Did some good fishing this week on Lake St clair. Went out on my 11ft inflatable zodiac and the smallies and pike were going CRAZY! Best part is I got some nice footage and I hope to post it soon!
Those bucktail seems to be a wonderful attractions to the walleye huh... very nice lunch you guys had that day.... i have to try that technique.... thanks Ivo for a wonderful episode...
Haha I wish I said somthing , I was out on the 17ft mako and you drifted by and just said hi and I swore it was your boat! Thanks again for the response much appreciated !!!!
Andrew Johnston Hi Andrew - we were out there today :) Had a fantastic day using the bucktail flexi jigs and the teaser-t's - got some fantastic footage, but our mic volume was off :( Oh well, we'll just have to do some more fishing in order to film an episode.....any excuse to get back out there is a good one :)
rabbit Sp We are releasing a special catfish 3 part series...part 1 and 2 just aired and part 3 is coming in 2 weeks and will talk about baits :) ruclips.net/video/S6phxVTTDp0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/mplU4Ja_jZ4/видео.html
Hey Ivo! Remember when i was complaining about not catching any Walleyes? Well, i was out at Port Austin, MI about 2 weeks ago, and I caught my first Walleye! I was using a trout spinner of all things!
Benaiah Husemann Glad you enjoyed this walleye video and good luck with the bullheads :) ruclips.net/video/1hiLiwpOes0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/E1Ub5NB2gm4/видео.html
You guys should fish on the Long Island sound in New York. There are Striped Bass, Bluefish, Sea bass, porgy, dogfish, tons of fish that are very fun to catch.
Hi Donald.....look for an area with weeds that then drops down into deeper water. The weeds will sparce out as it gets deeper crating a "weed edge" fish the edge as there will be active fish there. I held a walleye seminar a while ago and share many tips...here is is, I think you will like it :) ruclips.net/video/JI9TH21LMOY/видео.html
James Gallagher Hi James - For Jigging, I like to use a 6 or 6 1/2 foot rod...easy to control :) For line, suggest using the 10 lb Thunderbraid with a 10 lb Thundercarbon leader - both lines are extremely thin :) Good luck on the walleyes :)
Kyle Windsor Hi Kyle - for bass fishing, I like to use jigs and crank baits, among other lures as well :) Check out the Thundermist T-Drop as drop shotting is also a great technique to use :)
Another great video! When you talk about your setup, would you please be sure to talk about what color jig you're using and why? You normally do this with your Viper Spoons, but haven't seen/heard you do this w/ your buck tail flexi jigs. I'm going to order some, but I'm not sure what colors to get...
Dave Pekala Hi Dave....the black/red combo shows well in tea-stained water, as does the Black/red/yellow combo. the glow white is good for fishing deep or evenings/night and the chartreuse on bright sunny days. Thanks for the feedback and hope you get into some nice walleyes :) We ended up having a fantastic fish fry for lunch that day
Dave Pekala ....that's not a bad idea to travel with a cast iron skillet...wish I had thought of that :) :) :) we rented a cottage and they had the frying pans, although for this trip, ironically that you ask, Antonio actually brought one of his :)
Great video with awesome tips! I am looking to give Sturgeon Lake a try for some Walleye this weekend. Any information on where on the lake to try and maybe a good boat launch? Thanks a bunch
Adrian L Glad you enjoyed this weed walleye episode Adrian and there's a good boat launch right at the end of Long Beach Road - good fishing right there or in Goose bay - good luck :)
Great job in switching over to 60fps. The videos have never looked so good. Oh and the product info link is also a neat add-on! Love to see your channel progress!
the marker has a sinker and once the sinker hits bottom, the marker stops unraveling...sometimes in heavy wind, it may unravel more, depending on the design of the marker...some hold in the wind better than others :)
Hi evo Love your videos. If u remember me am tripod Please please could u do saltwater shore fishing please using both lure and bait and tips I catch a lot a fish from shore please if u can I will die for u am a huge fishing addict
Hi Peter - sorry for my delay in responding as I mush have accidentally not seen your question....these jigs are called the Bucktail Flexi Jigs and you can of course get them direct from Thundermist Lure Company but also may be able to find what you are looking for at Tackledirect.com or Amazon
hi Ivo, great video, I do not own a boat so I only go walleye fishing 5-10 times a year. what is your favourite walleye lure, mine is a bucktail jig. what is your favourite walleye spot within 2 hours of the gta, mine is balsam lake.
wow, I didn't think there where walleyes in rice lake anymore. what is your biggest walleye, mine is 14 pounds and was caught at the Newcastle marina. thank you for taking the time to respond (:
+reelfishing Rice Lake is loaded with walleye and if you ever go, you will do well. Congrats on your largest walleye....I'm not sure how big my biggest was, but have caught some monsters on Lake Erie and also on the Bay of Quinte (which is also another great spot)
NerdShark Sturgeon Lake is good but so is Pigeon and Buckhorn,......If you go to Upper Buckhorn, check out the area around Scotsman point :) and Pigeon Lake south has all the weeds - good luck - you should get into some nice walleye as well as some incidental muskies
Good chance to get bigger fish in the fall as they will begin to move closer to their spawning areas - live bait on a T-Turn bait rig#2 is good as is jigging for them....in fact, they will also readily take a crankbait, such as the large Misty Minnow or American Smelt crank baits :)
There is no weed guard, but once you feel a weed, you just "snap" the jig out of the weeds and it usually comes out - however, this only works with sparse weeds (i.e. not the thick ones )
James Gallagher Hi James - A T-Turn rig with live bait is one excellent choice (ruclips.net/video/GFmn-kcCLfs/видео.html) and another great choice would be the Flexi Buck-tail Jigs as well as the Python Darters. Top water baits are also a good choice :) Many options available for you and hope you get into some nice stripers....things are just starting to heat up now :)
Hey Ivo and Antonio! Two of my friends along with myself were up at Sturgeon last week as well hunting down walleye and panfish. We rented a boat that time, but we're all young guys without our own boat and are searching for shore fishing spots, which allows us a more affordable trip. Have you heard of any or come across any shore fishing spots on Sturgeon or any other kawartha lakes? Thanks from Phillip in Toronto! Great Video!
pantelisbouzouki Hi Philip - glad you enjoyed this walleye video and great to hear from you in Toronto :) As far as shore spots to fish for walleye, try your existing spots, but try them just as the sun goes down and 1 - 2 hours into the darkness - the walleye will move into the shallows to feed, so if there are some weeds in the area, it should be good and evening is a great time to fish form shore for walleyes :)
hi Jim....not sure if anyone up there is carrying any of our products yet, but Fishing World and Bills Bait & Tackle in Hamilton both do - just call first to check inventory :) If not, there's always on line from Thundermist or Amazon or Tackle Direct. Good lcuk on the water

fantastic video. still a walleye novice. can't seem to find where they are?

Would bass pro have your t-turns?
Thomas Powers Not yet....but most Gander Mountain and Dicks Sporting Goods do :) So does Tackle Direct and Amazon along with many other tackle shops
***** awesome we have a dicks right across from bass pro I'll have to stop there
what pole would be good and what pound line?
James Gallagher Hi James - For Jigging, I like to use a 6 or 6 1/2 foot rod...easy to control :) For line, suggest using the 10 lb Thunderbraid with a 10 lb Thundercarbon leader - both lines are extremely thin :) Good luck on the walleyes :)
***** PS> rod should be medium or medium/heavy action :)
Great episode. Im wanting to get into bass fishing. What method do u prefer?
Kyle Windsor Hi Kyle - for bass fishing, I like to use jigs and crank baits, among other lures as well :) Check out the Thundermist T-Drop as drop shotting is also a great technique to use :)

JT Outdoors When fishing the weeds I would not however, when fishing the rocks, I would :)
Ok thanks!!

iPwnisher Thanks for such great feedback on our film quality - it is very much appreciated :)
How does the marker stay in place?
the marker has a sinker and once the sinker hits bottom, the marker stops unraveling...sometimes in heavy wind, it may unravel more, depending on the design of the marker...some hold in the wind better than others :)
That's the luckiest Perch ever !!
LOL :)
Ivo are you from Minnesota? Or Canada?

Hi Peter - sorry for my delay in responding as I mush have accidentally not seen your question....these jigs are called the Bucktail Flexi Jigs and you can of course get them direct from Thundermist Lure Company but also may be able to find what you are looking for at Tackledirect.com or Amazon
Hi, I would love to give this a try but I live in the interior in BC. it sucks there's no walleye around Kamloops. :(
+Lachlan Thistlethwaite ....hope someday you are able to give walleye fishing a try :)
have you ever fished bay of quinte
I fished it but it was many years agao....I may try to get back up there again :)
hi Ivo, great video, I do not own a boat so I only go walleye fishing 5-10 times a year. what is your favourite walleye lure, mine is a bucktail jig. what is your favourite walleye spot within 2 hours of the gta, mine is balsam lake.
+reelfishing bucktail jigs are also one of my favorites and Rice Lake is one of my favorite walleye lakes, outside of Lake Erie of course :)
wow, I didn't think there where walleyes in rice lake anymore. what is your biggest walleye, mine is 14 pounds and was caught at the Newcastle marina. thank you for taking the time to respond (:

bay of quite is where I do most of my walleye fishing
Hi Ivo. Great catches. I always wondered, what is the name of the intro and outro song?
TheAwesomesloth....not sure.....our webmaster takes care of that for us :)
I'm hoping to visit the Kawartha lakes very soon! Any good locations?
NerdShark Sturgeon Lake is good but so is Pigeon and Buckhorn,......If you go to Upper Buckhorn, check out the area around Scotsman point :) and Pigeon Lake south has all the weeds - good luck - you should get into some nice walleye as well as some incidental muskies
Will follow our advice, thank you so much, Ever fished Gull Lake South of Minden?
...have not fished gull lake yet......
Can you do some videos on how to read the lakes and how to locate fresh weeds and other structures?
xxgg We'll see what we can do :)
***** you make the best fishing videos ever )
Nolan MEEKER Thanks Nolan - that means a lot to us :)
nice fish! you guys get a new camera? really good quality on this last video i noticed.
Kurt Manning Glad you noticed Kurt :) We had a great day walleye fishing and a nice lunch as well
Thank you for the videos is there any tips fishing a river in the fall or how walleye behave in the fall I’m in wyoming

aaa okay perfect thanks buddy
hey ivo I have a question, what is your rig for stripers in the ocean off the beach ? PLZ answer
Sorry I mean boat less
Is this Sturgeon in the Kawartha's?
Yes - this walleye episdoe was filmed on sturgeon lake in the Kwarthas :)
hi, can you tell what size of line and jig u use? thanks
10 lb test line and the jig was a 3/8 oz Flexi Jig :)
Oh ok
How do you not get snagged on rocks or weeds?
+pAT C one of the key things to do is to have short casts, as this will help prevent snags :)
Hey Ivo and Antonio! Two of my friends along with myself were up at Sturgeon last week as well hunting down walleye and panfish. where i can buy your lure in Markham or Richmond hill?
hi Jim....not sure if anyone up there is carrying any of our products yet, but Fishing World and Bills Bait & Tackle in Hamilton both do - just call first to check inventory :) If not, there's always on line from Thundermist or Amazon or Tackle Direct. Good lcuk on the water
Can you purchase them by mail or online?
....on line at thundermistlures.com or amazon or tackle direct :)
Holy McIlroy!
So much for the great outdoors, look at the shoreline. If I had to go fishing in that set up I'd go into stamp collecting.
The boatless angler seems to be on a boat often.
anajay78 LOL :)
Yup
i noticed you werent afraid to unhook the walleye with your bare hands. dont they have teeth?
yes - they do have teeth and very sharp ones too :)
Sun never came out, sucks
>>>>>>>>
Are you a boneless angler? Mr.ivo
Sean Torigoe Hi Sean....I have a boat but I often fish boat-less as i also like to fish from shore too :)
14 inches omg too small
Thanks for your feedback....sometimes slot sizes vary, but they generally are designed to help the fishery :)
+Thundermist Lures still too small.
