说白了，就是国家内部的矛盾越来越大，人口的持续下滑，年轻人的父母逐渐老去，整个社会巨大的养老压力，高房价低收入，等等问题，共产党很怕学生们对此有意见，纵观中国近代历史，很多政变都是学生起义，64事件成为了学生最后的一次运动，所以共产党现在会不遗余力的在年轻人的社交媒体上，激发民族情绪，抨击西方，转移和掩盖国内矛盾，很多年轻人学生，认识的美国总统比中国主席都多，你问他们习近平上一届主席是谁他们都不知道，李鹏赵紫阳这些名字，他们怕是从来没听过，但是当这些学生出社会了，面对社会压力，就业压力，面对自己老去的父母，30年的贷款，这时候他们就再也没有精力去改变了，怕是连自己都顾不过来了
他们已经出社会了，面对上面你所提到的问题时，他们自然而然的开始抨击资本，痛骂欧美霸权主义，相信国家相信党。

I remember when I was in high school in Beijing I was doing an installation art work that involved making a road sign out of cardboard. While walking home carrying the half completed signed I got stopped by the local cops being asked what the sign is. I had to explain it’s for an art project and they let me home. It seems that the more nationalist and closed-minded a Chinese is, the more they'll value the opinion of a foreign influencer (preferably white, ur spot on on that one). And Chinese influencers, regardless their production value would have to fight for air at the bottom rung of that ladder.

A bit off topic comment, problem with pro-democracy hongkongers is, they don't have an unique cultural or physical strength as leverage. They mostly care only about the "Hong Konger" concept, intensively, or "Hong Kong story", "Hong Kong spirit". But it is actually normal(good part at most but still normal) southern Chinese cultural plus British influence. So in the end, supporting Hong Kong means, simply, support UK. Because without UK cultivating, HK is really, normal. With most of their finance tycoons, entertainment tycoons, legislators, realtors, property owners, having already firmly betrayed the HK concept on this matter and chosen to be obedient to CPC and "greater Chinese ethnicity" concept, the pro-democracy and pro freedom momentum in HK will just become weaker and weaker. The only practical thing that pro-democracy pro rule of laws Hongkongers can do, is to, try to be a normal UK citizen, and forget about that land.
