Exactly. Sentimentality does not dictate value. Stupid Catrine! No research on how to store wine properly. She kept wine by a window!! No big surprise none of the wine sold. I suppose she could use for cooking.
This is the first time I've seen this series , thank you for uploading it :) Also , a big Thank you for leaving the commercials in!! As an American , I love to see commercials from the UK :)
Same here the other way round when I see the US ones - for some reason they seem to differ between our two countries. Also the dates show commercials at that time.
I had a cousin who was a storage hoarder. She was always on her way to the storage place to "go through her stuff and clear it out." Decades of that. Very difficult mental condition to have. I feel for hoarders.
I knew a women who had 3 good size storage building that we literally stuffed with possessions. Plus her house was overflowing. I mean what good is all this if you cannot use it.
That was an interesting one but confirms my view that most of the stuff most of us hve has such little vlaue sue as only £30 that is not even worth travelling to an actuion or even photographing it for Ebay - just give it to a charity shop. The first lay reminded me of Susan Boyle the singer - similar in she is what we used to call eccentric. I sam glad she cleared her room. The other man probably needs to stop collecting and instead go back to his plumbing trade where he can make real money.
I think this series picks fairly normal people who have to meet certain criteria - eg someone with an unusual possibly valuable item they can take to an expert. We also have series no real mentally ill hoarders living in filth and dirt just like the US.
These people are not hoarders. They might have hoarding tendencies...but even with the clutter, if you can walk into a room mostly full, see the floor, and know what everything in the room is, where it is, where it came from, you're not a hoarder.
+Lady Brittany they are hoarders in the collector sense. hoarding by definition just means having more than you need. hoarding can also be a mental illness and on a level where you have sacrificed your health and lifestyle for the hoard.
It's been awhile since I've seen this video and now it's blocked, so I can't revisit the content...but I've had enough relatives that have hoarding tendancies....I can assure you I know the difference between hoarding and non-hoarding. I also know that it is a mental disorder and should not be made too lightly of. But thank you for your input.
Katrine is a fool. An auction like this a buyers market, and her expectations were just waaaay to high. She’ll probably die with all that crap and then some. She was better off setting no reserves and taking what she could get. I mean a broken stein?!? Lol
well it's about 15% so in fact a pound is about 85 pence if your a smoker or drinker it more like 50 pence as cigarette and beer is very heavy taxed £9.35 20 cigarette and a pint of beer £3.31
This show should never advice people to take their valuables to a dealer ! That's terrible, he's in the market of buying & selling. An Appraiser is exactly what they need. An expert in the field who has Zero interest in buying their items, but rather only to appraise their worth.
Im familiar with the lady "host"...it took me a bit but she did a show with a big brassy blond with a beehive hairdo...I seem to remember them on a cleaning out show...anybody know the show?
I suspect she is just perfectly happy but has a mild special need but able to funciton okay and her friend sounded kind and helpful so nice she has her around.
I love when people think they know better than experts who have devoted their lives to evauating items.

Kathern needs a full makeover
I like the host and her fashions!

I enjoy seeing where each featured person lives. I like the experts, too. some of them are featured on Antiques Roadshow.
That colorful window dress is amaaaaazzzziiinnggggg
I knew a women who had 3 good size storage building that we literally stuffed with possessions. Plus her house was overflowing. I mean what good is all this if you cannot use it.
And u can't take it with u
The music box is not a "ring" box, it's a powder box.
I'm enjoying the British commercials.
I must admit it has a lot of sentimental value so I want a lot of money. What a mess that girl is.
Katrine was just to greety & for that she gets what she deserves nothing lol.

Is it just me, or aside from the British accents, do the brit hoarders seem classier then the american hoarders?
I think this series picks fairly normal people who have to meet certain criteria - eg someone with an unusual possibly valuable item they can take to an expert. We also have series no real mentally ill hoarders living in filth and dirt just like the US.
Katrine really got knocked off her high horses
Katrine is a pill. I hope she spent some of that money on new clothes that fit and getting that hair fixed.
The auctioneer seems pissed off with what is he having to sell 🤣🤣🤣
how can victorian slides go for 30 pounds? that is ridiculously low!

Lady Brittany l agree with you
Did the commercial really have to be included
People think their stuff is worth a ton....and then they hold onto it forever to the point it deteriorates .
i love the advertising
I wish they done things like this in america alot more people would get rid of more of their hoardes.
Cabinet way too huge, especially for many English cottages, and filthy!
Are the auctioneers supposed to say "no one likes this" when no one has bid yet? It's not very enticing for anyone who might be on the fence about it.
Keep your stuff in sheds, if it makes you happy, for we only live so long. It crazy to have your apartment or house filthy, and not any floor space.
It looks like Katrines hoard is mostly out of control collections.,
No. The guy who is collecting chainsaws has clearly lost his mind!
The music! Am I the only one? 😩
6:17 Say it, don't Spray it! lol
"they are sought after by everyone", "Very fine doors"
So why only 20 pounds? They're obviously going to resell it for at least five times that.

I'm wondering if a pound is equal to a dollar in america anybody know?
+Jackyblue67 Same 1 British Pound equals $1.54 at the moment
So things are more expensive in Brittian than America that's interesting to know thanks for the info.
well to us here in the uk the USA more expensive as you get all most $2 to one of our pounds + we pay more tax than you and you are welcome :-)
Yeah ur right I'm wrong don't know what I was thinking sorry bout that. How much tax on each pound there do yal pay?
well it's about 15% so in fact a pound is about 85 pence if your a smoker or drinker it more like 50 pence as cigarette and beer is very heavy taxed £9.35 20 cigarette and a pint of beer £3.31
2:41 is not really a hoarder in my eyes. Her house has to be pack to the ceiling for me to think of them as a hoarder. She might be borderline though.

Some folks call me a hoarder...but I'm not...I'M NOT!!!!
They say ther 'r' sound so clearly, unlike most English people. Is that their local accent?
PANTAN? Wtf?? 12:40
Love Brit TV even katrine
Im familiar with the lady "host"...it took me a bit but she did a show with a big brassy blond with a beehive hairdo...I seem to remember them on a cleaning out show...anybody know the show?
***** I absolutely recognize the "experts"
That's it...Thank you Rhonda!
I was wrong
Are British hoarders neater than American ones? Lol just curious.
the one with the green sweater is really weird and needs help
I suspect she is just perfectly happy but has a mild special need but able to funciton okay and her friend sounded kind and helpful so nice she has her around.
Commercials!
I think they’re saying commercials are a good thing. It’s fun to watch English commercials.
He talks like he is doing Art auction.
i am sorry but to me this show looks so set up
I think they choose the people very carefully to a formula and then they just pick out a few items.
I’m selling my freshly used Coke cans for $50.00 each any takers?
Good concept , but boaring presentation.
