  • Finally guys this smaller hitch worked much much better than the first one, it is very important to know your tongue weight before purchasing this hitch.

    It still seems like it's to tight.
    I don't know how many ranges there are, but I'm going to look into it.
    I think of it like a leaf spring. The thinnest amount of springs to handle the max load gives the best ride.
    For work I always bought 1/2 tones and air bags for 3/4 ton work and 3/4 tons with air bags for 1 ton work. Up to a point then the added tires and brakes were needed.

    • @workplaytv
      @workplaytv 6 лет назад +1

      Eddie's Life Yeah there’s that issue where the Gen-Y hitch is longer pulling it away from the truck . But also the new Chev HDS and Ford Superdutys made it damn near impossible to hook up the chain hooks through the truck hitch holes. Using a carabiner makes it easy.

    Also look into sulastic springs, they change your rear shackles on the leaf springs and absorbs loads without a loaded down truck also without lowering your max payload. And yes it even works while fully loaded, check out there reviews makes 3500 ride like 1500 according to some reviewers. $400ish well spent

      Those travel trailers and especially toy haulers are known to often have 5% or less tongue weight from the factory. I bet they barely had 500 at the tongue before weight distribution.

    Having non crossed chains + that short, sketches me out, and I've never seen a trailer with the chains mounted so close to each other.
    Although I've never liked the concept of towing much with a lifted truck. I'm to used to commercial sized (just sub CDL) trucks with Pintle hitches.

      No lie! But locals all their rides 4wheelers or SxS's everywhere!. Us outa state riders surprised first trip in. My gps brought me into Ashland Resort in Northfork The Back Way lol. Except for the interstate, WV main roads are Logging Roads and Outlaw Trails! Then you get to the access for Hatfield McCoy trail systems haha. Some of the trails are groomed better than the local roads! Best trail riding I've found there tho. For camping the easiest access is at Burning Rock. Cabins and Camping with hook ups at both places.

    Just a suggestion. Having the safety chains crisscrossed stops the tongue of the trailer from hitting the ground if it was to ever come off. The tongue would fall on the chains instead of the ground like a hammock saving alot of damage to the tongue. Yes you would need longer and stonger chains to do that.

    I would like to see that hitch used with a big trailer like yours on I-76 in Colorado, it's a concrete highway but every crack is a bump, it's really bad, I run the left lane.

      Eddie's Life maybe put some white or yellow paint line marks on the torsion arm so we can see better if it is acutally moving or soaking up the ride. It looks like a badass hitch but its really hard to see on camera if its even doing something

    No michigan has the worst roads ryan because they gust deteriorate over time and plus putting salt down doesn't help eather so you should come here and compare the roads of Michigan to the roads of California

    • @johnpike9612
      @johnpike9612 6 лет назад +1

      Jacob Lawrence I agree, I've driven both and FAR prefer the road quality of California....now the traffic on the other hand is a different story lol

      Lmfao, I was gonna say the same thing. I’ve driven in both states and I live in MI. Cali is glass compared to Mi, try hauling a trailer and hitting a crater. Bad ass trucks and cool vids though!

      CT HAS the worst roads in the US. Are states road budget is spent on welfare to re elect the same ppl. They don't maintain shit
