Very well done! It’s easy to see all the work you’ve put into this video and it’s greatly appreciated. Love the list, especially 31 and 121, both of which are major milestones in Spidey history and don’t get mentioned as often as they should. Thanks again
Very interesting as always, especially as I’ve started picking up some Spider-Man books recently. Am content with my asm 252 8.5 & asm 300 6.5 as higher grades are getting out of reach. Bagged an asm 195 (origin & 2nd app. of black cat) on the cheap, having taken your advice about more affordable 2nd & 3rd appearances of key characters 👍
What a difference a year makes. I would love to see a comparison to today's ASM current values to that of the values in this video. That would be interesting.
Another great video... thanks! It really gets you thinking of how hard it is to do a top 10, or top 13 list for Spiderman. So many great books in there. Can I ask, I have been after an AF 15. The thing is, the one I’ve found has lost its cover. Do you think it’s worth getting it..and how how much do you think something like that is even worth? Other than having lost it’s cover, the pages are in great shape.
Thanks! For a coverless copy it would all come down to price. I honestly have no idea what a coverless copy goes for. You have to try and find prior sales of coverless copies but that can be tough. I’m just guessing, but it’s probably worth 1-2k as a coverless copy, but I’m just throwing a number out based on what 0.5s go for (around 10k).
I’ve been thinking about it. But yeah, I’ve noticed this video resurface on my RUclips metrics. It’s been getting quite a few views recently for a 1-year+ old video.
Thank you for the many interesting facts abt ASM Ryan -- A few honorable mentions for the list might be.. #101 1st Morbius #102 Lizard & Morbius #119 Spidey v Hulk #122 Death of Harry Osborne Goblin #124 1st Man Wolf #135 2nd Punisher These may be "sleepers" for the next tier collector, like myself 🙂 I enjoyed your Top Ten Spideys list very much Automatic 👍
Amazing Spiderman #50 is still extremely underrated. The Iconic cover would have been enough to justify its value, add a major key like first appearance of Kingpin and the book should already have been worth double what it's currently selling for. Just my opinion.
It’s a misconception though that it is much rarer at 9.8. The 9.8s of the newsstands are still selling for significantly more than the directs, even back in the early 80s/late 79. For example, the newsstand of X-men 129 in a 9.8 sold for over 13k. Whereas the direct sold for $6600. The newsstands are much more common in general, but not at high grade.
@@voidvoid4066 if you look at sales history of these books you can see that for most books (even early on) they are more rare in newsstand at a 9.8 even when there are more newsstand books being printed. Unfortunately CGC doesn’t track newsstand vs direct, so sales is the best alternative to look at this.
@@AutomaticComics not correct. print runs of early directs are well documented and much rarer at around 10% for this issue. That is a fact. News stand variants become rarer in late 80s. People just don’t understand this as they think all news stands are rare like ASM 300.
I’m not talking about print runs. I’m talking about the number of issues in 9.8. I’ve looked into quite a few different books about this with respect to sales data of 9.8s of directs and newsstands. It’s fine if you don’t agree, but I have spent quite a bit of time looking into these sales and I know what I’m talking about.
Awesome video! please keep them coming. Love the topic and very helpful.
Thanks!
Interesting video to watch a year later to see the changes yet again. Also, noticing the changes on the case shelves behind you.
You obviously put in a lot of work today this video! Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it, thanks a lot =)

Not a big Spidey guy, but my brother is, and I'll make sure he sees this. Great stuff!
Thanks! Always happy to have people share the videos =)
Nice top 10, great 1st appearances and books to have. Nice vid Automatic. 👍✌
Thanks a lot!

Glad I could give some useful advice =). ASM 195 seems undervalued to me with how much 194 has gone up. Plus she’s on the cover of that one too.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking of doing kind of a revisit video to some of these from the comic boom period.
Another great video... thanks!

There is space for a Top Ten ASM part 2. Give it some thought my friend.10 out of 10 for me. Great video, congrats. Next!
Thanks =). There are definitely plenty of ASM keys to create multiple lists.
I am really loving these videos. You speak very well and know your sh$@. Keep going my friend. Let’s see how FF has grown.
Thanks =). FF is the next one on my list!
Got excited when this popped up because I thought it was a new video. Maybe time for an update?

Nice list - so many choices... I think ASM 16 is an under the radar key - 1st Daredevil crossover, one of the only yellow suit Daredevil books.
That’s actually one of the books I recommended maybe 4 weeks ago in one of my market videos because of how much DD1 had gone up =). So good choice!
Thanks for info
Thanks for watching =)
Great picks. In my opinion AF15, ASM 1, ASM 3 and ASM 14 are the most iconic Spider-Man books
We’ve got a lot of overlap there =)
awesome list !
Thanks!
Excellent information on what appears to be a recession proof asset (so far). Evidently, a thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Great summary
Thanks!
Prob gonna wait 25 years to get a asm 1 or hulk 181. Least I have a asm 238 though lol
They are getting extremely expensive now for sure.
Thank you for the many interesting facts abt ASM Ryan -- A few honorable mentions for the list might be..
#101 1st Morbius
#102 Lizard & Morbius
#119 Spidey v Hulk
#122 Death of Harry Osborne Goblin
#124 1st Man Wolf
#135 2nd Punisher
These may be "sleepers" for the next tier collector, like myself 🙂
I enjoyed your Top Ten Spideys list very much Automatic 👍
Thanks! Yeah, there are a ton of keys in ASM for sure. You could almost just have a list with the first 10 issues =).
great picks! Please do one of these for X-Men 🍿🍿🍿
Luckily for you I did one for X-men about 2 weeks ago if you’d like to check it out =)
Can. You. Do. A. Avengers. Captain. America. And. Thor. Top. Ten.
I'll definitely look into doing those as well =). Thanks for the recommendations.

Yep, a great book. One of my favorite covers for sure.
ASM 194 has direct edition which is much rarer than newsstand. This is starting to effect price

Amazing Spiderman number 50 is the new fantasy 15
GREAT LIST LOVE SPIDEY
Thanks! Me too =).
Awesome
Green goblin definitely the biggest villain for Spider-Man.
Asm 31 is a ticking time bomb
💣
ASM 41 is MJ first full appearance. Agree MJ is a mess
Definitely =). It’s 43 that is her first full appearance, since 42 is the first time you see her face (the panel I showed).
@@AutomaticComics correct my typo. It’s also origin of rhino. I picked up 9.2 12 months ago
That’s an incredible grade for that book. 👏
