Ox, I love your work, but you really need a London local to explain a lot of the jokes/nods/bits of British culture you missed. For example, Protect and Survive was a booklet to help people in the UK prepare for nuclear war, and the jingle you heard when Smythe was talking was from that. The red cone you were baffled by is a one person air raid shelter from WW2, there's a tonne of detail that you could marvel at if you had a local guide!

Back in the lab, ya missed something. In the room you found the milk, sugar, and tea tin, there's a terminal in the back that lists all the supporters, as well as a custom t-shirt and slacks outfit with the GOG logo on it, something the dev team did as what I assume is a thank-you to the GOG team for hosting the London mod. As for the "Bostonian" textures and things (like the Bobrov moonshine) are definitely a file-conflict on your end, Ox. You *_NEED_* to make sure that the cloud-save function of the base-game is turned off, but the cloud-save for London is left on. That should fix the texture conflicts. Also, do NOT waste the tickets on the turnstiles without looking for a way around/over first! The tickets are London's currency! Bottlecaps are junk items here! As for the "jimmy hats"... in my own playthrough I laughed myself into an asthmatic-style hyperventilation spell when I realized what they were. And I don't _have_ asthma!
Others said the skin conflict will fix if he removes the steam FO4 high resolution texture pack he had on. Do you think it could be that? I don’t know technical stuff. I just repeat what I read.

Prolly Oxhorn didn't want to show the terminal thanking us or the GOG shirt since it's a bit meta and outside of game lore. It was great of them to put that right in the beginning. Also I was so hype when I realised tickets were currency, look just like the real ones too!
I watched the first couple of hours of ESO's play through. He is a Londoner and says the locations of everywhere he has been so far, is pretty accurate!
Same. I actually saw the Livestream first, which was after the recorded first part. But, I went back and watched it afterward, as well. Good stuff! Sad Danny is moving country and will be offline awhile at such a pivotal time.
Please continue, and in this format. Incidentally, the "Have you seen this chicken?" poster is a shout-out to "Wallace and Gromit", a much-loved British stop-animation show--specifically, the episode "The Wrong Trousers", which is pretty much everyone's favorite. Google something like "Wallace Gromit have you seen this chicken" to see the original!
Much prefer this format, the live streams make concentrating on the gameplay difficult. This is delightful, I'm so proud of the Fallout London Team! Makes me feel really homesick.
Fun story, I am recovering from brain surgery. When I was in the ICU going through my phone I realized I accidently years ago uploaded the 1960's British show, The Prisoner, to my cloud. I watched a couple episodes the day after surgery and got lost in its surreal dream like spy fantasy world. The second I started watching this I realized eerie similarities between the game and show. The way the "overseer" said "Be Seeing You" confirmed my suspicions. You are in the village now. Who is number 1?
Your so detail oriented and the HD texture pack being installed screwed your playthrough up so much. I'd love to have heard your reactions to all the new textures. You gotta rerecord the opening lol
The “have you seen this chicken?” poster was in reference to one of the first Wallace and Gromit episodes-which was a stop motion series about a man and his dog. In this episode, they rent out a room to a penguin who, as it happens, is a professional robber and his disguise is a rubber glove that he wears on his head - thus everyone thinking he’s actually a chicken. The dog (Gromit) figures it out and tries (in vain) to convince his owner (Wallace) as the penguin prepares for a major heist.
I’m sure I’ve heard him mention the series before, so he knows what it is, but probably either hasn’t seen much of it or forgot the episode that was in.
Was planning to skip this altogether because Fallout outside of America feels a bit like Lord of the Rings outside Middle Earth to me, but after watching this I may actually play it someday. I'm not thrilled at the install process of having to downgrade the latest patch to play it, but my hope is that can be resolved someday. I'm very impressed with the production values, it feels like a professional game rather than a mod. The voice acting is top-notch as well. So far their explanations for the existence of core gameplay mechanics outside of America (like VATS and Pip-Boys) has been well done also. I'm a little surprised at how many new models and art assets they made for everything, but then missed small details like changing the magazine cover to not say "Diamond City" on it. These little details being overlooked on reused assets occurred often in New Vegas as well though, so I can't fault them for it too much.
@@id.unknown1283People are saying it’s a conflict caused by high resolution texture pack for FO4 not supported by London & it will clear up it that’s removed.
Hey there Ox. I thought I would drop this here to help you and anyone else understand all the little British nods. Should help you enjoy it a bit better I believe. Also the skins are there, I think you might need to fiddle with the settings a bit. On the lock pick screen was the kale lock and as such that's for a Yale lock which are pretty common here in England, the logo on the tea tin was a the changed logo of the East India Tea Company which sells high end teas, the Crystal palace DJ's Artful Roger and Olivia Twist are fallout takes on the artful dodger and Oliver Twist from the play of the same name, the common Shrew is a rodent that is commonly found in many parts of England, the BF barrels are a take on BP which stands for British Petroleum, Warmite is indeed a Marmite reference, Protect and Survive was a government pamphlets that gave advice on how to build nuclear bunker's among other things but the info inside was total rubbish, 1:07:10 is a Wallace and Gromit reference (Wallace and Gromit are British Claymation) and the episode in question is called "The Wrong Trousers",
The tiny magazine spinner on the counter in The Shard at 43:05 would be for postcards - for tourists to send back home while on holiday! Much less common these days of course since most people are online now.
10:19 I’m glad the alternate timeline gave Alan a better ending. 48:37 you’re supposed to check your stats first before doing drugs even if they are cool sounding. 1:04:02 you do have a 1 in endurance. 1:11:09 This cool! I cannot wait to play it myself seeings as how I’ve never been to the UK it’ll be interesting to navigate the unknown landscape.
The voice actor for the radio ''The Mend'' is Dan Bull. There are a lot of cameos and references from different media, content creators and actors. The is even a former ''speaker of parliament'' who dived in on this as well. The wanted penguin post is a Wallace and Gromit reference
A bit of environmental storytelling I think you missed is that the Underground benches seem to have a royal cypher with the letters VR with II between them, which seems to imply that the name of the British monarch at the time of the Great War was Queen Victoria II.
Loving the lets play so far. Looking forward to move in the future. One thing I might add for future streams. In-game subtitles, not that the British accent is hard to understand. But more for people who's first language is not English.
I'm from Texas, USA and have trouble understanding American accents. You can imagine what other countries accents do to my understanding, including British accents. To me, almost everyone outside Texas speaks Greek. which reminds me of an old family joke. My dad used to say his time overseas allowed him to understand any language but Greek. Someone would always ask him to say something in another language. He would respond with "That's Greek to me".
I hope you continue playing the mod in its entirety. I avoided watching any other videos in the hopes you’d cover it. There may be mistakes, and reused assets. But remember, at the end of the day it’s a mod. Not a DLC. They did a ton of great work, and it’s really impressive. So some parts may just require your imagination to pretend skins are different than they appear! I look forward to more videos. It’s a shame I’ll never get to play it, being a console player myself.
@@Docktavion ah okay. I figured some things were bugs, but there was a lot of things so I just assumed they were still going to work on it in the future to polish out those finer details

According to other comments it’s the high resolution texture pack he used that devs warned NOT to. Not sure why it’s even still available once they knew it’s problematic. 🤷♀️ He’ll probably fix it by removing after reading it here many times.
The mod also uses Fallout 3's perk system and UI, which makes sense, because Fallout 4's perk UI has a lot of Pip-Boy graphics which would be out of place here.

Honestly Ox, this is the first video of yours I’ve watched in a long while. The constant railing about the texture issue, and the fact that it’s a problem with your configuration, and you seemingly did no workshopping to solve the issue, it really puts me off.
I’m not sure he realized at recording that it’s a configuration issue. When I listen it sounds like he really believed there were no unique skins for those items, which is why he was disappointed. He reads this comment section & he’ll likely take care of the issue by removing the texture pack they warned against using, I’d wager.

@@loraelstad8941 It's possible, but I'm not entirely certain myself. Personally, I didn't want to fight with Steam nonsense while trying to get London to work, so I got the GOG version. Either way, here's hoping he gets things fixed, because I know he's going to enjoy the London-ized textures for everything.
@@Gochen86 Roger the Steam nonsense. I said to hell with it and bought a second copy of FO 4 for my Xbox which I have much more pleased with. I then deleted FO4 from my PC. I'm too old to put up with such BS.
Prolly Oxhorn didn't want to show the terminal thanking us or the GOG shirt since it's a bit meta and outside of game lore. It was great of them to put that right in the beginning. Also I was so hype when I realised tickets were currency, look just like the real ones too!
@@JessicaStar 100% agree, that was cut out to stay in the mood.
I’m sorry, hold up, lord baldemort did the intro? Ok I’m sold.
Watch "mind the gap" be this version of "would you kindly" from bioshock 1.
It's a British train or "tube" saying. Mind the gap as in the gap between the train and the platform.
I STG XD. I almost died around the jimmy hat bit, had just taken a drink and now I'm having a hard time breathing.
It would make sense that there is no vault boy character because vault tec was an American company
*Makes character’s strength low*
Later: 1:03:50 “Why is my character so WEAK!?!?”
It was super popular in the states aswell
Please continue, and in this format! This is awesome!!
Much prefer this format, the live streams make concentrating on the gameplay difficult. This is delightful, I'm so proud of the Fallout London Team! Makes me feel really homesick.
it seems like being a free mason in fallout london is like being a part of vaultec or the enclave in the official fallout games ...
Id love to see the eradiated landscape of my home town please continue this series
The line “Be seeing you!” is an Easter Egg for the old. British TV show “The Prisoner.”
I loved this! Please do more in this format. Oh please ❤
I've been curious about this one for a while. And now I hear Baldermort doing the opening intro. I'll be installing this weekend.
Also Boston Globe suggest a link to the institute. There was what I assume to be a New London Bobble Head figurine at 33:20 top corner liquor shelf.
It is number 2, and number 2 says is number 1.... :-)
You are Number Six.
"Exit Through The Gift Shop" is a reference to Banksy. It was the title of his documentary.
Jeez, radroaches must just be extra durable from drinking all that irradiated tea. They took a lot of ammo there 😮
Your so detail oriented and the HD texture pack being installed screwed your playthrough up so much. I'd love to have heard your reactions to all the new textures. You gotta rerecord the opening lol
Yes continue this format.
I like the format. Would prefer live but with your schedule this works as well. Keep up the amazing videos!
U beat me to the explanation by an hour lol
I’m sure I’ve heard him mention the series before, so he knows what it is, but probably either hasn’t seen much of it or forgot the episode that was in.
that there be Baldermort, a 40k Lore RUclipsr doing the opening dialogue of war never changes speech.
Keep it in this format ❤
So glad you are playing this!! I know you were very skeptical since it’s not canon but it looks like a grand romp through London!!
I love the opening monologue voice! made it more immersive.
So excited to watch you play more! I will watch either in a live stream or regular video form so as long as you keep playing I’ll keep watching!
they did explain. they are imports from the US sent by their "man" in the U.S. aka the robot bartender in The Third Rail at Goodneighbor.
Please do a full play through of this. I have no way to play this as i dont have a computer that i can run this on.
I watched eso's video and stream of the and all the signage was correct
@@id.unknown1283People are saying it’s a conflict caused by high resolution texture pack for FO4 not supported by London & it will clear up it that’s removed.
Hey there Ox. I thought I would drop this here to help you and anyone else understand all the little British nods. Should help you enjoy it a bit better I believe. Also the skins are there, I think you might need to fiddle with the settings a bit. On the lock pick screen was the kale lock and as such that's for a Yale lock which are pretty common here in England, the logo on the tea tin was a the changed logo of the East India Tea Company which sells high end teas, the Crystal palace DJ's Artful Roger and Olivia Twist are fallout takes on the artful dodger and Oliver Twist from the play of the same name, the common Shrew is a rodent that is commonly found in many parts of England, the BF barrels are a take on BP which stands for British Petroleum, Warmite is indeed a Marmite reference, Protect and Survive was a government pamphlets that gave advice on how to build nuclear bunker's among other things but the info inside was total rubbish, 1:07:10 is a Wallace and Gromit reference (Wallace and Gromit are British Claymation) and the episode in question is called "The Wrong Trousers",
Would love to see a whole series of this.
The tiny magazine spinner on the counter in The Shard at 43:05 would be for postcards - for tourists to send back home while on holiday! Much less common these days of course since most people are online now.
Hope Ox reads the comments and fixes his installation so he doesn't complain about the textures anymore.
Most definitely keep exploring, but also take a second and enjoy it for what it is! We can wait for a video on it!!😊
AH yeah Oxhorn! Miss the ol' Fallout vids so glad you jumped in on Fallout London but of course you did :D gonna feel like home i know it.
Please keep doing this series!
The voice actor for the radio ''The Mend'' is Dan Bull. There are a lot of cameos and references from different media, content creators and actors. The is even a former ''speaker of parliament'' who dived in on this as well.
The wanted penguin post is a Wallace and Gromit reference
u didnt get the leaves on track joke on.the train 😁😆😆
i love that Fallout London is here and the man that taught me all about Fallout Lore is covering this Story.
Don't forget to collect the coasters from each pub. This mod is so big. I'd love to see it on Scotch & smoke rings.
Don’t get the one from The Hound. It’s broken and all damage from all weapons you try to use will be cut in half.
@@katrose5179 Thanks. Good to know.
I love the ‘Have You Seen This Chicken?’ Wallace and Gromit reference
I hope you continue playing the mod in its entirety. I avoided watching any other videos in the hopes you’d cover it. There may be mistakes, and reused assets. But remember, at the end of the day it’s a mod. Not a DLC. They did a ton of great work, and it’s really impressive. So some parts may just require your imagination to pretend skins are different than they appear! I look forward to more videos. It’s a shame I’ll never get to play it, being a console player myself.
@@Nathan35077 everything should be reskinned. Looks like a mod conflict for an upscaler that’s preventing the new skins to come through.
@@Docktavion ah okay. I figured some things were bugs, but there was a lot of things so I just assumed they were still going to work on it in the future to polish out those finer details
@@Nathan35077 yeah from watching a few streams and following Folon for a while on discord etc. they had things squared away. So listening to ox had me doing a double take when he was pointing things out. Fingers crossed he realises theirs been a conflict and either restarts or continues with the issue resolved.
@@Docktavion I don’t think he’d restart. As it’s a playthrough. If he decided to make lore videos of it though I’m sure he would
According to other comments it’s the high resolution texture pack he used that devs warned NOT to. Not sure why it’s even still available once they knew it’s problematic. 🤷♀️ He’ll probably fix it by removing after reading it here many times.
Thank you Ox, for playing this the way we would. I saw a snippet of another streamer and it was like a speedrun! Waste of 5 minutes! ❤
The mod also uses Fallout 3's perk system and UI, which makes sense, because Fallout 4's perk UI has a lot of Pip-Boy graphics which would be out of place here.
I would love for ALL gameplay content to be in this format. Less distractions and you can really pay attention. I wish Mass Effect would have been done like this honestly.
The frathers mcgraw references with the missing posters were just hilarious, im so upset oxhorn didnt get them 😂
Oh yeah since it's in the UK guns are far more scarce
I wonder if it will be less scarce than it is now, because Fallout world history diverged in many ways from our reality.
@loraelstad8941 I checked their website it doesn't have the same gun laws in FOLON but guns are still harder to come by
@@Makarosc Sweet. Someone else (MrJock.T) told me something about a conversation with a gang leader that explains a little bit of the history. Something about Enfield (who supplied military arms, I think he said) had thrown open their doors. So it explains some guns, but not as many as in US.
Really sad to see you’re missing out on some of these awesome textures the mod team did. 😢 Hopefully you sort this out because I’ve enjoyed my play through so far. Also you missed a bunch of stuff including a rifle and terminal that thanked the mod team. P.S. “nomnomnom, love that teabag.” Had me rolling. 😂
He took the empty tea tin but passed over 2 tea bags. Each Tea Bag will restore 10 HP. Likewise pre war food but with varying number of rads.
They’re definitely A texture issue in the video because they definitely Retextured all the things he’s complained about. 😂
According to other comments I read, Ox was using the high resolution texture pack that devs warned NOT to use. He removes it, unique textures should show.
@@loraelstad8941 Yeah lol 😂
I enjoy the very British references. The colour of the milk (blue top, green top and red top). The bins are a very British design you’ll find in the UK now too, plus; they’re actually called ‘rubbish bins’!
Hey, I’m from/Live in Boston, MA and I can tell you that London and Boston are very similar ironically. From street names, to similar train structures, similar building structures, etc. Boston just looks like a newer version of England which is probably why we’re called ‘New England’ also England still owns many land here in Massachusetts which I never knew until I visited London.
I used to work for a British owned company. The USA base was in Virginia.
Been waiting so long for you to play this! Let’s go oxhorn! Lots of love
