Some devices don't seem to respond properly to this toggle, so it may not work on every device. It all depends on the OEM. :) Crossing my fingers that it works for you 🤞

Try custom ROM like Lineage OS or Project Elixir, currently i am using one in my 2018 old phone and it's butter smooth.
@@narutouzumaki-dk2mv what is even the point of "custom ROMs" and how does one use them, when I googled it just sounded pointless and stressful
I'd rather have an option to disable the back gestures on the left side, so that they don't interfere with app side menus to be honest.
There is one if you use a samsung and install goodlock then one handed operation plus

You can hold the left edge for a second and it will trigger the app's menu instead of the back button. I was shocked when i discovered that i can do this instead of going all the way to the top left
Glad to see they are finally bringing some of the Developer Options into Android itself. Some of those Options have been in there for Years. I always change the Animation Scale whenever I get a New Phone I set it to the lowest so it makes your Phone feel faster.
the lowest feels the fastest, but I leave it at 1x so it feels smoother, but to each their own

eh, anything other than x1 feels wrong to me, and people who say disabling animations make it smoother are insane
For anyone wondering why it's not working in most of the apps. Because it needs to be enabled and coded by the developer in the app. So for now, it'll work mostly with the system apps or say Google apps. It'll work eventually when the developer designs his app in that way.

Said something with enabling something in the manifest folder for s23 Ultra
that's for developers, when creating apps there is a manifest file developers can modify.
It says what permission that app uses, one of which would predictive gestures which would need to be enabled by the developer.

Yea meaning you can go to the apps manifest and change it there. Will need android studio or any apk extract or whatever it's called like apk tool

Pixel 6 pro. I enabled it but it made my system crash all the time so I had to disable it and now no more system UI crashes. For anyone who is using it and notices UI crashes

Didn't work on s23, says that needs another option enabled to work but it's not available.
U don't of to enable predict back animation to use that feature go in settings type in navigation bar an enable swipe gesture to use it slide D navigation bar to the right r left u see it sameway

I'm sorry to say this, but OnePlus/OxygenOS 10 bottom navigation gestures were peak. It all went massively downhill from there
Left bottom swipe up: back
Middle bottom swipe up: Return to launcher
Middle bottom swipe up and hold: Access recent apps
Right bottom swipe up: back (as well)
No sluggishly animated arrows, no accidental swiping an app's side menu out when you didn't mean to. It just worked beautifully..

I absolutely hate gestures. Still sticking with 3 button navigation...
Three-button navigation was perfect. iPhone's old home button was also perfect. Now both companies only use clunky gestures, it's a massive shame.
At least in android you can change it to the navigation buttons on most devices

I have a xiaomi mi 11 with miui 14.0.2 (android 13) and I don't have this feature. Also enabling it in developer options doesn't do nothing. So I say you're full of bullshit
this feature is app dependent, developers have to add enableOnBackInvokedCallback: true in their manifest file, then only app will support this feature.

Just a quick reminder to NEVER EVER upgrade to Android 12 because it's shit and slow. The ram plus doesn't make your phone faster but it makes it slower and use more health (battery) resources in background...

Only seems to work in system apps only while back button takes to home screen
I mean it does show up on developer options, it's just that it's pointless to any other android 13 devices besides google pixel of course.
