Like you saw in episode one with the crab monster, you can become a monster if you have an obsession. For example if you have an obsession with being strong you could turn into a monster with a lot of strength. For the powers you could either get them from training (physical abilities) or be born with them.
Rudi spoiler alert for OPM season 1 I mean...Tornado and Blizzard where born with their powers. They TRAINED to make them stronger, but they where infact born with it. Much like a few other characters.

Anyone I have seen who started reacting to both seasons after season 2 came out went on to season 2... except the ones that didn't even finish season 1 that is. There is a difference between the dabblers and the serious reactors, and these people are serious. You can tell they will finish season 2. And there are people who complained about the quality of the animation in season 2, but they forget that season 1 had an animation dream team. They also forget or don't know the history of One Punch Man. The original artwork is really not great as a webcomic, but the story was top notch. Yusuke Murata really cleaned things up, but kept Saitama with his bland face and copied the art for the chibi Tatsumaki. (That's as spoiler as I will get.)

You know, I'm usually a subs over dubs kind of guy, but god damn the English VA for Saitama is fucking great. His ability to switch between completely emotionless and screaming is really impressive, easily on par with the Japanese VA.

Okay, let me explain a theory about powers that seems to be close to the truth. It's not technically a spoiler, as the show really never addresses it properly. The idea is that heroes most of the time get their powers in way that fits their idea of a hero. That's why Saitama is so powerful. He said in the first episode that he sees a hero as someone that can "send villains flying with one punch". His idea is strength. Not cognitive abilities or anything else. As you can see from this episode, mosquito smashing is not part of his idea of a hero, haha. So in a way, he is human apart from overwhelming strength, as this is heroism for him. As for monsters, it's mostly about overdoing something. They tend to each represent an obsession of a kind, especially in the beginning of the show. Pls don't bash my English, typing from a phone and it's not my first language :)

Anton Koshenkov yeah I came up with the same conclusion, that a mosquito isn’t an evil doer therefore he can’t do anything to it, the entire OPM universe works like that, blast is probably the version of saitama who can defeat anyone good or bad with one punch, idk tho that is probably wrong
The mosquito thing is a gag, if Saitama really wants to, he can instantly kill the mosquito. In the manga, Saitama can move faster than the speed of light in order to look at the bald spot on the back of his head in the mirror even before he finishes his training (his hair only starts to fall then). So the reason why he can't kill the mosquito is a joke that show how annoying it is to kill a mosquito IRL.
After this show you should watch Mob Psycho 100. It's from the same author, the art style and humor are very similar and it's even better than OPM imo.
On question for old school anime/ manga fans. There was a movie from the 80s or 90s (it's not moanoke) about a girl and her brother. It starts with them coming across a bunch of hunters getting killed by a giant silver wolf who the kids defeat and later on they fight the literal inspiration for beast king in this episode. The character design is almost identical to beast king and they fight him in a gladiators arena. I have been trying to remember the name of this movie for years. Anyone know what it's called?

Playing minecraft in creative mode all the time can get pretty boring. This is why I only play Dragon Ball The Breakers, and the Saints Row Reboot. And occasionally modded minecraft. You can actually made a super powered human with Dragon Block C, although I find you need addons for a gal character, even if the only change is how much more visibly sexist the mod is. Like, really the only change, not even audio. You do get to have a chest, but only the desegnated "male" characters have minecraft bods, and "female" characters have waistlines in the micrometers. They do have a more Frieza like physique though. Oh, and you can play as that race. I forget the name of it.
