I have horrific mental illnesses but the only way they lead me toward holiness is in the struggle against them and the turn to true sanity which is in Christ. I fail in this too much. I imagine if I were to ever reach anything even near true Holiness than these mental afflictions would go away. Simply because Christ is Truth and Truth destroys delusion which is a non-thing while truth is the only thing. Sanity is very important in the life of a Christian because pretty much all Passions and Sins (at least in modern man) come out of the imagination. By nature, nothing in the imagination can be true because it is quite literally dreams and shadows. This is why I'm personally more than convinced that even the most seemingly eccentric Holy Fools were not mentally ill at all but rather acted in this way for the sake of humility. They were not lying, more or less diverting people's attention from them by any means necessary. However, I'm not a Priest and the fact that I am disagreeing with one in the comment section is beyond horrible.

You are right about Saints. Insane ones are those arrogant and ignorant who make fun, not recognize Holly.

"Vai de lume din pricina lucrurilor care provoacă păcatul! Asemenea lucruri trebuie să vină, dar vai de cel prin care vin!" Asta e din Evanghelia după Matei. Aceasta este o biserică minunată!

God allowed my adversity to make me pray.
Oh Father! I am so happy to discover your church. Where s Stafford? I was brought into Orthodoxy at St Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Shillington PA more than thirty years ago and was “sent into exile” in this Baptists Virginia, but by God’s mercy I have found St Innocent of Alaska Orthodox Church in Salem Virginia and have been here for years now. Glory to God!

This is another way Orthodox look at things SO differently than do Protestants. A devout protestant feels that he has to put on a good face and "act right" so that the name of Christ is not blasphemed. An Orthodox Saint doesn't worry about Christ's name being blasphemed by the Saint's strange behavior, as long as the Saint stays humble.

Yes but Jesus didn't want us to be dishrags. You know He told people straight out who and what they were. In today's society in which the majority of people are psychopaths and corrupt mental illness is everywhere and as far as Dymphna goes being sexually molested by your father is a horrific crime. I don't want to judge you but where is the empathy for her sufferings from that terrible abuse ? I don't like the sado/masochism part of the Catholic Church. You can't just suck it up to become holy. You have to speak out as your authentic self otherwise you will be mentally ill. This is only an argument that I am making. Regardless of that I am going to follow your channel and listen. Thank you.
And one more thing. Therapists these days don't even believe in evil. It's crazy but true.
