I've actually contacted Mike Tramp about hiring me for a White Lion reunion and here's his reply: "Brother keep doing what you do and just enjoy. I am doing something completely different today and got it under control. Vito would be very proud if he saw this." -Mike
Spot on and ohh so tight!! When i listen to you play, i am literally in a different place, an escape if you wil. melodic, tone and pure bliss. THIS is what music is all about, and the fact that you are able to share with others this beautiful mindset is fabulous!! Thank you!!
To be honest, I'm not so sure it even matters that you can play note for original note to some of these singers (I could be wrong). Not sure when, but some time ago I watched a video with MT in a band doing WL songs and the guitarist was missing about a third of the notes, and I don't mean IN thirds either... because then maybe that would've actually been melodic. Great playing btw. Thanks for this, music to my ears.
I've never seen anyone play like Vito...He's one of those guys that people say he sounds like Eddie....But other than his Tapping..he was nothing like Eddie, His phrasing and style and licks were innovative and in the past 25 years I've never heard anyone close..You have hit the nail on the head..OUTSTANDING JOB.
Completely agree with the comparison to Eddie. Eddie influenced infinitely more players. His contributions are nearly unmatched... except maybe by Hendrix. But Vito is a case of the protege surpassing the master!
Two different players. He's rhythm is froma totally different place. Van Halen is classic rock. Vito is really irregular and I'd say Van halen is more regular or more predictable with some variations in his play. Vito is completely random in my opinion with his playing. It's like he can play whatever the hell he wants and play it off rythm most the time and it's just a weird style imo but fuck it's so weird but good. Like very irregular imo. That's the best way I can describe him. x'D !!!!!!!
Vito is definitely a really great player. Very tasty and sweet licks that bounce back and forth constantly pedaling and pivoting that makes for really warm phrasing and tones. Within each of his solos you will hear those characteristics everywhere, and he makes them sound really cool... And a lot of these guys do a really nice job covering them - thank you. However, it is crystal clear that Vito pretty much listened to the first 6 Van Halen albums all the time to the point of being so much so, that it's now unconsciously built in to him... Vito's use of all the harmonics (natural, artificial, tapped-out and the palm shuffeled), the sweet blending and note choices, the divebombs and bar work, and of course the tapping Eddie revolutionized (and that's not even mentioning Eddie's songwriting, chord inversions and riffs.. . Go back and listen to any of the first 6 Van Halen albums - especially the tune "Push Comes to Shove" on the 2nd side of Van Halen's 4th album - Fair Warning. I can pretty much guarantee that Vito listened to that album constantly for years and years because all of EVH's characteristics, style and swagger are all over Vito's songs and solos.. You can't blame Vito, those albums are where EVH singlehandedly re-wrote the guitar and no one has yet to even come close to doing it again. Period... And I am not taking anything away from Vito (I love his playing for sure), but you simply must give credit where credit is due - and that goes to King Edward. Please go back and listen closely to those first 6 Van Halen albums and you'll see what I am talking about and if you're not that familiar with EVH, you are in for a treat my friend, a real treat...
I heard a rock critic define Vito as a weaker version of EVH than Nuno Bettencourt. Now Nuno is a better guitarist than both but what an insult to Vito. EVH is great, plz don’t take this wrong. Vito did some things, EVH could not do, imo. Nuno and Vito’s tapping ability took what EVH did to another level similar to Reb Beach. Vito’s greatness is shown by how we still talk about his playing today. Which is amazing considering the small amount of work he released
Vito's playing was brilliantly composed with a huge emphasis on melody where as Van Halen would sound like he would be falling down a flight of stairs but somehow manage to land on his feet. Awesome players both but in no way can they be compared to each other other than being in rock bands of the same era.
Ive read all 384 comments😂 And play this video hundred times I'm a fan of Vito since 2007 and all I can say youre the best Vito cover. Thanks for passing the torch sir.🙏
Every solo was done with care. Vito wasn't about throw away or mail it in solos. I don't think there has been anyone as unique and awe inspiring outside of Steve Vai.
you can tell Vito was hugely influenced by 70's bands like Boston, Journey from his melodic attack to music and sense that everything has to have a reason to exist and allowing his music to breath, which are all staple trademarks of 70's and early 80's era progressive rock music.
Wait solo is unbeatable, is too too incredible. It's brilliant, artful like Vito came out to do a solo like this, malinconic but strong, I've not words to describe I can only have thrills!
At first Vito Bratta has an untypical string touch. A light one not aggressive. Even with the pick. The soli parts could play alone outside the song. Intro, one or two basic melody riffs. Some are masterpieces. An underrated guitar player who stopped playing for personal reasons and never came back. But he's sill have fans! Some are 30 years more but they're still listening him. Whatever, a very well done tribute to him ! Great job.
@@Pattbonn47 I tried also to find out what happened. Some famous people who were running radio shows tried to contact him too. Personal reasons maybe and his silence must be respected. But what a guitar player !
Playing Vito is not only impossible but an honor to see ,i am astonished, truely you can be proud all you want because 99.999% of guitarists cant do what you did.Vito is from another world and you nailed it, and made it look simple and beautifull. BRAVO

Vito Brata is an idol and your solos are very damn good!!!!! Cleaner than Brata live I have to say. There has never been a rock guitar player with so much feeling in his solos, never!!!

I don’t know white lion that well and don’t know the guitarist at all but I love the radar love solo I always thought it would be impossible to learn being so complex. But you fine sir made it look easy. Your awesome
I'm still referring young RUclips guitar players to your Vito Bratta solos videos to get them interested in White Lion because of all the players on RUclips, you're the only one who nails the solos note for note. Every nuance is spot on.
Thanks! Too bad Vito and Mike made a pact that Mike doesn't tour under the name White Lion cuz Vito doesn't want the White Lion name tarnished by shitty players 😆 Can't say I blame him. I'm paraphrasing of course😉
Incredible. Absolutely the best Vito Bratta I've ever seen next to the man himself.
Thanks
i agree; we do not have vito anymore sadly but you are holding it down rob admirably
I think Rob IS Vito.
can you tell me where the pic on your avatar comes from?
Can I get the tabs to these solos? Please?

@@kevinrosner8676is nuno really better than vito tho? They're both excellent
I'm blown away!!!
Bratta was just an amazingly gifted melodic and lyrical player.
+Scott Waszak Totally agree. I have never understood why everyone keeps saying he was just a Van Halen copycat. Vito's sense of melody was stellar.
I prefer Bratta to Van Halen. Cleaner lines, or something...
+Russ Wilson More melodic and feel... With all due respect to Ed, I think his feel and melody exists much more in his song writing/rhythm playing.
Vito's playing was brilliantly composed with a huge emphasis on melody where as Van Halen would sound like he would be falling down a flight of stairs but somehow manage to land on his feet. Nuno could give Vito a good competition. Reb Beach, Warren DiMartini, Paul Gilbert, too.
He's got a lot of heart. Heart of a Lion! Maybe that's why I like this band so much? Big heart? Big hair? BIG SOLO'S!
