- paramedic Year 1 clinical skills, airway management using a stepwise approach. Head-tilt-chin-lift, jaw thrust, OP airway, NP airway, IGEL. OSCE example. clinical practice
The OPA was measured wrong. It should be measured in the position it will sit. Then you turn it to start insurting, and then turn into the final position.
I’m glad you noticed that as well!
Thanks for video
For jaw thrust you can also place the heels of your hands on the maxillae, your fingers around the angle of the jaw, and use your thumbs to press on the chin to open up the mouth to ensure a patent airway.

very nice
I hope you bring out more videos!
Out of curiosity would you not say that two people are needed for an advanced airway, as when you let go the I-gel can move and become dislodged? Also why is there no filter used in the airway circuit as regurgitation and stomach acid may cause a false capnography reading ?
Jacob Redden-Owen I gels are difficult to dislodge, that said studies have shown that they are not as good as Etta or other supraglottics like the king lt
Only an et Tube will prevent aspiration.
Very good 👍👍 sir
Thanks for the video but Unfortunately poor technique
If it gets me Breathing again I wouldn't care if it was a Scaff Tube with the worst of Techniques - but yes, why make the comment without an opinion why you see it as not aesthetic in technique. To go off Topic; if I was later told through Lack of a Defib, the Locals decided to Wade-in with size 10 D.M.'s into my Cage in order to get a restart, then I would be pleased to 'Live' with that very poor Technique.
Very very vary helpful & infomative video thank you so much for guiding
Thanks.
👍👍👍👍👍💓
Too fast...
Frieda Shigwedha b
yeah
Booooo
lol that's not how you put the Igel buddy you must put the solutions around the Igel its self to create the suction along the esophagus . then you put solution around the hole right next to the IGel itself for the gastric tube... ughhhhh this is soooooooo important...;(
Not fast enough
Its for demonstration of the proper tech!?!
Seriously its surprising that trolls disrupt even most noble of videos. Even down to the screen name. Total jerk!!
On the point do you even have a clue how you get that speed that a seasoned combat medic or PM with years under their belt? The way you do for anything that takes knowledge, technique, and motor skill. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. So guess where you start out when doing and thus teaching the needed technique??? SLOWLY!!!!!
Very helpful ☺

Shouldn't you Laryngoscopy the trachea before inserting I - GEL?
James Kucz No it's supraglottic not aiming for trachea or fear of esophageal intubation unlike ETT
