    I love dr martens. I’m a senior and I’ve worn the same marten boots since 8th grade. And I love wearing them just as much as when I got them. Worth every dollar in my opinion.

    The boot at the end look like galas good job bro I just did that to my working boots didn’t get the same results but I didn’t use any of this products. • @TheGlassToe
      @TheGlassToe  2 года назад

      Thank you so much !! Working boots need the most care. I know it sucks to spend time cleaning them only for them to look trashed the next day, but be sure to care for them. You don't have to go to this extent at all but a brushing and conditioning now and then will do wounders.

    • @TheGlassToe
      @TheGlassToe  9 месяцев назад +1

      Some things are meant to be maintained and quality boots are definitely one of them ! Not only are you respecting the animal by making sure you don't just toss the boots away at the slightest sight of wear BUT you are doing what was intended by makers of quality good. Long lasting sustainability by repairing and not replacing. Plus, Nothing beats a well worn boot !

    • @itstoomuchhere5543

      Hi, I just wanted to help save you from over using the techniques shown in the video. Specifically, do not sand down your leather products unless they are severely damaged. This process removes a lot of the leather. If you sand everytime you clean, you could sand through the leather in less than a year.

    • @TheGlassToe
      @TheGlassToe  2 года назад +4

      @@itstoomuchhere5543 I'd recommend really only ever sanding once to correct damage. If you are constantly damaging your boots/shoes ( like with work boots ) leave as is. I don't do dage repair on work boots for this reason. Only worn boots that want to be restored and will only see accidental damage.

  • @andrewmcgee3892
    @andrewmcgee3892 3 года назад +2

    Is sanding something that’s common to leather-working?

    • @TheGlassToe
      @TheGlassToe  3 года назад +2

      Yes. You have to use caution when doing so and do so only when appropriate.

      The creases would probably fade if the owner keeps shoe trees in them after every wear, that helps them last longer especially if they use dubbin and polish regularly. 😊

      This was obviously not a resole video, but a leather restoration video. It is very hard to resole docs to their original soles, only a few places in the UK do it. The people resoling docs on RUclips are using different soles, and basically rebuilding the welt, which is a complicated process unless you have the right equipment and knowledge.
