The Tohoku area would have been much more wealthy had Japan not annexed Korea so it’s not a good ending for most parts of Japan either.
@Safwaan a lot of government investment went to the Korean Peninsula where it would otherwise have gone to the Tohoku area. The cheap agricultural goods from Korea competed with the goods from Tohoku as well. Tohoku still remains relatively poor compared to other regions.
A uno reverse card ending would be a Josen Kingdom annexing Japan by industrialising first 600 years early, before the Europeans.
2:46 Really fascinates me as a scenario. It's cool watching movies like Blade Runner, Back to the Future etc from that Era where people were actually somewhat convinced this could happen

I like how in the Ultimate Good Ending, Bhutan is in the sphere and Thailand controls the Malay peninsula, those are the small details i like

Colonial Ending: Like in China, colonial powers arrive in Japan, draining its treasury and resources, eventually the island gets divided, and never returns to its unification until the late 20th century. (Also, an alternate bad ending)
One critique: Hideyoshi couldn't declare himself Shogun as he didn't have a claim to the title due to him being a commoner. He instead took the title of "Daijo Daijin" (Chancellor of the Realm), as that was really the best he could get.
However, he still easily commanded the authority of all the Daimyo in his court, especially the remainder of Nobunaga's old generals like Ieyasu or Mitsunari.
Also, I had a fight-or-flight response upon seeing the Aum Shinrikyo ending.

Japan's anime culture had spreaded throughout all of the nations in the world, even China and the Koreas. Anime had become very loved, even surpassing religions in terms of followers. Japan essentially had created the 2nd co-prosperity sphere

Japanese culture is never compromised and without the impetuousness to try to conquer the world that Japan showed in our timeline, it is never punished by the allies, or in the case of an axis victory vulnerable to an attack by Germany. Remember. Uneasy lies the head which wears the crown and the ruling nation is usually pretty well hated as Rome was, as Britain was and as the USA is. I love Japan and its culture and it should be respected but Careful what you wish for.
@@tarasradetsky9242Japan began modernising in the 1890s under the emperor Mejii due to the forced opening of the country by the American Commodore Perry as Mejii realised that he was vulnerable to other nations. Japan beat Tsarist Russia in 1905 and by the 1920s and 30s the industrialisation was at its height. Unfortunately this led to a loss of the old ways and Japanese defeat. Modernisation is bad for any country. The only reason to modernise is if a foreign power forces you to and even then you should fight.

Alternative Good Ending: With the allies with winning WW3, Japan fulling annex’s the Kuril and Sakhalin islands.
Absolutist ending: after success of Kodoha's coup all fascists were imprisoned and Japan began preparing invation to Soviet Union.
Unthinkable ending: although Japan won at Russo-Japanese war, economic crisis crashed country's economy so working class began striking and established sotialist regime.
Mladojapanese ending: despite sotialist came to power, emperor kept his power and began ruling with Soviets.
Another ultimate bad ending: Russia won at war with Japan and established protectorate on all Japanese islands.
Ains ending: during Sengoku, Ains united Japan under their rule and made Ains empire.
Cyberpunk ending: new corporation "Arasaka" became monopolist in all directions and came to power in Japan and USA.
I have seen the "All Endings: Japan" videos in Japanese and English, and this one is the most interesting and exciting of them all! I never thought I would see such a geeky word as "TATENOKAI" in this video
There is technically a "Shogun" ending but not the one imagined.

Two ideas for endings:
Finalaska ending:
Operation Alaska is set into action, and during the winter war the finnish people are all evacuated into Alaska. With the old homeland being abandoned to the soviets, the finns now have a new one... (This was an actual plan, no really it was)
Ultimate good ending:
Right after ww1 Finland conquers all of Kola and East Karelia establishing Greater Finland. Then Finland proceeds to completely avoid wars, keeping all of its land intact!
The Soviets creating an Ainu state is a really neat detail.
I doubt that would happen.

Anime Ending: Japan has become the dominant culture on the planet. We are all weebs.
Corporatocracy Ending: The Zaibatsus continued to accumulate influence in the later 20th Century until finally gaining enough power that they became the de facto government of Japan, although the Diet was still the de jure government due to the Japanese' aversion to rocking the boat too much. The new state is seen as a grand experiment as various parties around the world with similar ideas of their own watch with great interest to see if it will last.
Alternate Bad Ending: The Meiji Reformation never occurred, leading to Japan's further stagnation until they were finally reduced to clients of the great powers, like China before them.
Sengoku Ending: Oda Nobunaga never succeeded in unifying Japan. The islands remained a divided collection of feudal states until the 19th Century, when a new wave of nationalism and fears of ending up like China led to efforts to finally unify Japan at long last.

Hidden American Ending: General Douglas MacArthur, as commander of the occupation forces, proved to be so popular among the Japanese people that they offered to grant him the title of Shogun, effectively making him a dictator for life. In the interests of ensuring Japan remained in America's sphere of influence as tensions with the Soviets increased, MacArthur accepted the appointment with permission from Congress and President Truman in 1949. Japan remained a nominally independent protectorate of the United States going into the 21st Century.
