While breaking down my Sumo Freestyle from 2019 on the @barcodez_podcast, I broke down some bars about Tech N9ne & Strange Music Inc. We graduated last year to starting our own label and creating the next era of our catalog that we can fully invest in and own. Yet today, on top of working with itgoesup for distribution, I remain forever grateful to Tech & Trav for their support over the years and introducing us to so many of you over the years.

I honestly think Strange Music is not that great of a company and I suspect them of ripping off their artist in a indirect way. Why do you lose ALL of your big names when you are doing things the right way. And I mean basically all of them.

Nothing lasts forever. Personally we just felt it was time to own our own catalog going forward and the industry has changed a great deal. It’s more beneficial for artists to own their own catalog than it’s ever been. Strange introduced us to tons of our listeners and fans we still have to this day and we’re super grateful for that and we currently continue to distribute our records with their sister company it goes up.

@@WrekonizeTheMusic Nothing last forever, true. But the music industry is a business and like any other businesses, no matter the domain, when the employees don't stay and they leave all at once in a matter of months or a year, more or less, something is wrong in the company. I would never expect ¡Mayday! or any other StrangeMusic artist to come straightforward and say it, but if someone can read between the lines, it's easy to see why StrangeMusicInc crumbled within a few years.
