You can find maamoul in Lebanese sweet shops and some of them make it all year long and can also offer some other regional variety of maamoul or even their own take on maamoul

Emily: It is nice to see you again in another fantastic video from Lebanon. I remember being there one time in January, and the weather was very good: Sunny and crisp. I assume you were there around the same time, despite the rain. At any rate, I enjoyed watching walk the streets of Der Al-Amar -- an area that I am not familiar with. I have not actually visited that part of Lebanon, so it was nice seeing yet another town in that country. I also smiled when I saw the cars honking their horns at 20:00. This tradition is fairly common in that part of the world. It is a way to celebrate/ declare that the marriage is finally official. I have seen that many times while I was there, so it brought some good memories. Anyway, this is all for now. I hope you guys are doing well, and I look forward to watching your next video! @Boogie boogie I appreciate the greetings, and I send some back to you! Calling Syria and Lebanon Phoenician is valid. Ancient Phoenicia was established 2500 BC -- way before the first wave of immigration of Arab tribes from the Arabian Peninsula to the Levant in the 7th century. While both Syria and Lebanon are Arabic-speaking counties today, they still comprise a hodgepodge of various cultural groups -- including Phoenicians, Assyrians, Kurds AND Arabs. So being an Arab is a component of the larger collage of various cultural and ethnic groups. I hope this clarifies, and I send you my respect from Boston, Massachusetts.

A little tip for people picking up or dropping off friends and family to the Rafic Hariri international airport on a rainy day is to just use the underground parking instead of the usual top floor parking. The entrance of which is just on the left of the parking. Because that way you not only don’t park in the rain, but also you’ll get access to the tunnel that takes you directly into the terminal. I have to tell you I lived in Dair al Qamar when i was a kid back in the early 90's. It's amazing place. People mostly hawnk cause they think you want to ride somewhere even they hawnk anyone even Local people too. Yeah Lebanon will never be an unsafe place for me, I think western countries such as USA and Australia can be more dangerous. Also I would suggest you meet Lebanese friends and they can show you around instead of being alone, unless you want to. Also I love how you went to this town not many tourists go there and you went during a quiet time looks so peaceful. Live Love Lebanon forever.
Just so you know, higher end smartphones support a feature called "On-the-go" which permits you to use an external flash drive (thumb drive) for extra storage. You will need a special cable for either standard micro-usb or usb type-c to connect the thumb drive to the phone. These on-the-go cables are available at Amazon and eBay. Check the specifications of your phone to see if it's supported.
I enjoyed your videos (maybe I watched 8 of them), I like Douma, Batroun then Tripoli, Jbeil, Baalbak, and Barouk not bad. Beirut is less than the average. I enjoyed how people react to you both. I regret that I didn't do like you or the others when I was in Russia or France. For video editing I am using PowerDirector, what are you using as software? Go ahead
I think your driving skills have improved after your visit and maybe you can drive F1 now....:). It is for sure not usual for a woman to walk alone in the rain. Drivers were just wondering if you are lost or needed assistance or a taxi. In these town, everybody knows everybody and winter visitors are not very common....The room price will go X 4 during the summer when it is season...Thanks for sharing this beautiful hotel, I will try it one day for sure
I enjoyed your blog, watched all the videos from Lebanon, here are so questions if I may … 1- I read your blog”s name as 20 camels is that right? 2- I wish you talked about the process of traveling to Lebanon, do you need a visa? how long you are allowed to stay on an entry visa , how much you pay to enter, how much us $$$$ you are allowed to bring in to the country with you 3- where did you stay ? how much it cost a night? 4- if you stay in an airbandb how much a night? 5- how much does it cost to eat at a restaurant, local ones or high end ones 6- did you feel safe as an American citizen? 7- can you use ATM machine to get $$$ or Lebanese lira at official rates ? 8- did you find gas for the rental car easy 9- was the power out at any time when you where there Have a safe travels you and your husband --again thanks for the inside to a different culture
If you're from any North American, European, most Asian, and simply most "1st or 2nd" world country, you don't need a Visa, you just show up and you're given a 6 month visitor stay which you can later renew again and again. Can't tell you exactly what everything costs, but with the current HyperInflation happening in the country, I can tell you if you're coming from any other country, things will be UBER cheap for you! See that vid where Emily and Valentine restock their entire fridge with veggies for about 1US$. I believe they're up to 1$ = 20 000 Lebanese pounds. Of course you can use ATMs, most global cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex etc..) are accepted everywhere. Rest of the questions I feel are more personal and Em will have to explain how she felt herself 🙂 Hope this helps, God bless and have a good one! 👌👍
When I visited jordan 7 years ago they only gave me 2 weeks stay and told me to go to any police station and you can extended it up to 90 days , that is why I was asking if Lebanon has the same requirement for visa
Thanks a lot for sharing! Info: The "Maamoul" comes in 3 main flavors, You were eating the "dates" flavor, mashed dates, this is my best. Question: Who is the Russian and who is the American among You two? I thought You were the Russian but then we have learned that Valentine is visiting his family in Russia......pffff I'm confused
Hey, thanks for watching Elias! Thanks for solving the Maamoul flavor mystery 😄🙏🏼 Answer: I am the American & Valentine is the Russian. His name pronounced in Russian is like "Valentín". He was born in Russia but raised outside which is why he doesn't really have the typical Russian accent.
You should go with Valentine to a restaurant called New Garbatella in Baakline, near Deir el Qamar. Its a very romantic restaurant, especially in the winter, near the cheminée (chimney fire). Also, would love to meet you and Valentine when i visit Lebanon in December :)

Hey. Loving your videos. Keep it going!! And I'm from Lebanon, so I'm also enjoying your videos. I'm not so far from your place.
I am happy that you enjoy Lebanon and it’s hospitable people . Enjoy and spread the word around to your friends and colleagues about your experiences in Lebanon 🇱🇧 it is a beautiful country 🇱🇧🇱🇧🇱🇧
beautiful views and houses, really
interesting to have an hindsight of material daily problems of vloggers. btw congrats for your practise of arabic (I don't have any and am impressed)
how is your lebanese arabic pronunciation so perfect and cute? you sounded just like them in the few arabic words you said.
Nice video I have been outside Lebanon 12 years now thk you for this video do you still have some maamoul
Note -- you may see if referenced in some specifications as the abbreviation "OTG". So search for that too.
You could have found Maamoul in the Druze towns for sure :)
You can get maamoul from anywhere
My favorite video 😁 such an awesome trip
luvly Vid , Keep up the good share :)
That maamoul was stuffed with dates. Other varieties are filled with chopped walnuts or with pistachios.
I enjoyed your blog, watched all the videos from Lebanon, here are so questions if I may …
1- I read your blog”s name as 20 camels is that right?
2- I wish you talked about the process of traveling to Lebanon, do you need a visa? how long you are allowed to stay on an entry visa , how much you pay to enter, how much us $$$$ you are allowed to bring in to the country with you
3- where did you stay ? how much it cost a night?
4- if you stay in an airbandb how much a night?
5- how much does it cost to eat at a restaurant, local ones or high end ones
6- did you feel safe as an American citizen?
7- can you use ATM machine to get $$$ or Lebanese lira at official rates ?
8- did you find gas for the rental car easy
9- was the power out at any time when you where there
Have a safe travels you and your husband --again thanks for the inside to a different culture
Rest of the questions I feel are more personal and Em will have to explain how she felt herself 🙂
Hope this helps, God bless and have a good one! 👌👍
Thank you brave heart, that was very helpful info,
When I visited jordan 7 years ago they only gave me 2 weeks stay and told me to go to any police station and you can extended it up to 90 days , that is why I was asking if Lebanon has the same requirement for visa
Great vlog
😁🤓
Thank you 😁
I haven't been to Lebanon since 1983, I was 9yrs old when I left for the U.S, Thinking of visiting any advice?
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Info: The "Maamoul" comes in 3 main flavors, You were eating the "dates" flavor, mashed dates, this is my best.
Question: Who is the Russian and who is the American among You two? I thought You were the Russian but then we have learned that Valentine is visiting his family in Russia......pffff I'm confused
Hey, thanks for watching Elias!
Thanks for solving the Maamoul flavor mystery 😄🙏🏼
Answer: I am the American & Valentine is the Russian.
These are Dates inside the Maamoul. It's amazing
Very beautiful landscapes Your follower from Saudi Arabia🇸🇦
It's nice to see the amazing culture of lebanon♥️.
