Thanks mate, good breakdown of how this can be used. I think it is a great tool, and the fact that you can sample/ use anything to make into a beat saves so much time for an artist. A great little toy to play with. 😊
I have watched tons of your videos and this was probably one of the most helpful for me. Your communication and expression of how and why has really developed. You have become such a great creator and I find you very inspiring.
Your videos got me to start playing with resampling and manipulating audio in the DAW and it's had such a big impact on how I think about producing music. I used to seek out plugins like Life thinking they would help me get the results I wanted when what I really needed was to spend the time just playing with sounds and exploring. It feels like Life is just doing the fun parts for you.
I was in that boat too. This is definitely not something I need and would prefer to work in audio but I guess this is a nice quick loop alternative to try something different once in a while
I really like Life. I bought it pretty much instantly after i saw it, that was a short while after release. I personally really struggle with "top loops" - or general percussion stuff. I'm at a stage with my music where i can create the foundation pretty well - like Kick, Bass, Instruments, etc. Basic HiHats too, of course. Because when i listen to music, i focus on Kick, Bass, Melody (/Chords) and Texture - not really on the "background" / "support" elements i think percs are for my genres. But the like "advanced" perc stuff, i just really never know what to do there... Because it of course needs to be there, but is never so important that i have clear idea in my head for what i want it to sound like. And for that it's perfect. It creates a huge varitey of different rhythms that i can use just like they are or use them as a guideline to re-create with my own samples... It's great.
That’s awesome! It’s about what tool gets the job done. Percs are usually the core of my ideas so I’m personally looking for something that can help me dive even deeper if that makes sense
What I learned by using Life is, that rhythm, groove and the arrangement of the percussive elements is very powerful. But it is just 50% The other 50% are the sonic character of the sampled sounds. As cool as the ping-pong-ball sounds on its own, it just don't fit everywhere.
I’d say context is king. You’re right. That sound doesn’t fit in everything, but if you make a tune surrounding the ping pong you can definitely make it into something interesting.
You mentioned it in the video but it does depend on the type of music you make. Those type of plug ins are more of time savers for pop, hip hop, EDM and other less experimental type of music.
Yeah definitely! Thats why I mentioned that it’s not a bad plug in but I could see them doing so much more with it. But, having walked that path, no I couldn’t say it’s a game changer
Just because it doesn’t work for you doesn’t make it wrong. Maybe try being more flexible with your material? You can make something out of anything if you know what you’re doing
So many RUclips videos have "game changer" in the title. It's no surprise at all to me that this product is not in fact a game changer, I haven't seen one ever that is. Gave up on them a while ago, every one previously being a waste of my time. "I was shocked" is another. Both of these are used to get clicks / views. Click bait innit.
@@Alckemy who’s upset? 😂 You just sound ungrateful, especially to compare this plugin to the DAW itself. Errrrrr 🥴… Thiiiith sampler is not as good as my DAWs audio manipulation abilities. Why compair a DAW to a sampler, not even a fair comparison. 🤦♂️
@@DjMrGrimM it sounds like you’re not good with critical thinking videos since you can’t tell the difference between complaining and discussion over pros and cons. I don’t see you mentioning that I talked about how I would use this in my production, either. Or, you didn’t watch the video and are upset I didn’t agree with most content creators. It’s ok, music production is hard. Say something helpful next time and maybe you might make a friend and god forbid learn something.

Thanks for watching! As annoyed as I am for its imperfections it’s actually the tool I use the most to start making drums
