Jason Whaling Hi! Do you have a video that starts from the beginning (actually walk through of initial setup) because I watched 3 different videos of yours but I can’t seem to get pass the setup when it asks; get more calls, get more website sales or signups, and get more visits to your physical location! Also, when it asks for a business website, I’m just so lost lol, but thanks!
You just need to choose the custom campaign option, select video, and then move on... When it asks for your website, you don't need to add one. It's optional even though it doesn't look that way. Here's a link to the longest tutorial I have... Zero to Launch: RUclips Ads Campaign Tutorial 2019: ruclips.net/video/6PBIPH74VSE/видео.html

🙏Thank you so much.... Sounds like mission accomplished😁. I sincerely hope you feel like you have everything you need to get your first few RUclips ads campaigns going. Time to test 🗓🔥
Jason - man I am delighted to see your channel growing - congrats. Quick question if I may (I am trying to follow all your strategies to the T.) I set up a campaign with a skippable pre roll ad. One ad group is my 540 day remarketing audience. I set up a second ad group (same video) to target a competitor channel. Is that wrong to mix the 2 types of audiences in the same campaign? (Additionally, it looks like they need different budgets - the channel competition ad is not even showing at the budget I am using.) thanks - any help appreciated. Just trying to set this up properly.
Thank you and happy to help! You are on the right track keeping them separate like that. I would never put them in the same campaign since the targeting types are so different. A good way to think about campaigns is keeping the same type of audience. One campaign targeting channels, another targeting topics, then your remarketing audiences (540/90/60) in another campaign. Just like you have setup. In terms of the budgets yes, they will differ along with what you'll have to bid to finally get impressions. Side Note - targeting channels with in-stream tends not to work for some reason; so most of the time we use discovery (in-feed) instead
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks Jason, I will turn that 2nd group off right away, as it is in the wrong campaign - too different of an audience. I thought differing audiences were all fine at the group level - but I see what you mean with the types of audience. So for example, if I had a remarket campaign a better group split might be 540 day rm US & Similar, and then another group 540 day rm EU - but not a channel...correct?
Just subbed to your channel. Thanks for the tutorial. I was going through your comments. It's really nice how you take time out to reply your viewers comments
Amazing, super clear and useful. What about the length of the video we use for Discovery Ads? Is it the same as a short or a long one? Thanks, I appreciate it.
I don't think the length is important as much as the content of the video. The point is to promote a video that people would want to watch organically.
Hey Jason, thanks for the info. The vid was very helpful. I had one question. To clarify, since you recommend re-uploading our original content video as unlisted, are we then trying to redirect viewers who click on this discovery ad to the original video? Or are we just trying to get them to subscribe to our channel? That was the only thing I was confused about. Wouldn't we be essentially paying for views on a video that we aren't even promoting? Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you!
Great question. We want people to subscribe. All the views would be directed to the unlisted re-uploaded video; not the original. The idea is you just need people to see your content and hit that subscribe button - which can be accomplished by using the unlisted, re-uploaded video.
very informative thanks for sharing, bookmarked it to come back to use it when my video is ready! Jason you are awesome with all the little details you provide !
@@JasonAWhaling so we aren’t driving any traffic to the organic RUclips video? does it link to that video? or are we just trying to get new subscribers but not get more views on certain videos? thanks
Thanx for clarifying. I am not a low-tech person but Google Ads are very complex and very similar names of ads. Your video explains so well. I really appreciate that. ReUploading and Targeting Type tips are priceless.
I wished I knew about this video before wasting $170 and got nothing and killed the watch hours as you mentioned. Awesome video. Very clear and detail.

Hello Jason, I was wondering, is it possible to advertise to more than one channel in the same ad? I noticed an option for multiple placements at the bottom 30:51. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks... Good Stuff! You seem to have a well rounded way of explaining methods that are easy to understand, but also interesting enough, causing the viewer to stay engaged and continue learning more, as your video progresses... Nice Job.
Hey Jason. This is awesome, thank you very much. How come I don't see all those options when I open google ads link? Do you need to have a certain amount of subscribers to advertise?
@@JasonAWhaling thanks however I found out after spending money on ads that these watch hours do not count for monetization, that is very disappointing.
Hey Jason! This video was unbelievably helpful. I have a quick question for you. In your experience, are you better off using a channel trailer video, or a reuploaded video of the actual content on your channel?
I prefer using a re-uploaded content video because it's more natural. I tend to personally get better results too - It's leading with value as opposed to telling people why they should subscribe
hey jason! thanks so much for the step-by-step tutorial! just setup some campaigns for $1 a day with your help! currently waiting for them to be approved, but i was wondering if you have a rough estimate on how many impressions each ad group should be getting for it to be considered good? so if they're not performing well, i can change things such as targeting another channel! thanks again!
You'll want to focus on your CPV and the watch time. You may have campaigns with really low impressions but as long as CPV and watch time look good; keep the campaign going! I have some campaigns that get a few 100 impressions a week.
Hey Jason, I have been watching plenty of your content! I have a quick question, with helping small gaming channels to grow, is it better do set ad "in-stream" or "discovery"?
For growing channels I'm a big fan of using Discovery ads. They allow you to promote content and while they have a lower watch time, you'll get people who are actually interested clicking following a more natural flow of how they'd find your channel organically.
Hi Jason, I have watched your entire video and followed every step that you have showed. Thanks for this amazing video. I saw one video in my list that says eligible and the others are pending. Does it mean that once I have done all these steps and the videos become eligible they are currently running as ads?
Yes, eligible = ads are live. If your don't see any impressions within 72 hours you can try doubling your bids... After that you can try different targeting. Sometimes ad groups targeting channels don't get impressions for some reason
Jason Whaling thank you so much. I see them running now. I’m waiting and watching the metrics so that I can see what happens after a week. Thanks for your great videos. I couldn’t have done it without you. Your method of teaching is very clear and easy to follow.
Super helpful man. I am doing an nba content channel and am going to take your advice and use one of my more popular videos to re upload. The main goal is that they then watch another one of my videos after right? So is the best way to do that by adding a playist or another video at the end screen of this unlisted video? And do I still ask them to comment and like the unlisted video?
@@JasonAWhaling thanks for replying! I have a new food channel and after I posted an ad on display, CPV, from 50000 impressions I got 1200 views and 16 subscribers of which some channels trying to gain a one vs one subscriber. Is this good for such a small campaign?
Great Content Jason. I have one specific video (public) which I use only for ads. It has Great no. of Views but the Worst watch time (as you said) QUESTION: Should I be considering of Unlisting that video now? or just leave it as it is. I know it will never have an organic growth on it. But I hope that doesn't impact on the entire channel.
Really high quality informative content, I appreciate it very much. It makes sense how your video would get rated poorly if there is low watch time on it. Does a channel have a "general watch time" rating to it? Basically is there any downside to having the ad videos with most likely poor watch time associated with your channel?
Thank you for this! This is exactly what we needed. First time put out the video it went crazy, then kept doing the exact same thing and didn't get the same traffic.
I don’t understand the re-upload part or why we can’t use our regular video. It’s like we gotta create 2 videos one videos gets views while the other video don’t.
I'm only part way into watching this video, but RUclips seems a lot more powerful in targeting the specific group of folks I'm interested in getting in front of. Thanks for the info.
Another question (maybe I missed it): Why did you create two campaigns? You could've used one campaign with x ad groups, since the campaign settings are exactly the same for both campaigns, right?
I like have one campaign for each type of targeting being used. This will give you more control over how your budget is being spent. It's easy for one ad group to suck up all of your budget - so splitting into multiple campaigns will help with getting your ad spend more evenly distributed across your ad groups.
When it comes to investing in your channel growth, running ads is just a small part.... It's almost impossible to bring in more adsense revenue than what ads cost per view... I would suggest investing just a few dollars per day promoting content and focus more on other aspects of your content creation
If we already have 10k list of emails, does youtube ads have section for "custom audience" like FB ads where we can upload our custome audience? How about "lookalike audience" , is there any section for that too?
Organic Watch Time does not get affected by RUclips ads. I think this used to happen in the past but not anymore. You can even see your organic watch time in the analytics.
Yes it does... The two are averaged together when YT looks at the average watch time. Yes you can see both in your dashboard, but when it comes to ranking organically they are combined and that will hurt your organic reach
@@JasonAWhaling yesss! SEO Ranking gets affected... it can either hurt o help depending on the engagement of the Ad. Google is now using campaign analytics to support data in RUclips. This past year google has improved a lot their SEO ranking by understanding Ads data.
I've got a question. So both campaigns are for two different sets of ads right? So if the campaign total is 5 dollars for 3 ad groups, does that mean it'll split between the 5 dollars or eat out of my credit card 15 dollars?
The budget is at the campaign level. So you'd set the budget to $2.50 for your two campaigns for a total of $5. Your campaign budget will be divided between your ad groups
I don'r understand something. If I run ads on unlisted videos, they don't count toward the overall channel watch time. So I am not going to be able to reach 4000 hours fast? Also if I have tones of views on unlisted video this won't affect the twin listed video ranking, no help at all. The only potential benefits of running ads on unlisted video will be some potential subscribers. Am I right here?
🤔 I can't confirm that that's true as there is nothing from YT on how ad watch time affects channel approval. If your concerned about that, you can run the views to a live video, kill it's watch time average / organic reach but you would get your hours.... The benefit of the unlisted version is your original video is protected from the bad watch time the ads will bring
First off, thank you for this detailed tutorial! This is so extremely helpful!!! --Question #1 -- If you can't find an audience group that fits your target market (I teach manifestation, intuitive development, mindset, & meditation), is it then best to create an audience with interest keywords? That's what I ended up doing for my affinity group. -- Question #2 -- I'm assuming I would leave out the affinity group/interest keyword group when setting up my channel ads, right? --- Thanks for your help!
YES - you already ahead of the game there; a custom audience using keywords is a great way to go. 2) Yes - for your channel campaign only target other channels. Thanks for watching and good luck growing your channel!
If I only have one video can I run the ad on Unlisted visibility and once the ad is done running, can I change the visibility back to Public? How does that affect the analytics?
If you don't want to do the unlisted re-upload; then just have it public the whole time - there isn't an advantage to having it unlisted and then switching it later.
Hey man, thank the lord I found this video, or I’d have spent all my budget for something that isn’t gonna make my channel grow. I’m gonna restart from scratch and follow your steps. Once again thank you for this video and I hope my ad does well! 😃
Thanks for the reply, not expecting another reply but if so please answer this question, I’ve made a channel trailer, should that be a in stream ad or still a discovery ad?
If I'm trying to advertise certain videos of mine that are not at all my most popular (but still has a small bit of traction), does that mean I don't have to reupload them? Or is the reupload thing about something more than not advertising a video that's already doing well?
Thank you so much for this awesome content Jason! That's super helpful! I have created a discovery ad campaign for my channel, but it's been a day, the status still showing "under review", is this normal? How long does it usually take to get approved? Thanks a lot!
Hello Jason, Awesome video! thanks a lot for the content! Just one question: If a do an ad group with all audiences correctly labeled isn't the same as doing one ad group for each audience/placement?
No. You need them in separate ad groups so that the data isn't tangled together. You won't be able to see the audience performance clearly if they are in the same ad group.
Hi Jason ! Thanks again for the great teachings! Question: I have a channel of 2700 followers (my business ) I don't really take care of much, in French. I want to grow an English Channel to do some More Anti Pain online business.. Should I use the same French channel and divide it in 2 sections? I have another channel (under my name- of 200 followers ) I haven't fed for thee last 3 years. Should I start from scratch with a new Business English Channel or used the old one with 200 followers and transformed it into an English Channel? Thanks in advance!
Great question. If your personal channel was English based, then re-branding and moving forward with that one would be my first suggestion. If it was also in French then starting from scratch with all English content would be the way to go in my opinion. Thanks for watching and wish you the best growing your channel! 🔥
You can't get paid on views that you paid for. However the video can remain monetized while running ads, so any organic views the video gets can still be monetized.
With discovery ads, think of someone clicking on your thumbnail as a view. Pretty much as soon as someone clicks to watch the video; it will count as a view. You'll only pay once
Thanks a lot Jason! but one question after doing everything u showed my ads got disproved: unsupported language... langue is Amharic, from Ethiopia. thanks for help.
Hi Jason great video! I was just wondering, when you modify and reupload the video as unlisted, should you delete the original video from your RUclips page or leave it? Thanks for the help
Jason, extremely helpful video! Thanks so much! One question regarding the re-upload issue: Let's say I have a video which is only valid for a month (like 'New on Netflix in August) and I know that the organic reach for this specific video won't be good anyway. However, I know that it will perform well via a YT ad. I know that sounds contradictory. Anyway: If I don't care about the future organic reach of that specific video (due to low average watchtime because it's 'an ad'). Am I right, that it won't hurt my channel in general when I use this one in an ad without modifying and re-uploading? I hope you know what I mean. :) Best wishes from Germany, Mike
Found it out myself :) RUclips treats each video individually. So one video with 'crappy' average watch time, doesn't affect the whole channel (or in other words: the other videos). So, if don't care about the organic success of one video, there is probably no reason to re-upload it. :) Hopefully ;)
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks! You're so right btw when you stress NOT to use the original video in general for ads. I remember now last year when I tried build another channel and used ads: Even when I scrolled down like 10 pages on the search results, I couldn't find my video I promoted via ads. YT algorithm seems to put your videos into never ever land when the average watch time is bad.
You can still get views on the video so when it becomes public, the views will appear. According to YT the watch time is not averaged with your organic views.
Thanks Jason great stuff! Just starting to focus on my channel now, cause what else am I gonna do...Question; So I just made a video that I feel is very entertaining and informative (got lots of feedback via FB etc saying that), and I feel it can hold its own in the ad....Do I REALLY have to re-upload?
If you want it to perform organically, yes. Until you have ad data that tells you the targeting your using is getting good watch time; you risk killing the video
I just looked on there, there’s a totally new interface. And I could navigate it, but in audience, I couldn’t narrow it down in terms of keywords or interest whatsoever. It was either “as broad as possible” or people looking to buy certain products or services. Am I doing something wrong?
Not sure where your looking, but with choosing audiences, you just select the audience and that's it. There's no need to "narrow it down" using keywords
Hey, Jason, I got a good question for you maybe of topic. But by watching this video wonder if I should keep adding habilities and skills to myself so... Heres my question: Should I SPECIALIZE OR GENERIZE? I Believe we should be experts in a craft to get well paid to solve problems, but... What happens when the person whos hiring needs to solve multiple problems (perhaps not at an expert level). Let's say... a Digital Marketing Manager for a business....????????
Typically specializing is the way to go. That doesn't mean you forgo all other knowledge of your industry though. For example I specialize in RUclips ads, but if a client asked me to build a Facebook campaign I know how to do it; I just don't focus on improving it as my skill. You only have time to be a true expert in ONE area, but you have ample time to be mediocre in other areas.
@@JasonAWhaling You teach about many topics of Digital Marketing in your channel and honestly, you sound like an expert in all of them to me. So I thought, wow how does this man do it!!? I guess I'm going to keep building myself as a all-around Digital Marketing Manager with a specialty in Copywriting. BY THE WAY, CAN YOU MAKE A VIDEO ON: TOP (#) SKILLS FOR DIGITAL MARKETERS IN 2020. Thanks again.
Hey, great job. I have a question ! I saw somewhere a video that says: youtube has separated in 2020 already the watch time caluclation from the organic one - so they don't get mixed. is it true?
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks for your reply - I wonder how do you know that they are still averaging - by mannually calculating and seeing or some other way?
for promoting a Music channel, would re-uploading still make sense? I had a music video that was going nowhere (25 views but with a 2 minute average retention time)... ran google ads and got about 6-7 subscribers and 800 views so far for average of $0.01 per view (1 week in, $8.50 spent so far)... but retention on that video is down to 30 seconds.... will this affect the other videos on my channel and mess up the organic reach of my channel? or just that one video (which was under-performing, anyway). I wanted to use the video as a test for my first ad campaign, to see if the video was bad or if it just wasn't reaching enough people.... if I designate that video as unlisted now, after the fact, will it help my channel's reach or the reach of other videos on my channel? would you suggest we re-upload videos, even in these types of cases where a video isn't performing well and needs a boost? Or should we only re-upload the videos that are ALREADY doing well... i.e. when we don't want to mess up the rank in search and screw up what's already working?? thanks so much for your tutorial!
It will just affect the one video; your other videos and channel are safe. There is no advantage to changing the video to unlisted - just leave it public. If you don't care if a video dies, then by all means feel free to skip the re-upload process and just go for it like you did with your first video. Great questions and hope that helps with your music channel!
This was another good detail tutorial. I notice when you pick the channel campaign . The top right box said your targeting is to narrow. Can I pick more than one channel in the same ad group besides just one? Again awesome tutorial..👍😃
NO - One ad group = One channel... If you want multiple channels, make an ad group for each. Don't worry about the limited targeting warning; you'll find channels that work. Thanks so much for watching and good question 🙏🔥
did I miss the part where you tell us where to link the actual organic video since the unlisted modified video should not be clickable/viewable by the ad targeted audience?
Your correct you don't want to drive traffic to the original video. All the ad traffic should go to the unlisted version so that the original organic version is protected from the bad watch time
Great video, I'm creating an Ad right now to promote my stuff. One thing I'm gonna do that I was told by a friend was that under "devices" which you chose to ignore, you should make it so it doesn't display on TV Screens, which in my opinion makes sense because the layout isn't as great and it's a bit more tedious for people to subscribe to your channel, apparently he saved a lot of money this way.
awesome video, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, I have 2 questions, as I understood you, the re-loaded video, is only to make the metric of the campaign so, we'll see the view we are going to get in the unlisted video from the money we are investing, because the video is not public so the only way to see it is through the ads?, is that right? the other question is that if we invest $5 a day for a $0.05 per click, the most volumen of view we'll get in that video is 100 views right?
Yes, the only way you'd see the video is as a ad. Yup, that's how he math would work if the cost is $0.05. After a few weeks you should be able to get it much lower than that.
@@JasonAWhaling thanks so much for answering, ok, I understand the concept of that, but what will I achieve with the unlisted video, after the campaign is off, that video won't generate view, because no body will find it?
@@juandanielmarquez1962 I think the goal is to increase subscribers and views on all of your videos overall. The ads allow people to discover you and potentially view other videos you have that aren't ads. If your other videos start getting more views and they are optimized well, then youtube will push them out in search more which will also grow your channel. It becomes a snowball effect. If people like your content, they will keep coming back and be lifetime viewers.

Thanks... Good Stuff! You seem to have a well rounded way of explaining methods that are easy to understand, but also interesting enough, causing the viewer to stay engaged and continue learning more, as your video progresses... Nice Job.
Thank you 🙏... Glad it wasn't too bland and it was helpful. Good luck with your video ads🔥
Thank you for the great advices! Really helpful! 😊
Happy to help!
Hey Jason. This is awesome, thank you very much. How come I don't see all those options when I open google ads link? Do you need to have a certain amount of subscribers to advertise?
🤔Not sure. When your in Google ads you should have the same options as shown... You may need to make sure your not using an express account
Jason, I know this video is a few years old - did they get rid of the Discovery Ad group? I am not seeing it in my Google Ads
They are now called "In-Feed" ads
@@JasonAWhaling thank you!
Well set up my campaign, really excited to see how it works! The explanation was very clear and now I hope my channel will grow :-). Thanks!
Awesome to hear and crush it with your RUclips ads 🔥
So valuable! Thanks for driving home the unlisted re-upload. So helpful!
🙌
Awesome work, That was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
Great to hear! Good luck with your campaigns!
You have helped me so much! I was so confused trying to set up an ad but you made it very clear. Thank you Jason!

Good luck with your video ads!
Thanks Jason! You’re helping me today😍
😁 Happy to help! Hope this is enough to get your first few campaigns all setup and testing 🗓
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Hope all the videos helped get your campaign off the ground!
Hey can you please tell me if it is still the case for the watch duration being mixed with from the organic and ads? i heard it is separated now
As far as I've seen it is still mixed together to determine the videos average watch time
can i Target specific channel viewers through my RUclips adds?
Specific channels yes, not specific viewers of that channel. If you want to get really specific you can target certain videos
You got it! That's a great plan to move forward with 🔥🔥
Hi. Any idea what the average costs per view are on skippable and non skippable ads?
Those you'll be paying closer to 15 to 30 cents per view
@@JasonAWhaling Some say it’s 1 to 3 cents per view. Is it that high as you say?
Hi Jason, what is the average expected subscribers you should get per 100k impressions for CPV ad.?
There isn't any way to know because every channel is different. Your costs should be $0.5 or less per view using this strategy.
No reason to unlist the video - you can keep it public
In campaign, Is there an option to upload thumbnail for a content video?
You will choose your thumbnail when uploading the video to RUclips. You won't be able to change that from the Google Ads interface
Really high quality informative content, I appreciate it very much. It makes sense how your video would get rated poorly if there is low watch time on it. Does a channel have a "general watch time" rating to it? Basically is there any downside to having the ad videos with most likely poor watch time associated with your channel?
There is no 'general watch time' for a channel. RUclips is evaluating individual videos. Running ads to a video isn't going to hurt your other videos.
Thank you for this! This is exactly what we needed. First time put out the video it went crazy, then kept doing the exact same thing and didn't get the same traffic.
It be heavily dependent upon the video itself; so the first video just may have resonated with your target audience more than the second.
Thanks for posting this. It helped a ton
Crush it with your campaigns!
Are the unlisted videos placed under "video" section on our channel? Or are they just placed somewhere no one can see them but the creator?
They are placed where no one but the creator can see them.
The options are really endless; it's great! Thanks for watching
Thank you Jason...I wanted to reupload my video but it is 30minutes long. Is that ok?
It's more about changing it up than the length. As long as you keep it unlisted your good.
Hey Jason, will the video used for ads cause an issue in the future? Do I need to delete after using?
You don't have to delete them... as long as they are unlisted, you don't really have to worry about.
Thanks for sharing Sir. Where we can pay for this Champaign ADS.
Good luck with your ads!
This was great. Very well explained and in detail. Thanks a lot!
👍 Good luck with your campaigns - thank you!
I’m getting prepared to try this
You've got this!
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks, that makes sense. BTW: It's so awesome that you still answer every question!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this vlog .. i spend $200 in ads but my revnue always super less .. please suggeest me what a do i waste lot of money .. thanks
When it comes to investing in your channel growth, running ads is just a small part.... It's almost impossible to bring in more adsense revenue than what ads cost per view... I would suggest investing just a few dollars per day promoting content and focus more on other aspects of your content creation
@@JasonAWhaling THANKS ... PLEASE MAKE ONE VLOG FOR SMALL RUclipsR TO HELP GROW A ADD REVNUE ... THANKS FOR REPLY SIR

Happy to help! Good luck with your RUclips ads!
If we already have 10k list of emails, does youtube ads have section for "custom audience" like FB ads where we can upload our custome audience? How about "lookalike audience" , is there any section for that too?
You need to have a minimum spend to use that tool so you'll have a spend a LOT before that feature becomes available you 👍
Organic Watch Time does not get affected by RUclips ads. I think this used to happen in the past but not anymore. You can even see your organic watch time in the analytics.
Anyway, great content! You are very talented sir.
Jason Whaling thank you 🙏🏻
Woow nice vids
Thank you! Wish you the best with your own!
👍👍👍great video >> man why you still 70k subscribers ,,,, you should be a 10 million
It's a work in progress 😅... Thanks so much for watching and thank you for your kind words!
You helped me so much! Thank you!
Awesome! Crush it with your RUclips ads!

@@JasonAWhaling Thank you for the quick reply! You're awesome!
This is the video I need! Thank you
Awesome! Hope this gives you some ideas for promoting your channel!
Hey man, thank the lord I found this video, or I’d have spent all my budget for something that isn’t gonna make my channel grow. I’m gonna restart from scratch and follow your steps. Once again thank you for this video and I hope my ad does well! 😃
🔥🔥Good luck with testing round two! Sorry it didn't workout the first time round. Hope you find success with your next round growing your channel!
Thanks for the reply, not expecting another reply but if so please answer this question, I’ve made a channel trailer, should that be a in stream ad or still a discovery ad?
great stuff as usual man!
😁🙏Thank you!
If I'm trying to advertise certain videos of mine that are not at all my most popular (but still has a small bit of traction), does that mean I don't have to reupload them? Or is the reupload thing about something more than not advertising a video that's already doing well?
Yes! Always re-upload even if you don't think they are doing well.
Thank you so much for this awesome content Jason! That's super helpful! I have created a discovery ad campaign for my channel, but it's been a day, the status still showing "under review", is this normal? How long does it usually take to get approved? Thanks a lot!
It can take several days for a new ad to get approved. Your on the right track, way to take action 🔥🔥
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks Jason!!
Hi, can I monetize an advertised video? do I get revenue from it?
You can't get paid on views that you paid for. However the video can remain monetized while running ads, so any organic views the video gets can still be monetized.
i just have quiry when your saying the maximum your willing to pay for a view do you have to pay for the click on your add
☹ If your location targeting is your country; then I don't know why they aren't allowing it. I'm sorry I haven't experienced that before
Thanks sou much! This video was really helpful. I satarted my youtube chanel not so long ago and really wanted to promote it!
Greetings form Chile :D
Hope this helps with your promotions! Thanks for watching
So did you do $2.50 for the channel campaign and $2.50 for the affinity campaign?
Yes, $2.50 for each campaign 👍
Hi Jason great video! I was just wondering, when you modify and reupload the video as unlisted, should you delete the original video from your RUclips page or leave it? Thanks for the help
No, keep it! You are just re-uploading so you can run your ads. You want the organic video to keep working on the organic side.
@@JasonAWhaling thanks for clearing that up
Jason, extremely helpful video!
Yes - in this situation there wouldn't be any reason to use the re-upload method. So go for it with your ads. Good luck with your videos!
Nailed it 🙌
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks!
If you reupload unlisted would you still get the views and watch time on your original videos or is doing so only targeting for more subs
And one more question... RE: re-uploading; Arn't views on a video more important then watch time?
If you want it to perform organically, yes. Until you have ad data that tells you the targeting your using is getting good watch time; you risk killing the video
Watch time is way more important than the number of views in the eyes of the algo
@@JasonAWhaling Thank you !!
Thanks again.
eye opening !
Lots of possibilities 😄
Hey, great job. I have a question !
I saw somewhere a video that says: youtube has separated in 2020 already the watch time caluclation from the organic one - so they don't get mixed. is it true?
They still show it averaged in the creator studio and we still see the ad watch time hurting organic videos
@@JasonAWhaling thank you
@@JasonAWhaling Thanks for your reply - I wonder how do you know that they are still averaging - by mannually calculating and seeing or some other way?
You might just be the realest person on RUclips
😅 Thanks..... Wish you the best in getting your channel off the ground!
@@JasonAWhaling thanks
Question? Should I monetize the unlisted Ad video?
No - just leave it off as long as it's an ad
@@JasonAWhaling thanks
for promoting a Music channel, would re-uploading still make sense?
@@JasonAWhaling thank you so much for your quick reply. this helps me so much. you are awesome!!
do you offer consulting services?
We plan on re-opening our RUclips Ads management in the coming month 👍
This was another good detail tutorial. I notice when you pick the channel campaign . The top right box said your targeting is to narrow. Can I pick more than one channel in the same ad group besides just one? Again awesome tutorial..👍😃
NO - One ad group = One channel... If you want multiple channels, make an ad group for each. Don't worry about the limited targeting warning; you'll find channels that work. Thanks so much for watching and good question 🙏🔥
Really enjoying the video - thankyou. Can you tell me what software you use to edit your videos?
Thank you! We are using Adobe Premiere
did I miss the part where you tell us where to link the actual organic video since the unlisted modified video should not be clickable/viewable by the ad targeted audience?
or are we simply trying to get more subscribers and not drive views to the original non-modified video? thanks
Interesting, well it never hurts to test and see!
awesome video, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, I have 2 questions, as I understood you, the re-loaded video, is only to make the metric of the campaign so, we'll see the view we are going to get in the unlisted video from the money we are investing, because the video is not public so the only way to see it is through the ads?, is that right? the other question is that if we invest $5 a day for a $0.05 per click, the most volumen of view we'll get in that video is 100 views right?
