Very nice, and this is the music my zen teacher uses to instruct me in meditation. But its not so easy to do. At first she just said "clear your mind completely for ten minutes," and to have no thoughts, etc., but after only about 15 seconds I began to have thoughts pop up over and over. After five minutes I drifted off to sleep. Suddenly she smacked me on the back of the head with a wet towell. She said they do that in Zen retreats in Tibet but it hurt like hell. I meditate at home here without fear, but almost always fall asleep within ten minutes. Because she lives on the beach, we go there sometimes and i sit in a very uncomfortable folding chair. She says "just watch the ocean and think of nothing." But after a few moments I begin to think about fishing in the ocean and catching fish, and then "Woooooshhhhhh....splattttt" i get drenched with a pail of ice cold salt water, from, guess who. Lord, to they do that in Tibet? Now I have homework in the form of a riddle to solve. It's, "what is the difference between empty and emptyness." I'm supposed to meditate on that and give her the answer on Saturday. I don't know what will happen if I don't have the right answer. Anyone here have a clue? I could sure use a little help.

Empty implies lack. Emptiness is something that you can actually fill yourself with. It is a readiness to be filled while feeling empty is an awareness of missing things that you desire/want/need. Though you may feel empty, you are truly filled with desire/want/need. Emptiness is a state in which you need no thing because you are filled with being. Don't try to empty your mind of your thoughts. Instead, try and fill your mind with an emptiness. It all may sound really funny, yet once you've done this you will know and understand. :) Tell your zen teacher I said hi! And Namaste. :)
I said that "empty" is just an everuday term to denote a glass is full or empty. Emptyness I think after some study is that things and events have no identity or substance on their own but only stand as part of an interconnected kind of web of life. My teacher said "Pretty good" to that. I'm still having trouble keeping my mind empty of thought, but if I chant the "Ommmmm" sound that helps a little/
Ohming is very powerful. I'm fortunate enough to know several high vibrational people and have learned to meditate through many teachers. I've learned that it's okay if you have thoughts running through your head at first. It is a PRACTICE after all. The key is to not judge yourself and know that you will get better over time. Try the So Hum mantra. you can find videos for it here on youtube. I find it very helpful and use it all the time. :)
Thanks for the tip, David, I'll go look for that So Hum mantra. My teacher is anxious for me to make progress in a speedy manner because of my age. Another problem is that thoughts of my teacher (who I'm starting to become attracted to) are constantly floating through my head. Of course I don't dare mention that.

Just recently I hit what I hope to be a "life changer" which has led me to experiment with music as this. While I began my meditation journey several years ago, I was never too successful with it. That is until I stumbled across this blessing. You see; I'm a bit on the spastic side; walk, talk, do everything fast, kind'a girl. I had about given up on every finding that "nothing" spot when meditating until I started incorporating Reiki Zen music into the mix. Love this meditation.. I'm working on brain and body contact and this meditation helps!!
I listen to this while clearing out or activating the chakra's. Helpful for getting rid of the negative energy or junk that may block them.
I like to focus on each chakra area one at a time and visualize the chakra color in that section. Your Root chakra is red, you can visualize the color red throughout the genitals, base of the spine, tail bone area. You can lay a crystal on that area while you focus on that color and area and then move to the next section. You can even visualize water running through those areas and cleansing them or just sitting and listening to this type of music and clearing your mind of all thoughts, What ever feels natural to you. As you practice it you get stronger and better. Some people prefer a Reiki master to work on them. I hope this was helpful ;)
