I did learn that mine is fully electrical, never had oil. Mine is from after the 60s or 70s. And I may rewire it one day, when I'm feeling skilled enough. 🙂
Thanks for watching! Yes, there are newer examples of GWTW lamps that have always been fully electrified. Including art glass examples from Fenton and many others.
Beautiful lamp - yes, the wiring sure was a scary sight! I'm sure you will be happy when you're done with it and can use it as intended without risk. LOVE the friendly 'hello' from the cattle on the hill. The combination of country and suburban area is the best of both worlds ❤
Thank you! I didn't even attempt to plug that one in! 😂. We live in an interesting area, for sure... birds, cows, wind, wacky weather... never a dull moment! 😂
I'm all about preserving as much as I can. And, things that we throw away today will be the antiques of tomorrow, I'm sure! Seems everything eventually comes full circle! 😊
It’s an LED nightlight bulb - not sure of the wattage (but very low). However, this is a cool white color. I had intended for it to be warm white, but the package was incorrectly labeled.

Beautiful lamp 🪔
Thank you! I hope to have it in working order in a few weeks when I find all the parts I need. 😊
My mother used to have one of those lamps. She probably threw it away. She had no appreciation for antiques.
