    My little girly is 5. She's decided to start getting into my makeup and put it on her face 😂 this is so exciting to me because its what children do. She's mimicking me and im so happy about it. We have to just celebrate and love all the little moments. These kids are so unique and fun! We are lucky to be moms to these amazing kiddos. ❤

    I call myself a type 1 diabetes mom and an autism mom also . I have my oldest daughter with type 1 and my 5 yr old has level 3 non verbal. In fact having kids with both the type 1 is way scarier and xomstant stress since my oldest is a picky eater. She changed after her type 1 diagnosis. Both can be alot . But I am thankful for both my children 🙏 ❤

    In connection with the tip about independence some examples of things not to say are “Act Normal!”, “Stop acting like a baby (or infant)!”, “Don’t be such a baby!”, and “Act like a human!”. I could add some other ones to this list but these are some of the ones that I have heard the most.
    I have been on the receiving end of of some of these (and variations of them) off and on over the years and I have seen some people make these same types of comments to other people who are on the spectrum.

    Bill Engvall has some pretty good stand up comedy and most of it is clean and pretty family friendly.
    I found his RUclips channel last year when I had an eight millimeter kidney stone and watching his channel made things easier for me in the roughly two months that I waited for the stone to pass. I was able to relate to about half to three quarters of his routine about the kidney stone (fortunately not including the pulling the stent one) that he had. In my case the stone was able to pass on its own without any procedures.

    Thank you so much!! For this , I do wish my mother had stumbled across you guys while I was growing, I think things would have been significantly different and better for the both of us had she done so.
    Also the not comparing things! We know when people are doing it to we aren't stupid just tend to communicate in different ways ...the amount of times I remember adults talking around me about how someone else's child did something first , or how I couldn't do this and I was weird or rude to strangers ect like I heard it all and it didn't make me feel good at all...because it's not like I wasn't trying to communicate or meant to be rude by not talking when I was meant to or not hugging someone or shaking hands or whatever but it hurt... especially when a kid did something and my mum went see why dont you do that or , why cant you be more like so and so ect

      First of all, a big hug from all of us here at 7-Ahead. So sorry that people have been so mean. That is extremely difficult to deal with. Honestly, the thing that has got us through our tough times has always been our faith and belief in God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Happy to share more about that if you’d like, another book, I actually just listened to was this one here, and it’s a pretty good one as well. Ultimately you are a child of God with limitless potential, no matter what anyone else may say or think. Build your relationship with God, and he will guide you to overcome all obstacles that get thrown your way. I am right there with Ezra love nature. I am home too much little things can get into a full meltdown. Stores and the environment tends to gets sensory overload where I get gassy and bloating.
    Watch their siblings I really feel siblings get their autistic sibling sometimes more than the parents. We had cousins night my mom was so worried my brother would get lost in the crowd. We had a great time with him and he could just be himself. I see it in Marie just being there to guide as just one of the cousins and nothing else.
    My brother is flying to visit me in Florida alone excited he has a great sense of direction and he's getting help with airport staff but he's getting independence

    • @7Aheadfamily
      @7Aheadfamily  5 месяцев назад +1

      Good question. An autistic person would be able to answer this question better than me. And thank you for letting me know about the link; we'll go and see what's wrong. I would say, as a parent, encourage him to be himself, but it's ultimately up to him whether or not he chooses to mask in public. Try to make home a safe place where he doesn't feel like he needs to mask. Don't point out when he is engaging in autistic behavior or stimming, don't shame him.... Perhaps you already do all of these things. I would ask someone who is autistic, this question. Does anyone on this channel who is seeing this want to answer?

    I know I've said this before but there's a high probability that I'm autistic on the mild end ( similar to your son Simon ) who has ASD level 1 . The social environment in my high school in west Tennessee is very toxic mainly 99.9% of students in all grade levels are downright menaces and negative demonic energy . Majority of the teachers about 75% are just as rude as the students draining my sanity & mental health very easily causing me to have alot of sensory overloads / meltdowns making me question my life . The huge amount of profanity , derogatory remarks , disrespect , fighting , violence that goes on is crazy . What is your honest advice for my situation ?
