    Amazing results! This review really helps. I'm comparing these exact subs to other in-wall subs such as JBL SSW-3 & RBH recently released their new dual 12" in-wall sub configuration. Hope you can review those new RBH soon!

    Those shallow SB Acoustics drivers are something else. Optimized for 10 liter enclosures per driver and 12mm Xmax with a depth of less than 10 cm. Cost a pretty penny though, but I'd venture they're close to being the most bass per liter of volume you can get

    Isnt it true that below 20hz you need to " feel " the bass, I mean thought 2x 10" wont let you feel much. Would you choose this over the R10 from Perlisten ( even though it doesn't reach that low ).

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  6 месяцев назад +1

      You do feel it under 20. I need to test the R10 to be able to talk about it. Never seen one. But would love to!

    I’d be really curious what at least 2 of these 2-10” in wall subs with the mono amp X2 setup as the lfe in your system or possibly the 2-10” IW for the left and right fronts setup would sound/feel like. And what if any would be the difference or sound quality setup that way.
    Also, would be super cool to see them set up as your bass layer subs with a couple of the 18”s/15s as your infrasonic levels for HT and for music! 🎉
    Keep up the good work! This video felt shorter than usual but thanks for getting up! 🎉

      I was thinking about doing something like 4 in my front wall along with on wall or in wall speakers to eliminate all the speaker clutter in the front of my small room. It would be a game changer! Just need to decide on a display first!

    Pretty impressive in-room response. NLA only claim 15Hz for it. A shame you couldn't film the excursion on these drivers, that would have been interesting and fun to see.

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  6 месяцев назад

      I was measuring real response in room. So I was getting some room gain for sure. I was pleasantly surprised by the subs!

    So I just noticed on a re-watch, you keep mentioning increasing the signal 3dB at a time, but the graphs only increase roughly 1-1.5dB at a time. How do we square that circle other than it being some kind of limiter?

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  5 месяцев назад

      Well, it’s 3 clicks on the volume knob. As long as the output increases at a consistent rate we know we don’t have compression.

    Looks like SB shallow drivers I hope more companies offer sub amps with subsonic filter
    Car audio is doing since decades but home products no one talks
    2 tens could fill a small room will need 2 more for medium size room to generate more pressure

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  6 месяцев назад

      All makes sense! In home theater many folks use an outboard dsp for a subsonic filter. I think 4 of these kits (8 10s in total) would be outstanding!

      @@JilesMcCoyI'm running some rather shallow Artcoustic DFS75-55 X2 Subwoofers in my 3000 cu.ft. living space. Four enclosures total stacked in pairs. To optimize the enclosures for their chosen drivers, I've removed one driver from each enclosure, leaving me with four drivers in total with output very similar to a pair of these in about twice the airspace. They sound very impressive even for our medium/large room, and I'm really tempted to build two more enclosures to get back up to 8 drivers, just to try it. 8 of these drivers in four enclosures was not optimal at all, so four drivers in the same boxes actually have not output than eight due to the pressure

      @@JilesMcCoy what I'm trying to say is, I think 4 of these would make for an entirely amazing system. Basically the cone area of two 20" subs with an inch of peak-to-peak excursion, absolutely stupid motor-force, and all in a combined total of 80 liters of enclosure

      I can get you in contact with a dealer if you want to talk real numbers. Just drop details here: form.jotform.com/240460421163141 MSRP is $2500, but street is a good chunk lower than that.

    • @audioman99
      @audioman99 6 месяцев назад +2

      I don’t understand why so many Audio companies just don’t state their price. You shouldn’t have to call a distributor just to find out whether a product is within your price range or not.
      Other than that, looks like a great product.

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  6 месяцев назад

      Its because they don't sell directly and don't set the prices. They sell through the channel and depend on their dealers to set their final price based on how much profit they want.@@audioman99

    • @audioman99
      @audioman99 5 месяцев назад

      @@JilesMcCoyThat's fine, but they could still state the MSRP and let dealers give the final price. d(And it's not just Next level...RBH and others too). That's all...as I'm not trying to be critical ;)

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  5 месяцев назад +1

      I totally get it. These manufacturers really don't want to get in the way of their dealers though. It really is a dealer call on the pricing. And from my perspective, I get so much flack when I post a price and it changes that its not worth it. Better just to tell folks to ask. @@audioman99
