The delusions remind of this Reddit story. OP’s friend believed she was gonna marry this super rich guy, and OP couldn’t convince her otherwise no matter what she did. Eventually her friend became homeless and lost everything. Only then did she accept help from her family.
Most of these are based on reddit stories. They just add a little more drama.

Tim isn't just a creep. He's dangerous and needs to go to prison for stalking and terrorising his victim. He is more than capable of killing somebody who spurns his affections. The delusions is strong in this one. And that is quite a twist in this one. The entire time, there was no secret affair partner and it was just a total delusion of a man who have unrequited affection for a woman that he didn't know was a high school friend of his ex-wife.
So in a way, there was something wrong with Tim's mental state despite seemingly sane on the outside. Perhaps it was hereditary considering how his mother reacted.

I finally understand what was going on with this story. Tim in his delusion and twisted mind was thinking that his secret crush Hannah was pregnant with his child but in reality she's already married and she's pregnant with her husband's child and to top it off Hannah didn't want anything to do with Tim but Tim and his mother obviously didn't want to back off but it gets better as soon as Tim tells his mother that Hannah is pregnant with someone else's child she tries to contact Natalie to apologize for the hurtful things she said to her about her not giving her grandchildren. I wonder what Cindy thinks now?(Was funny OP commented on wondering earlier) Not only was the grandchild she argued needed the money more than OP not exist(well kid does but it's not Tim's) but it turned out the girlfriend doesn't either & was in reality some unfortunate girl that Cindy's son harassed at work while he delusionally thought was his affair partner. Also learning her son is so fucking insane that the "girlfriend's" real boyfriend/husband filed a restraining order against him & the "girlfriend" reported him to HR for harassing her & practically stalking her along side almost kidnapping her from the sound of it.
Not only did all that happen Cindy can't message OP again* as OP wants nothing to do with the family. So Cindy is out of a grandchild, out a DIL & a could have been DIL, plus she's left with an insane son that is out of some money thanks to his actions & is out of a job cause he refused to accept his demotion. To top it all off some how the neighbors found out what they did so now both are known as the insane neighbors no one wants to interact with & talk about behind their backs. Something tells me they don't have the ability to move right no or at the very least nowhere to go.

Be funny if one day Tim(or maybe Cindy since I think Tim doesn't want to show his face around due to being shunned) come across OP who is much happier without them. He's desperate & begs her to take him back & that his life has been miserable ever since she left. She tells him to leave her alone & some guy with a kid shows up preventing Tim(and or Cindy) from bugging OP again. The guy asks OP if she's ok before they leave, before OP follows him & the kid she tells Tim/Cindy that she's moved on & found a guy that won't do what Tim did & that they have a family now. Tim/Cindy stare in horror before OP tells them that she better never hear from them again or she'll get a restraining order against them like Hannah did. As she leaves to catch up with her family who it's obvious she's happy with, Tim/Cindy* are left to let it set in that she really isn't returning, she's moved on & worst of all she has what she & Tim could have had if he hadn't been insane & been a creep.
*I dunno why I'm wondering if it'd be better with one or both of them since if it's only one of them was there they'd be going home to tell the other which crushes them even more due to hoping OP would one day return while if it's both they'd both learn at the same time so no need to tell anyone at home

I don't think it's fair to make a villain out of Cindy. She was duped by her crazy son into believing she was going to be a grandmother and was just acting out of concern for her grandchild. I can't fault her for that. She is just as much a victim of Tim's delusions as Natalie and Hannah are.

It’s actually more often than you might think. It’s a variation of.schizophrenia. The sick person sees signs and believes them to be true. It’s very hard for relatives because there’s no way to reach the people by reasoning. Think about how many stalkers there are. It’s not so far from there to the real mentor disorder this serious.
