It is shocking Lyon wasn’t a star for this game. He single-handedly kept us in this game and kept us in a position to tie and win the game in the shootout.
How does letting in wrist shots from the top of the circle get you a star?
40 saves to keep your team in the game is a good showing. I feel bad for any goalie that has to play behind the Wings D right now.

He’s getting a ton of chances. He just needs a little luck.
I know but it’s just getting a little frustrating. He’s a talented shooter and with all of these chances I feel like he should be scoring a little more. I know players aren’t going to be lights out perfect all the time. But a little bit more finishing from him and it would game changing.

I mean he’s at an almost 36 goal pace as it stands and his shooting percentage is just below his average so good chance he’ll end up picking up a couple more goals than anticipated. Still could see him clip 40 with how he scores in bunches

People blame the goaltending but our d turnovers and breakout are some of the sloppiest i've seen. Just barely managing to cover it up in the other end with some brilliant play.
Feels like the guys are so impatient to score like they were at the beginning of the year, they just fumble it like a senior with a condom wrapper on prom night.
Love the Wing's support on the west coast. It's a beautiful thing!

Went to bed after the 1st... DAMN was I glad to see this when I woke up.
Some blown coverage on the king's goals. But got some dirty ones back. I didn't think we would get one over the kings glad we did. Crazy seeing Kane do that for the wings use to see him coming in on a wings goalie with all them stick handles.
Well the Cat is probably stoked they won. Imagine the frustration if they’d lost knowing he had the game on his stick twice! Sick win by the Wings. Raymond is a bad ass.✊🏽
Raymond played poorly
Something has changed over the last few games, we’re finally getting in front of the puck and blocking shots, Kane is starting to mesh with our offense whereas before it was almost like we were forcing our offense to work with Kane.
Lyon played another solid game, if it wasn’t for him we would have lost this game. Great W boys 🔥

@@mattd2026 Yep, Kane won’t be here for the entire season if we don’t. Our schedule has been really tough and it’s not letting up any time soon, gotta win the easy games and at least get a point in the tough matchups to have a shot at the playoffs. Atlantic division is so close this year so it really is 50/50

WOW ! An unexpected gem in my RUclips lineup for this morning. Posted less than 50 minutes ago and almost 500 views. Great coverage awood. Wonder if we will ever allow less than 3 goals again this year.
We did a damn good job for as long as we did tbh, and even moreso considering two of the goals came in the first 5 minutes. Especially in the last half of the game, the Wings defense actually looked like a competent defense at most points.

The truly GREAT goal scorers make it look easy. Kane makes it look so effortless. They see the game in slow motion.
After the first period I would have told you Detroit will lose the game 7-0. The Kings D is smothering. Their back check is phenomenal. It was incredibly hard to get a quality scoring chance against them. That being said, the Wings ground it out and somehow got the win. Without Lyon, we don’t win. The Kings have to feel like they were held up at gunpoint and robbed.

Lyon proved tonight that he should be our starting goaltender from now on. He single-handedly won us this game. I love Husso but he wouldn’t have only allowed 3 goals in a game like this with bad defense
@@JaredGoofball I couldn’t agree more. I like Husso also, but lately he needs 4-5 goals to get the win. That’s not a good recipe for the big picture and definitely not for the playoffs. I would be shocked if we don’t do something at the trade deadline to help the D. The D can help knock that number down and not just put it on the netminders.
@@WSTMike I agree and do not forget that in the playoffs, chances of us scoring 5 each night is slim, so they better get their defense turned around and some solid goal tending and try to win those 2-1 or 3-2 games

Backchecking after the first 10 minutes of the game was good. First time I have seen the guys pointing out defensive assignments too. No needless pinches at the blue line either.

Was always curious, when you make highlights, are you taking notes from when the game is going on? For example, writing down times during a big save, goal, etc.
Or do you watch the replay after the game/when you know they’re going to win for highlights?
I take notes while the game is live.

What a game. I'm really bummed I couldn't watch it because I live in So Cal and don't subscribe to Bally Sports West and couldn't afford to attend the game 😵
Also I like how you edited the highlights. Nice mix of non-scoring action without being a bunch of fluff or being ONLY a replay of goal scoring highlights.
NHL & NFL can cut a piece off his work standarts tbh - it's the best highlight format in sports.
I have the same problem with the Bally takeover here in Michigan. However, it's a blessing in disguise as it's much better to watch it here without all the commercials from Bally to bet on sports!!! I think it's total BS that they want to charge me extra to watch my local sport teams!!!! That's what the commercials are for you Ass-hats...

The end of the second pretty much summarizes the officiating Detroit has received this year: Seider is pushed or punched for seemingly no reason, he responds with a slash to the shin pad at about 50%, Seider is then punched directly in the face and then every one hugs and dances til they separate. Guess what penalties are accessed......yup, just 2 minutes to Seider for slashing! Hahahahaha what a joke
The league and refs have hated the Wings since '09 when they gave the cup to pitt.

If we fall out of playoff contention we absolutely should trade him, but only if we fall out. He's not here play for the Wings, he's here to play for a cup. If the Wings make it then great he'll play for us in spring. If not, then he's proven he can still produce so he and Stevie will find a contender who will take him for a 2nd round pick or something. Otherwise he'll probably walk away in the off season and we get nothing.

Wish Awood owned Sportsnet so we'd get top quality replays of ALL NHL games. Lyon shook off that early onslaught to steal this one. Fabbri Sprong & Compher worked their tails off on both sides of the ice. Still, the shots disadvantage shows we don't have the team defense and speed to consistently beat playoff teams.

Good game boys. Mo needs to keep it simple though.
But you also have to admit that he's having a hard time this season.
The league obviously doesn't like it when they are paraded by a rookie and promoted into the boards on an assembly line - you can see that in almost every game.
Many people have adapted to his style of play and he actually has to change something drastically and it's not even done that easily.
In addition, he himself is often the target of hard checks because he is now worth sending him to the box, even if you have to leave the ice too.
But I also see that he has already changed a lot, unfortunately these are not so obvious things that can be directly attributed to him.
He's very young and will make it, I'm sure.
