    Love this video! Great explanation and great shots of all the machines & components! Since you've mentioned Mauzer at the beginning, I was wondering whether you have experience with them. Do you know whether they generally work well-ish and are reasonably durable? Sadly I could not find much information about them on the internet so far.

    Is there any chance you could make another video about the made in Japan 114E machine? If you have one.
    I have one of those and it has very few parts with numbers, and it has a cover with paint on the inside.
    It's really hard to tell what is original and "Correct".
    Seeing the insides of another 114E as a comparison might help.

    Can everyone share these sellers that you’re experiencing problems with so everyone knows to beware? I’ve been looking for an embroidery machine. What serial numbers are for the 114W and what other models did chainstitch embroidery? Thanks in advance, great video!

    I’ve got a 114B103. I’ve never been able to find any info on what the B denotes. I purchased it atleast 6 years ago. It had plenty of genuine wear on the bed and while I can’t verify the full back story, I was told it was purchased by my buyer from an embroidery shop that went out of business a few years before I purchased it. Definitely before the influx of Indian machines, infact at the time, there were VERY few available on eBay. I also got it $400 - what she claimed to pay for it - definitely not a high price even then.
    I share all that to say that there are plenty of parts on mine that do not have stamps, yet all the parts look to be of the same quality and same age as both those on the machine that do, and those shown in your video.
    You state that the Japanese made E machines do not have the same markings as the W’s. What markings do they have? If my B machine were not made in America, isn’t it possible that some parts may have been shipped over to wherever and would carry the stamps, and others may be made locally? These machines have been in production for over 100 years, through two wars, isn’t it possible that at times some parts would be produced that did not get stamped?
    Don’t misunderstand, I’m not speaking in defense of India, the machines you showed were definitely suspect, but I am playing devils advocate for every person who’s now checking their machine and freaking out because one gear isn’t stamped.
    Let me know if you’d like detailed photos documenting my machine, so you can compare.

      This isn’t an India vs rest of the world thing. This is an Aussie who is using labor in China and India and is rebuilding Singers and Cornely. You cannot ascribe this to an entire country when it is one operator from Australia who is fully responsible. There are Singers that have been made in India and they function fine, as Singer supplied machines to the Indian Textile industry and also had machines made in India. Of course they are not going to have American Singer stamps on them.

    • @Charecosew
      @Charecosew  6 месяцев назад +1

      We have had all sorts of makes and models of machines come through the shop. Bootlegs, Knockoffs, pristine museum quality originals that look like they were never used.
      We dont sign off on machines from any vendors aside from ourselves. There are so many tiny variables that can make or break a machine of any quality and price point. A seemingly immaculate singer can have unseen issues that make it a $5000 boat anchor.

    So wishing this video existed before I got stung by the same seller on e bay, same story, fake parts, mustard seed oil, etc, etc. I called this person out in a couple groups and it was amazing how heated things got. I have always wondered how a real machine would compare in operation. Who knew there was so much money to be stolen from people who love to sew, very niche rip off artist!
