    Nice to hear Phyllis Hunt was mentioned. PCBH often mentions old characters, some of whom have not been in it for a long time, unlike many modern soaps.

    It just occurred to me why these past couple dozen episodes are so "dry". These episodes feel more like a regular soap opera. Older episodes with Bea, Lizzie, Frankie, Judy and even Myra felt more like a prison story.

    • @djdelight_musik7181
      @djdelight_musik7181 9 лет назад +4

      +Cathy Faruque I was saying this about the last 10-15 episodes. There seems to be more stories about "relationships" ie barry and pringle, the freak and terri, pippa and ben and less about what goes on in the prison! I think it's because the 'barnhust 5' are so non-descript and boring. Atm there is only kelly who is classed as a troublemaker, before we had a few ie reb, kelly ,alice,frances and the freak . I thought eve was going to shake things up a bit, but hasn't so far. They need to get someone like angel ,kate peterson or bev baker back in imo .

      To me what's happened now is instead of the story's being about the prison and the characters in the prison we're getting off into a lot of social commentary-- PMS electric shock-- it's all social commentary now .granted these were important topics in the mid-80s, but I think it also took away from the storylines where we cared about the characters.

    I really like Nora. I love the fact that like Myra, she genuinely cares about the women. But unfortunately she's still better suited as support for a Top Dog rather than being the defacto Top Dog herself. Still - there's no one else really up for being a decent Top Dog so Nora is it for the moment. I do feel sorry for her with this situation with her mother. Pretty obvious what's going on there. Have to say I'm liking Reb this time around. The continuity is a mess. The concept of time with Joyce and Mervin's relationship in particular. Joyce couldn't have children, so we were told quite a few times. Now she has a son - and a total jackass to boot? I'm so done with Lexi and her arrogrance and shouting.

The boyfriend was a suspect from the beginning but it was when she was found that the police found out where she was murded. In her bed! And they found a lot of blood in the bed. They didn´t look for it before she was found, even that the theory was that the boyfriend was the murderer and that she was murded at home. This was less then five years ago, I think.

    It would be nice if everyone would stop "falling in love" within 2 episodes. Once or twice fine, though its every single lovey storyline...Too repetitive. Marie Trevor must not have watched any episodes prior, nor did the actors speak up about the fact Joyce could never have kids and never adopted only less than 100 episodes ago. Even when it was viewed on Tv I'm sure people didn't forget that quick!
