The “bucking” or the “lurching” is the Korean transmission that they now use. Before they used Toyota’s Aisin 6 speed for FWD and ZF 9 speed for AWD, but starting 2023 they changed it to Hyundai’s 8 speed that have been having tons of problems and complete failures in Hyundai/kia vehicles. So it won’t surprise me if a Mexican built car with an Italian engine and Korean transmission were to fail.
Ya it has issues in vehicles that have way more power and torque. There was a video I saw 2 years ago when I was still working at Chrysler, that showed the durability test on this transmission and engine combo and the transmission was surprisingly reliable for this application. The bucking and lurching is due to improper transmission tuning. Chrysler is supposed to be coming out with a update to fix this issue
I was going to say $25k for this is insane, but since watching this after stellantis CEO semi-addressed their pricing issue, the compass now for 2024 start at $25,900. So you actually were right.
They are now in the forty thousand range. At least they are at my local dealer. I looked at one that was forty- two thousand. Renegades are in the thirty thousand range now.
@aaronward2221 Yes, the well is deep enough. However, the floor cover needs to be raised to the taller level setting, which I prefer anyway because it makes the floor level parallel to the fold-down rear seats for cargo and camping purposes. I also had to order a full-size spare tire carrier bolt from the Trailhawk model to properly secure the tire.
I know my wife's Hyundai Elantra did not have a spare and once I was losing air from the rear tire and I made a mad dash to a local tire shop. Went online and bought a spare tire kit. Donut, tire wrench and jack. Learned my lesson to look before I buy from now on.

😂
Great video! any chance you can also add the Renegade to the list? hehe
Thanks!!! I’ll do my best!
Looks like the Mitsubishi outlander sport platform.
Jeep Compass stopped using that platform in 2017 when they switched to the 2nd gen
@brandonruhl1639 no it's the same platform. They just put modern tech on the car. Same dimensions.
@@jermichaelkirkland2446 you know google is free to use. All you have to do is look it up and you’ll see it’s not the same platform

and off road?
I wish the cluster display was lit at night! lol
No spare tire would be a deal breaker...sorry...nice otherwise.
Depends on which one you get as mine has a spare tire
I drive a 2020 Compass Sport, and I bought a full-size matching wheel + spare tire to replace the fixa-flat kit when I purchased it brand new.
@@georgefoley9793were you able to fit the full size spare in the well?

Hey man if you’re ever interested in selling your Crown Victoria, I’ll come buy it tomorrow! Let me know
Will do! I’m actually considering it.
@@PaulsPlace how much do you think you’d ask for it?
@@joeschmo5988 I'm not entirely sure yet. I asked reddit and they seem to say around 10-13k or so.
