For BRICS is an asset just like crypto , it will be there , just for anyone who wanna use it to use it... it's something similar to how BTC started
With Saudi Arabia and the UAE joining BRICS, the move would be to trade OIL using the BRICS currency and not the Dollar.
With the Dollar taken off the gold standard and being the world's reserve currency, what has actually given it value is the world buying OIL using the Dollar making it the Petro-Dollar.
I actually think this is why USA is pushing for renewable energy to power their cars and other equipment as well as trying to bully the rest of us into ditching OIL with the whole global warming shenanigans. #Geopolitics
Really enjoyed this conversation! There is so much I want to say on this topic but I'll leave it to three points.
1) We have to improve the quality of our education. Kids in Asia are tech savvy from back to front. In India they code software and in China they build their own cellphones.
2) We need to understand how the economy works. You have traders using fundamental news but can they even explain what FOMC and CPI mean? And I'm not taking about the abbreviations... Never mind the fact that news is priced in 2 days prior due to clearing houses using CLS.
3) The prosperity of South Africa will depend on the government. However, the way the average SA citizen understands politics is pathetic which is why we are constantly dribbled. We are led by colour and emotion that reasoning barely enters the chat. I've found Rutendo's episodes on The Black Pen absolutely enlightening.

None of the Brics countries really trust each other. In the short term a Brics currency won't go anywhere.
