ARC Protection of Ship’s Pump Jet Thrusters’

This video shows the use of Chesterton’s ceramic reinforced ARC Industrial Coatings protecting pump jet thrusters against erosion corrosion and abrasion.
The pump jets are used on ship’s to aid in manoeuvrability and are particularly suited for use on ship’s operating in very shallow waters.
As the pump jets operate at high speed and are often working in close proximity to the seabed they are subjected to very high levels of erosion corrosion and abrasion due to the in-take of sand, shells and other particles. These high performance coatings have allowed the ship owner to reduce the maintenance on this equipment from annually to every 4 years, providing significant savings.
