if it is 9,8 Cm or 9,5 Cm like your strobe/adaptor. I have seen adapters for Godox to Bowens mount with both dimensions. So I am a little bit confused. Anyone that know?
acguevara I have done that, but they are soooo slow to answer. And I do not want to buy from a seller that do not know or answer at all. But anyway, I do really appreciate your informative video. It will be really helpful when the sellers respond. :-)
Svein Arne Grønnevik I agree. Its hard to find good sellers. But since I got this long time ago, I dont have the sellers under my purcahse history anymore
Those 300ws lights are SO bright, even on the lowest level, that you shouldn't worry about an inch or two of light being lost. Look up the inverse square law. Once you understand that, a few inches isn't going to stop you from getting the light you want.
it is a problem and it wont work as intended. Six Cycle.. I think you didnt get the inverse square law right. Since this issue has nothing to do with that. The light was built to spread light in almost 360 degrees across the entire cavity of light modifier and when its deep inside its pushing the light only straight forward. Thats not how it was originally designed. You will not receive the light from your modifier in a way it was designed to

Michel Mitri same happened to me. thats why I made this video , so people can see how it works
yes , you are kind of right. doesnt screw to lock however you do have to move it a little to lock it in.

+Serge Rodin it all depends on what strobe you got. Always ask the seller if it's compatible
all metal. has a like rubber/plastic inner circle to hold

Svein Arne Grønnevik just ask all the sellers you can and buy it from whom ever knows their product ,. thats what I did.

Oh okay. So is that piece all metal or plastic?
Can I please have the link to that adapter
isn`t it the problem, that the light source (bulb) is so deep inside ?

Hi. this thing will come to Profoto?
what model , brand. item number?
acguevara profoto d1 (100mm flash head)
Bartosz Orłowski depends where you buy it from. it needs to be in the description that it comes with it. if it doesn't than no. Usually they dont
The flash is too deep inside, thats make ab bad lightcharakter.
this wont work. Light bulb is too deep inside. Thats not how the strobe light is supposed to work.
works really really great actually
