Well, this just confirmed me that I am on the right track with my scalping strategy. I am doing this for few months already scalping with limit orders and scaling in. But I would not recommend it to anybody because it can be quite frustrating at times and the worst mistake is to go in too big too early or not adjusting the entries based on actual volatility. And also surprises may happen like Russia invading Ukraine when you may get easily wrecked by big move after which the price comes back but you were stopped out or even margin called like me this monday. But thank God I made all losses back an even more afterwards sticking to the strategy.
@@bobconnor2950 I am trading S&P500 for one point and FTSE for 2 points. And I start scaling in with minimal position possible but sometimes I need to add up to 60x the size. But my average stop remains around 12-16 points. It has pretty bad risk reward but I am able to have really high 95%+ probability.
@@LennieClausen_dk I know because of that I do not recommend it to anybody but I can at least testify that Al Brooks is right when he says that it is possible to make money any direction in any market conditions if you manage your trades correctly. For example I was scalping short almost all the time during Thursday and Friday and made dozens of percents of profits doing that. But any swing attempts would have failed.
I think I can look at this chart (26:49) and traded it differently but Al Brooks style as well. Because this type of scalping doesn't suit my personality. I would like some day to be able to trade like that. He says to look for patterns inside Trading Ranges. I see a bull channel/wedge being broken and then a retest of the trendline (lower) and maybe open a short there with the target being the area of the low of the day. In TR and I think with all price action, normally the price doesn't hit perfectly the price that we want. Its a level. I like to draw rectangles and I know when the price reaches those zones its time to close the trade. I think I would add to the position when the small consolidation area definitely broke down. I still have a lot to learn.
Just learned a lesson.. Was trading Bitcoin today, a huge trend and I tried to scalp it, i got out and never got back in. Ouch..... Thanks for your lessons
Thanks Tom, very good of you to put this on. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and trading style. Its a bit like watching a top sports star play. And. like them you are not frightened to show your skills and go about your job in front of a live audience win or lose just like they do. I could not afford to pay you but, if you are considering sponsorship with a broking firm to cover your production costs I think you should do that. It is no different to a shirt sponsor of a football team. They all have them but it does not mean that every supporter will go out and buy the advertised product. They can make up their own minds in that regard. They may or may not be better or worse than any traders particular broker at any point in time. A trial on a demo account will soon show how their spreads perform. If they are no good they will soon get the message. If they are good everybody wins. I would not specifically recommend them as a live broker just advise a trial of their demo. Thanks again for all your input. I find it very instructive to watch you trade on your channel. As the saying goes there is always someone willing to take the opposite trade. My win loss is about 30%, yours recently was 70% so I am able to see what the opposite of my trading style is. I have often said to myself if you did the opposite of what do you would be very wealthy but this concept was a little bit to indefinite to put into practise. But, having watched you trade I now have more knowledge of the means of doing that and it has helped me immensely. I really have to work on reprogramming my mind especially when I find myself reverting back to my old ways. Its a bit like reprogramming the golf swing. An excellent channel by biomechanics expert Dr Kwon who teaches a body swing pattern using ground forces and a kettle bell and rope training aids at Texas University. His approach is opposed to the traditional position golf approach so it really is a reprogramming exercise. As I know you like golf. Nothing wrong with merchandising; probably preferable to the implications of sponsorship. I like the shark remark also. 28:40 how does he know bears aren't making profits? Does he mean the trades are bad r/r so even if they are scalping out the traders equation is bad? At the lines he's marked, sometimes the bars don't come back to test so the bears clearly lost, but other times they went dipped lower so maybe they took some profit? Maybe I'm overthinking it
